Teach your children well on how nature works, that’s important in their lives. Take them out to explore and experience your passion for the outdoors. It will put them far ahead of those kids who play video games all day and make them better people in time. Enjoy nature, learn skills that they will carry with them throughout their lives, remembering the good times with family. I grew up on my grandparents farm, tracking animals, knowing their tracks, riding horses and loving the heck out of it in the 60-70s . Two daughters and three grandchildren who I can’t get away from screens, and damn , I wish I could get them away from that for at least one night to experience how I grew up. No rules back then, just come home without breaking any bones or setting the woods on fire. Learned a lot on my own back then, and it’s stuck with me.
Mors and his super shelter are legendary. Congrats mom, what a joy filled blessing for you and your husband. I'm glad to see you back out, and having fun. I wish many more blessings on you and your family in 2025.
Mors Kochanski is the godfather of bushcraft I think I have seen nearly every video he has ever made! His whole video of how to use and pick out a proper axe is amazing!
I've watched you for about 2 years and always enjoy your videos and especially your view on products. Your bushcraft skills are always educational. Just hope you enjoy whatever you decide to do.
Was wondering why I haven't seen you in my feed. I then searched you and watched a video from 10 months ago and now this. It all makes sense. Yes please, bring back the basics. Good learning for everyone.
I always enjoyed the how-to segments you filmed about bushcraft in the past and am looking forward to them. Welcome back and congrats on your baby girl.
Congrats again on the new addition to your family, videography business and hacking your way back to your passion, making authentic YT videos doing what you love! Looking forward to the series and whatever else comes out of your downtime exploring and having fun here! 🎉❤
Glad you’re back! Not many women bushcrafters on UA-cam… suggestion: how to split firewood-a woman’s perspective is much needed! Strength? Axe? Placement? Congratulations on your little girl 👶
Your 3rd sub here! So glad to see you doing well! Would love to see more of the OG content. Miss y'all and hope everything is awesome up your way! Much love and #keepitburning Girl! 🔥
YES PBC!! How the hell are you doing!? Thank you so much for all the support and kind comments over the years, absolutely overjoyed to see you in the comments 🥰
You didn't tell them the real secret to cowboy coffee... slow shallow pour to help keep any extra grounds that didn't get pushed down by the cold water, out of your cup. I thought I saw a photo of you in a promo poster for the Hamilton show. Congrats!
So glad to see you again. I think it's awesome that you are back and doing videos again. Also glad that everything is going well with the family and everything off UA-cam. Blessings to you and your family and good to have you back.🥰🥰
Good to see your face again and hear your voice! Good news about your new addition and going back to basics...that's why I started watching in the first place. Once again, it is good to know all is going well with you and your growing family.
Mors Kochanski is one of the greatest Northern Woods survival instructors of my life time. I deeply regret never attending one of his classes. Congratulations on having a child. They're truly a blessing.
Glad to have you back and congratulations on your new daughter. I enjoy all of your videos and going back to basics sounds great. Do what makes you happy. Family comes first. Happy New Year and wishing you and your family all the best. See you on your next adventure.
@@careenaalexis I’ve been watching your videos since you started posting. You reminded me of someone but I couldn’t figure out who. It just hit me. You resemble Farrah Fawcett. You could have been her twin sister. Just had to get that off my chest …lol. Keep those videos coming but do what makes you happy.!
Great to see you looking so well after having your lovely daughter Careena. The quiet tranquility of the forest was just the tonic. There’s nothing better than the silence of a snowy woodland and the sound of a crackling fire. Looking forward to seeing what you do best and more importantly, what you enjoy. 👍
I would LOVE a series on knots. I’ve used several of your videos at meeting with my Girl Scouts (always love showing them videos of women are super capable in the backwoods at bushcraft) to prepare for our camping trips. They’re 11/12 now, so knot tying is going to be a big part of our next couple of years. Congrats again. Glad to see/hear you’re doing well!
That is an awesome idea! Knots are so important! I'll get that on the list. Thanks so much for the support, I’m so happy to hear my videos are helping young ladies get into the outdoors!
Just stumbled onto this video. Good luck. The thing is that there are a million videos (and other sources) on every "back to basics" topic you mentioned.
Everyone learns in a different way, so someone will prefer my style over the others, and if not thats fine too! I’m really not concerned with whoever else does these videos :)
That take-down bow saw is just beauuuuutiful! Waaaaaant! (Edit: oh wow! Such lovely quality gear and you even put the weblinks below? Now that's really cool of you - thank you!)
Nice to have you back Careena. You are one of the best on youtube . No one swings an axe like you do .. Your future plans sound great . And good luck in Hamilton.
Hey great news! Father of two adult young women myself here! 22,24. I taught both girls early on about camping, hammock camping, kayaking and hiking. They like it all!! The youngest is better at fire making I must say but the oldest is in better shape so we go backpacking and hammocking together. The youngest likes the kayaking but the oldest hates it😅😅. It’s kinda cool how they’re both so different. All good stuff here on your channel. I hear that a lot about a cont creator. Sounds very labor intensive and we appreciate what you do. I subbed today. Again, congrats to you and your partner!!! Cool stuff for sure!!!
"...going back to basics...", excellent news - glad you made that decision for yourself and, of course, that you got to establish your own videography business. Very much looking forward to the 'no fluff' stuff on your channel to come. Simply wanna say THANK YOU, Careena, for all the effort you put into this channel. All the best to you & your family, life's good - love that.🙌 Big hug from Switzerland.

Good to see you back again, congratulations on the arrival and Happy New Year lovey. Great to see you going back to bare basics...the bushcraft side is something I can relate to

Welcome back, and congrats on the new child. You are one of my favorite video presenters. I enjoy doing the same thing you are doing today just to get out for a while to relax. Good luck in your future endeavor.
Great to see you back, and congrats on the little one! During my time in Post-sec, my instructor teaching the survival class was actually a student of Mors and I also found that Mors was born and raised just outside the city I was living in.

Welcome back, delightful to see you! Hoping all is well. I can't do cowboy coffee but I can do the Aeropress thing with you. Cowboy coffee is just too strong and I'm not outside to enjoy it anyway. You look amazing BTW! Those woods are lucky to have you.
A Sub for years. Congratulation on your youngest addition! I enjoy your videos, so please keep them coming. Mors has been a good person to watch as his approach is "Basic" and I'm glad to see you get back to the basics. There are always people needing basics to get their start in getting outdoors. People don't always want to go back in videos, and years back, so I hope some of your videos get a lot of views. I do not mind (and do go back) going back and seeing what good presenters like you had years ago. I also don't mind seeing a new version of clothes, tips, fire-starting, tools and others with a new breath. I look forward to your future.

Glad to see you back again and happy to hear your new one is a good baby. At the end of the day do what clears your head and makes you happy. Can't make Hamilton this year but maybe next year you will do fine as a presenter have fun with it
I've followed you from the beginning and am amazed at how much you've grown! You do what's good for you and of course your family! I personally always enjoyed your day trips, sometimes simpler is better, don't get me wrong I've enjoyed all your vids I just like the day trips more 😊Take care and stay safe!
Thanks so much Stogie!! Always a pleasure seeing you in the comments and so grateful for your support over the years!! And glad to hear you enjoy the day trips, they're a lot of fun for me too, I enjoy making them!
He's the Godfather of. Bushcraft. He showed us how bushcrafting is supposed to be. Just good old fashioned gear, a. Economical knife, in Morses teaching, a Mora knife in a kneck sheath
Love that you're reigniting your spark for the channel. When finance is in the drivers seat it can really smother the fire you had burning in the beginning. I think I subscribed when you were around 1000. I can't say that the story you shared about losing the spark was surprising. Again, so happy to hear you're getting back to basics and congratulation on your new little girl.
RIP Mors, the godfather of bushcraft as far as im concerned. He VERY literally "wrote the book of bushcraft". And was the inspiration behind the (imo) "best" bushcraft knife the skookum bushtool!
It's great to see you back. We've all missed you!! Congrats on your new child. Now for some new adventures!!!❤

He's the Godfather of. Bushcraft. He showed us how bushcrafting is supposed to be. Just good old fashioned gear, a. Economical knife, in Morses teaching, a Mora knife in a kneck sheath
Absolutely!
This all sounds excellent. 🙂 I look forward to seeing it!
Thanks so much! I appreciate the support! 🙏🏼
I love your videos, Careena, and congrats on your new baby girl. I will see you in Hamilton next week!
Awesome!! Thanks so much for the support and definitely cone say hi at the show! I’ll be hanging out at the Freak Of Nature Co booth lots of the day
Love that you're reigniting your spark for the channel. When finance is in the drivers seat it can really smother the fire you had burning in the beginning. I think I subscribed when you were around 1000. I can't say that the story you shared about losing the spark was surprising. Again, so happy to hear you're getting back to basics and congratulation on your new little girl.
That's awesome that you've been with me since the beginning! It's good to be back. Thanks so much for the kind comment and all your support 🥰🙏🏼🙏🏼
RIP Mors, the godfather of bushcraft as far as im concerned. He VERY literally "wrote the book of bushcraft". And was the inspiration behind the (imo) "best" bushcraft knife the skookum bushtool!
Could not agree more 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Very glad to see you back! And congrats on the new family member!
Hi Careena 👋🏻 Always great to hear from you my friend 👍🏻 Appreciate you always 🙏🏻 God Bless
I like your new vision for the channel... it was so much better to me when things were simple. Looking forward to seeing the "old Careena"! LOL! Frank
Thank you Frank! I'm excited to get back to those basics too! 😄
