Well in CA you can have pretty wide wheels, as long as they don’t protrude 3” past the fenders. Otherwise you may get pulled over.

My first instinct is to hold both hands out the window. Sometimes I'll stop the car and dangle the keys
I throw the keys on the dash and keep my hands on the wheel.
Turn your dome light on. That in and of itself will make things much better to relax the situation. No fast movements, hands out of pockets, and don't spend too much time searching for stuff. One guy wouldn't take his hands out of his pockets (he had a grip on his phone that most would only reserve for a smith and wesson) and it damn near got him high velocity lead poisoning. also, don't shit yourself on the walk and turn; It's nasty, it's on camera, and the car stinks for weeks after.

One of the couple times was when I speeding 70 on a 45 officer was visibly upset but he was cool cuz I accepted my fault n was cool with him

It's part of the state inspection in Texas. If you have a topper that doesn't have one then it's OK though. It used to not matter but now all vehicles have v then so they added it to the law.
Third brake light actually helps cause one evening i was behind the truck in traffic and he seems to have those autozone led brake lights so when he pushed brakes couldn't tell cause brightness didn't really change so I relied off his top light and that was out and of course left lane hogging so was stuck

@@carlosmartinez2565 in Ohio you see “legal” trucks go down the freeway at 70 mph held together by ratchet straps. They are usually chevy trucks and the owners always look like their parents are brother and sister.
I know someone who had a Tacoma and that thing had SO MANY little trees.

Weirdest reason I've been "pulled over" was parking between two semis on a rest area off-ramp while I was making my way across the country with my boat. The officer cited me for parking on the off-ramp and also for not having DOT numbers on my truck, despite the fact that I was towing my own boat. After he cited me, I saw him walk the entire length of the off-ramp and cite every semi parked. He was definitely a "respect my authority" type officer.
He was trying to hit a quota. Still a trash thing to do.

It’s stupid that their not allowed because you should be allowed to use your vehicle however you see fit.

@@elijahcrosby786 in my state you can get away with almost anything, but in a lot of states it seems just the opposite.
The reason for light usage laws is to prevent blinding traffic (dont use your light bar like a dick) and to prevent people from impersonating emergency services. You can have the stuff but don't use the power of the sun to light up a state route. As for bumper height laws and wheels that stick out too far thats more for keeping you from literally running over another car in a crash and killing someone needlessly as a result and to keep you from flinging shit onto people and objects that can cause damage or injury if they are hit. Most of this stuff seems unnecessary out in the sticks where people aren't around to be hit by flying rocks or blinded by the lighting power of 34 lighthouses but you also aren't as likely to be confronted for it if noone is around to be harmed by it. Most of the time it isnt until someone is hurt that bumper height or wheel width are even addressed unless it is something that is completely outlandish.

I don’t get cops that pull you over for lift but if you squat your truck then you obviously have some brain damage.

It’s illegal to have license plate covers, in every way. No questions asked. I have never been pulled over, I’m very lucky. My cousin was actually pulled over for speeding in his 1982 Mercury. lol
I recently got pulled over for my exhaust and the officer said it was to loud and obnoxious but he quickly looked foolish when I showed him it was completely stock
I revved my engine at a cop once after I cut the muffler off and he looked at me and smiled.

I had just recently lifted my highschool truck. It was a 84 Scottsdale, had a 6 inch lift on 40s. Minor wheel well cutting had to be done. I was driving to the local hangout spot at the time when I was pulled over by our local city PD. I knew I was going to get a ticket when the officer stepped out of the squad car with a tape measure.
Literally gets pulled over several times a week just because I drive a lifted truck. They pulled me over one day because my tail lights were "too tinted".... they were stock tail lights 🤔

Strangest thing I ever got pulled over for in my truck was having my high beams on at 1am coming home from work on a Tuesday “night” (going into Wednesday morning), mind you I live in a semi rural area with little to no traffic during to day time as it is , so yeah , stiff neck and clinched fist were at an all time high that day

A buddy of mine got pulled over for no windshield wipers... what makes the story funny is that he was driving his Jeep with the windshield DOWN! In Wisconsin, a windshield is not mandatory (although you must have eye-protection if you have no windshield) but windshield wipers are! LOL
Tinted Windows have gotten me pulled over the most, aside from expired inspection stickers or never getting one at all. I had a cop stop me for having HID headlights while on a smoke ride once though. He let me go, said they had been having a lot of break ins and he just wanted to see who I was and why I was over there. Most of the time, at least in my area, if they want to pull you over for whatever reason, any modification is an excuse.
About 3yrs ago I took out the amber front turn signal bulbs and installed red ones.They passed a law stating no halos, no red, and no blue. I didn't know they passed that law and when I pulled into a gas station on my way to work one morning, a cop looked at me and said "you aren't allowed to have them, I suggest you change them before you get a ticket". My exact words (in a calm voice) were, "but they aren't"... that's all I got to say before he yelled "IF YOU WANT TO ARGUE, ILL GIVE YOU A TICKET RIGHT NOW!".....I turned and walked away.... I'm sorry, I didn't know we weren't allowed to have a simple discussion without them going full on rage mode! That's how I figured out it wasn't legal anymore to have anything other than amber turn signal bulbs....so, I'll be damned before I bring attention to my vehicle after that fiasco...

In your “easy upgrades” video y’all said window tint and showed a windshield being tinted. Here in Georgia the state patrol will slap you with a ticket so fast if you have windshield tint or a tinted license plate cover. On the front side windows you can only go so low on the tint as well. I have 20% on my windows and most time they won’t bother you for that but I have been pulled over before when I had 15% on a car. Windshield tint will get you every time here.

The tags one is why Texas has the sticker in the windshield. The lighting you can have whatever you want for lighting as long as it’s not red blue or amber. For the mirror you just need one mirror that can clearly see 200 ft behind you. And you only need one plate bulb to pass state inspection
In a lot of states light bars or pod lights facing forward have to be covered on the road. Pod lights used for fog lights have to have DOT on the glass.
I got pulled over because the officer wanted to check out my cool looking lifted Ram 1500 with big tires, wide rims, spot lights, snorkel and winched bumper. I asked why did you pull me over? he forgot why and said; oh aaah "fender flairs!" you need them cool truck have a nice day!
I think WI is a lil more laid back w under glow I see a bunch of semis with color under glow. I recently did blue under my truck an sent a picture to my cop friend an he said it’s not restricted in WI as long as it’s not facing forward or backward

I got pulled over in Madison Wisconsin and the police officer told me he pulled me over because I didn't have license plate on my front bumper. I asked if I could get out and look and he said no, because he he didn't want to endanger me by stepping out of the car.
I got all Dell Griffin on him and said, "Well, I guess you'd know better than me because you won't let me go see for myself. Someone must have stolen it. Well, that rascal. He must have needed it more than me."
He then asked where I was going and I told him I was going to Walgreens to get some tampons for a lady in need. I got off with a verbal warning and when I got to Walgreens I checked and my plate was there on the front bumper.

In PA you have to be really careful about your tires sticking out past your fenders. I have some -24 offset moto metals that make mine stick out just a couple inches. No issues yet.
We have the same kind of law here in NC, tires can't extend beyond the wheel wells without covering them with flares. They don't enforce it hardly ever, there are some dudes running around here with the entire wheel beyond the wheel wells, looks stupid as hell.

Where I live you can’t have light bars, kc lights, cubes,etc without a cover on them because it’s a “distraction” even if they’re not and you can’t turn them even if they are on down a back road
This guy is awesome. He covered everything almost verbatim from GA law. As a former GA LEO he hit everything spot on. Any blue light that illuminates on a vehicle is illegal. Tag covers must be clear, no tint allowed. Tag must be clearly readable. Rock lights or underglow I didn't ticket for except if they are blue tgen irs a ticket. If it's red or yellow and they they flashing or strobing then I gave a warning. Yes the tree on the mirror is illegal but I have never ticketed for that. I have used it to make stops to check for warrants (Totally legal people).
The fastest traffic stop I ever had was because I had a tinted plate cover. First time I was asked to step out of the car to look at it. In My mind I thought I was getting arrested. Cop handed me a paper with the law code and was gone before I touched my door handle

Regarding plate frames - I was driving someone else's car out of town and it had a plate frame from the dealer that just barely covered the top part of "texas." I got pulled over and got a ticket in a small town for it. Yea.. I know. I almost smarted off to the guy and said "you don't see the texas shape in the middle of the letters?" Luckily I didn't.

In the state of IL, your plate cover can't cover the registration and plate number. You can easily get pulled for the plate cover, covering the state name on the plate.
Here in NC the state police fussed about plate covers that made the plate difficult to read and frames that covered or partially covered the state name or registration stickers. They just had to have a law passed, I mean they complained and complained until they got their law, now they hardly ever enforce it. I see vehicles running around all the time with those items attached.
Back in high school, I blacked out the taillights on my e36, that got me a big ticket in about 3 days...vht nightshades lol
