Ive towed both lines of thinking before, as a kid I didn't improve myself at all and just coasted on what came naturally to me. Anyone watching this realize that the entire biological system these parasites use results in a zero sum system? One parasite attaches to a host, develops one egg with one parasite within, and then kills the host. That means that the species is doomed to extinction anyway as they can't actually add to their own numbers. Parasites in the real world produce huge numbers of individual offspring as the likelihood of a single one of them reaching reproduction is unlikely based solely on the odds of an individual offspring finding the right host and not being killed. For parasitoid organisms (those that only live part of their lives inside a host such as jeweled wasp or a tarantula hawk), they are more K selective as they ensure their offspring are given a substantial meal while they develop to their adult form, but they lay more than one egg and remove more than one of their hosts from the equation of the environment. Also how would these parasites have a family? They are seemingly asexual reproductive and as stated die after reproducing. This biologically doesn't actually make any sense.
Not really a theory more of a fact they are never growing they probably have the same number for many years only time it would change if one doesn't find a host but no growth
They were going to "adopt". The reason they were carrying the eyes was to make children. Or so I assume as there's no other real reason they'd be lugging them about when leaving.

Looking forward to the inevitable theory about how the Smith/Sanchez family life is going to continue with two Beths who both hate Rick, and Phoenix Person in the garage.
Welp, when you have an exestential crisis and don't know who to call remember that nothing matters in grand scheme of things and no philosophy can save us from the universe dying :)
Bad, this video just goes over the very basics of this, but imo it's more important to learn practical things, so if you decide to learn more about this, think about how you can use it to better yourself and society. Thoughts without action become terrible, nihilism isnt the answer.
I'd say it's bad, but not entirely your fault. Your usual high school philosophy class is more concerned with you learning that some asshole called Heraclitus said that fire is life than actually teaching to think. I have learned more philosophy from actually overthinking shows and movies and comics and all that than from classes. Thinking about stories and trying to figure out what they are trying to tell us on a deeper level is frowned upon by the binge culture we live in. Few people that I know go beyond what they see on screen and instead look for the next thing to watch. An excellent example is Blade Runner 2049. Most of my family and friends who watched it were more concerned about the length of the movie and that they'd not watch it again than if replicants can be considered people and the superiority complex of the ruling class. So, try to stop and think more about what you just watched and you'll see how much you start philosophizing and understanding things on a deeper level. It's applied philosophy, if you will, and much more effective than memorizing what your teachers told you to. Also, I'm not saying that binge culture is inherently bad, but there should be a healthy balance between watching a show in one day, and stopping for a second and think about the episode you just watched.
#save_the_axolotls Axolotls are a critically endangered animal and need to be saved. If we don’t save the axolotls then it’s predators will starve, including birds and big fish. Scientists are researching the axolotl so we can regrow almost anything like the amazing axolotl. Plus axolotls are cute and I have one so don’t make my axolotl sad.

Philosophy is actually kind of interesting. Although, I wouldn't really want to take a class on it. I like the idea of listening to a somewhat short video about philosophy while I draw. It's nice hearing MatPat's voice, I like Rick and Morty enough to care about the subject matter, and I'm learning more than I would if I were just listening to music while drawing.
Philosophy is so interesting and i love it alot. Im gonna take the course in university since it opens your mind and gives you critical thinking skills
not a philosoophy student but did a few philosophy readings throughout uni. philosophy is really all about how well can you form a logical train of thought, how well do you justify that logic, etc. it makes you think carefully about WHY you agree or disagree with ideas so instead of just saying "i don't like this" you have to really dissect the argument and back up your opinion with evidence. these critical thinking skills are really important especially if you spend a lot of time on the internet. if you like philosophy when it's related to something you're familiar with Wisecrack's channel
Oh boy, one of my favorite channels ( ua-cam.com/users/thephilosophytube ) is exactly that. His more recent videos are pretty long but he has an entire backlog of shorter educational content.
firebending is possible but your body would get really really hot so if u are using a shirt u are probrably going to burn, earth bending this is really but really freaking complicated
@@iti4753 Debatable, actually. Also, the FDA regulations for what can be labeled as 'natural' are kind of wonky. There's plenty of things that advertise themselves as natural when they have artificial flavors in them, etc. Your belief that 'organic' means 'better for the environment' is exactly what the fallacy is referring to. Its way more complex than that, and you'd have to do a lot of research on individual methods and companies etc to TRULY know which is the better choice for the world in your mind in the end. Honestly? Grow your own food if you want to worry about being better for the environment. Trying to listen to packaging manipulation to do that is just never gonna work out.

I know a lot of people who refuse the thought of having children because they would prefer not to bring a child into the world as messed up as it is. So I definitely agree with that
I'll meanwhile never understand the statement. The world's ALWAYS been messed up. Just what's messed up changes. 200 years ago it was plagues, before that it was mass death from exposure. Yeah plenty is wrong in the world today, but so much is better too.

Everybody says Rick and Morty is a highbrow, high-IQ show that not everyone can understand, and yet one of the best reoccurring characters is named Mr. Poopy Butthole
I´ll oppose the wording "Happy" and want to change it to "Satisfied" which may imply the same thing but means differently. Its thanks to this we can progress as a society no matter what happens
Questioning your own existence, morals, core beliefs, and why you have those/why you choose to continuously have them after being made aware of them is depressing and painful for most people

The two ideas in this episode have a similar feel to how, in season 4 episode 1, rick is trying to live in the moment whereas morty only cares about dying with Jessica, and they both end up worse off for it, before agreeing at the end that they need to do both in moderation. This could also represent the differences in views between rick and morty and their overall division throughout the season (even though in this episode it's technically steve and Bruce, not rick and morty, as the face huggers were controlling them).

Basically, the map just shows why it's not wise to use the old first/third world nomenclature in today's world. It stems from that cold war era and perpetuates old stereotypes.

As a genz I can tell you that all we want is to be happy and we can’t be happy till everyone is happy. We see all the discrimination and pain in the world and we feel is our job to speak on it. That’s partly why we’re so unhappy. We are also self aware is to the issues in our own lives and are not willing to just sit around and be complacent. We don’t agree with the way our parents raised us so due to our traumatic childhoods we don’t want to raise children. I’m personally ace but even if I adopted I don’t want my life to revolve around someone else, plus I don’t know how to raise a child. I was raised so wrong that I’m scared I’ll do the same as my parents.

Society is filled with rules and constrictions on things that make us happy which is a real shame, but it's that way for the sake of "progress".

I learned more philosophy in this one episode then ever in my life. Not sure of this is bad or good.
Welp, when you have an exestential crisis and don't know who to call remember that nothing matters in grand scheme of things and no philosophy can save us from the universe dying :)
Yeah that's kind of bad
Lol my high school made us take philosophy classes so I’m v educated in the realm of philosophy
#save_the_axolotls
Axolotls are a critically endangered animal and need to be saved. If we don’t save the axolotls then it’s predators will starve, including birds and big fish. Check out wisecrack! They do philosophy videos about TV shows. They actually did an episode on this exact episode.
not a philosoophy student but did a few philosophy readings throughout uni. philosophy is really all about how well can you form a logical train of thought, how well do you justify that logic, etc. it makes you think carefully about WHY you agree or disagree with ideas so instead of just saying "i don't like this" you have to really dissect the argument and back up your opinion with evidence. these critical thinking skills are really important especially if you spend a lot of time on the internet. if you like philosophy when it's related to something you're familiar with Wisecrack's channel
