Thanks for sharing! I been a fan since the third album but didnt get to see them until post New Roman Times era. They still delivered! Glad to hear a nugget from the earlier era.

I'm simply flabbergasted that this exists. This was my senior year. Right about that same time, Van Halen played near where I live. Everyone wanted to go to that one. No one had ever heard of Camper van Beethoven. Oh, I wish I could have been there.
I was in the Bay Area in the summer of ‘86 and I was fortunate enough to see CVB and Eugene Chadbourne at the Starry Plough in Berkeley. What an amazing show. I even got talked with David Lowery between sets.
I wish I could travel back in time and again see all the CVB shows I've been to. SO friggin fun to hear/see them live. This show puts such a smile on my face. It lifts my mood incredibly. THANKS FOR SHARING IT!

This would have been not long after Telephone Free Landslide Victory, one of my favorite albums of all time. Funny if I had walked into this show I would never in a million years have bought TFLV. Picks up steam at 9 of Disks but the first half is almost intolerable. :)
OH NO!, Ambiguity Song, Where The Hell Is Bill, Lassie....all hits not on the set. Still cool, glad to see anything by them and yes TFLSV is classic stuff, along with the s/t 86 lp. they were very active with putting stuff out at this time. shit, i love the clean last 2 major label albums as much as anything and its so very different.

I'm glad to be one of 71 people who have viewed this so far!
SO glad this was captured! This is the sound that got me hooked on CVB, the early stuff
I saw them 4 months later at THE FILLMORE opening for HUSKER DU &FAITH NO MORE!!!

Impressive band, making it look easy.
I guess they were always good. Love the version of Wasted here, he speaks his words super clearly. Turtlehead is so cool too.
Hey, I was at this show, or another one there where they opened for the Surfers - such a great great show it was
Me too. Killer show. Strobe lights and shredded teddy bears.
@@kenpholt Definitely a Cherub
They were super tight
lol
I was thinking the same thing. Their bass player is one of my all time favorites and was a huge influence when I started playing bass in the late 80s.
WOWZA
I saw Buck Nekkid there
and the Bare Bottomed Boys!

FALSE!! First two songs so far are perfectly dissonant!!
A lot of these songs are from II & III which also came out in 1986.
