    Why not just two seperate DI filters instead of mixed bed? Saves you one step.

    Hello colleague, excellent video, could you detail the percentage concentration of sodium hydroxide and muriatic acid? I do not speak english I use the translator. I think the muriatic acid has to be 10%, can it be? And how much hydroxide does it have to be to achieve flotation and regeneration? thank you greetings from Argentina

    Does this process restore the color of the color changing resin?

    Please, help me out here;; I've watched the video about 20 times, bought all the equipment and chemicals and tried doing my first batch. I don't need it for aquarium, I'm using it to try and keep my black car clean. So everything worked just as shown UNTIL it came time to rinse the anion resin. I didn't have any DI water saved so I used distilled water. After about every third rinse, I'd check the output water to get my TDS reading. It seriously took me about 3 hours to rinse just a small batch. I used 9 gallons of distilled water to finally get my TDS down to about 7ppm. I never did get my cation resin completely rinsed. I think I got it down to low 20's. So...... did I do something wrong? I'll trying using your rinsing method but I still figure it will take a lot of water to rinse it. Any suggestions? My resin doesn't last very long as my water is about 375ppm. I want this to work! Oh, also, how critical is the ration of sodium hydroxide? Does it both separate the resin and regenerate the anion resin? If not, could I reduce the S.H. to make it easier to rinse it clean? Is there any purpose to save the rinse water as you're rinsing the S.H. or acid? Thanks for your help.

    How big of a batch can you do at a time? Im using di resin for window cleaning and i need like a cubic ft done each time.. it seems like i would be here for days doing it this way..

    Did all this a few times for moderate 5gallon tanks DI but encountering a probleme regenerated resin seems very less effective about only 30% of when it was brand new. Should i let it soak in Sodium Hhdroxide , Muratic Acid longer , or rinse out even more ?

    How long do you leave the Anion resin in the Sodium Hydroxide, looks like you separate it then wash and store? thanks.

    Good sheet bro, I never thought about putting it in water and pouring in. This still looks like a moderate pain in the ass but I’m almost sold. If I had a bigger tank I’d be much more inclined!

      My main reason is it allows me to be lazy with making water. No need to flush the system as burning up a small amount of reason with high tds water doesn’t even cross my radar and i haven’t bought resin in a year, its best to save up a couple pounds and just run it all through the process once a year.

      It’s definitely worth it if you’re using a ton! I’ll start saving mine in case.

    I have half a cubic foot of mixed bed resin is it possible to regenerate this much? If so any recommendations on stuff I need

    Why did my blue resin sink and my tan resin float ?

    • @poor_mansreef8908
      @poor_mansreef8908  Рік тому

      In common practice that shouldn’t be possible as 1 resin is heavier than the other. An incorrect ratio water to sodium hydroxide would make both reasons sink or float and not the reverse.

      @Grinchfeast Рік тому

      @poor_mansreef8908 the anion floats... The cation sinks and gets treated with the acid solution correct?

    • @poor_mansreef8908
      @poor_mansreef8908  Рік тому +1

      @@Grinchfeast cation gets rinsed and then regenerated with acid. The anion just needs to be rinsed after the sodium hydroxide bath.

    Can you regenerate mixed bed or does it have to be separate cation and anion

    • @poor_mansreef8908
      @poor_mansreef8908  Рік тому +1

      Mixed bed is cation and anion, if you watched the video you’ll see that i started off with mixed bed resin and separated them. They can not be regenerated together.

    How many times can you regenerate resin before it no longer works?

      Im still figuring this out myself, im to the point of using resin thats lost almost all its color changing dye for good and its still going strong.
