One of the best fictional books I've read involving dark matter was about someone mistakenly creating a dark matter drive while trying to create a superconductor. Basically what was intended to become a superconductor was creating some sort of field similar to electromagnetism that propelled dark matter through it like a jet engine propels air/gas. They basically create a reactionless drive that, because it uses dark matter doesn't have any effect on the surrounding environment. In an attempt at humor, they also made it so that it was most efficient running through a circular drive causing the eventual ship they made to look like a flying saucer.

There have been recent and still ongoing astronomical research to prove dark matter clumps together. The research I have seen suggests it does group together but their is still debate about this and in a few years we should have the evidence to support if it does clump together or not.

Energy and matter are related, I'm pretty sure. When something is anihilated, the energy of the matter becomes unbound. Yes energy and matter are conserved, but energy and matter can be interchanged in a summation using the right equations.

When you annihilate a particle, what you’re doing is destroying the form of the particle and releasing all of the energy contained within the particle. Typically, that energy is released in the form of light or photons. Because you are releasing pre-contained energy, all energy in the annihilated system is conserved.

Dark matter does interact gravitationally, so wouldn't it still clump together into something like stars/planets? It wouldn't have any kind of chemical processes or fusion, so the "stars" wouldn't shine for example, but it *would* self-concentrate, right?
Then you'd have blackholes and invisible orbits everywhere.
if they have mass they should make gravity, so if it creates gravity to itself it would create a somewhat shadow universe but of only one substance because it cannot bond.

I think what he meant was It couldn't touch itself in the way that we can't touch it thus it could not amass to anything that could actually have gravity. Though I could be wrong considering it doesn't make sense that something could not be able to make physical contact with itself
There have been recent and still ongoing astronomical research to prove dark matter clumps together. The research I have seen suggests it does group together but their is still debate about this and in a few years we should have the evidence to support if it does clump together or not.

I have a question, when Neil says the antimatter and matter come together and create energy, is energy actually created? Because I was taught that energy cannot be created or destroyed so what is going on? Is the matter's energy just released? Can anyone explain?

Energy and matter are related, I'm pretty sure. When something is anihilated, the energy of the matter becomes unbound. Yes energy and matter are conserved, but energy and matter can be interchanged in a summation using the right equations.
