"graphics aint shit if the gameplay is uncomfortable" Most reviwers should remember these wise words
Both are needed
Art design is more important than graphics. That's why games from 1993 can still look so good.
@@R3GARnator chrono trigger still looks good but ff7 hurt my eyes
This game was a $50 upgrade in just graphics. They could of added more content or expand the game a bit.
I NEED Earthbound to get remade with this design style
The Judge but the pixel art
The scenarios and music in this remake is so cool, i personally love the blurry effect in the borders, now the Oracles Of Ages/ Seasons need the same treatment.
I learned my lesson about “cute” graphics from Wind Waker. Originally I refused to play WW because of the look. Wow was I wrong.
The music in the face dungeon was so damn good... they did NOT need to go THAT hard but I love them for it.
My only complaint, I don’t need the acorn tutorial every damn pickup
I definitely thought they would change that to lol.
Fair complaint.
The feather jumping ability gives a little twist to the game mechanic that makes it feel so refreshing.
The Face Shrine music is probably my favorite piece of music this year. So amazing.
THAT WAS A CONTENDER FOR MY FAVORITE. It is ABSOLUTELY my favorite dungeon track tho!!!
Yes the Oracle adventures certainly need this kind of remake, i would love that.
The little blue dinosaur with the hat needs his own game ASAP.
"Graphics dont mean shit if the gameplay is uncomfortable. "
Subbed
The big thing that I loved about this was the new soundtrack! I was playing the original a couple of months before the remake came out and every time I got a new instrument, my eardrums be rupturing. When I got to animal village, my cat kept trying to trying to find the singing animals until she realized they’re coming from the TV. 😆
You are riding this UA-cam wave HARD. This is the kind of energy we try to bring, too. haha!!
Love your entire vibe. Instant subscriber. I just picked this game up and about to play it for the first time ever tonight. Looking forward to watching more content on your channel. 👊🏾
Thank you so much!!!
I brought the original game to summer camp back in 1994. I really need a Switch, but more than that I need time to play lots of games again :(
Oh I feel you homie u.u
there were a couple of changes that were needed such as in eagle's tower. the mirror shield should have been made optional while there is a key block that does nothing.
The first video I watched of your was your first Link’s Awakening review. I loved how you pointed out its flaws (sometimes it’s easy to only say good things about a game). I’m so glad you came back to review this version.
Oh and yes, we need the Oracle games in this style.
Thank you. :-) I feel if you ignore a games flaws you're not actually appreciating the entire package.
I agree. Link's Awakening is my favorite Zelda game. And each of the three versions has flaws. But each is great too in their own way.
Lady Pelvic, you gotta get out of my head, 'cause I agreed with literally everything you said. Even the boss theme being a real bop!
Great review vid as always, and can't wait until the next one!
PS: if you wanted to go wayyyyyyy old retro... any chance of a Crystalis review? The original on NES was released in 1990, but it was relatively recently released for Switch as part of the SNK 40th Anniversary bundle. It was a gem of my childhood that I'd love for someone to shed more light on. I don't normally do requests like this, but I figure if anyone would do it it's someone who reviewed Legend of Dragoon... ;)
The item map mechanic is so much better than the old version. The two-button setup made it less fun than it should have been. The switch is a huge improvement and you’re right about that. Also, if a game is not fun, it doesn’t matter how good it looks. Not unlike choosing a lover.
This was always my favorite game of the series. While I still prefer the graphics of the original, the quality-of-life updates in this game made it worthwhile.
Great review! I haven't played the game, but your love of the Zelda series is slowly making me want to try this one and more games in the series.
Just give me a port of Twilight Princess and Wind Waker HD on the Switch and I'll be happy. I missed those on WiiU. Great review !
sounds like the boss music would be a good alarm clock
Fantastic video! Played this game for the first time with the remake and absolutely fell in love with it! Rox feather is my favourite item in any Zelda game. Love how this game looks too. Really hope Nintendo does some more remakes with this artstyle. Personally hoping for a Minish Cap remake! Awesome review! Keep up the great work! :)
I will cry tears of joy if Nintendo graces us with a Minish Cap remake!
at first i wasn't sure if i'd like the claymation look, but i'm really happy that they did that. It kinda makes the game stand out more between other zelda titles.
great review! I beat this game yesterday and absolutely loved everything about it (gameplay, music, graphics, dungeons, story, dialogue), definitely hit me in the feels too. Also, if you beat the game without dying, you get a bonus little scene at the end of the credits..
I SAWWW. I actually didnt get it my first go...hoping to get it for hero mode! I love that they kept that!!
This is one of the many zeldas I never got around to playing. Good vid!
This is the first game I ever owned, well the game boy version. I have gone through this one too. As a 6 year old who had just learned to read, it was quite the journey indeed. I finally beat it two years after getting it. I was very pleased to see almost every little game mechanic that wasn’t a glitch returned. I was surprised when almost every trick from the game boy was doable in this one. Also, I hate Guardian Acorns.
I'd be all for the Oracle series getting a remake. Once again, your review is spot on. I haven't played the remake - probably won't; no Switch - but my family and I played the hell out of the original. Ah, memories.
Oh man, if you ever get the chance to I would highly recommend it. :-)
I remember watching you play this. Fun times. I was only ever marginally a fan of this game, so I'm satisfied watching people stream it. Now if they did Oracle of Ages/Seasons like this, it would be a wrap. I would also be down for a Mario Maker style game for the LoZ dungeons. It seems like it would be fun.
just got a switch and ordered this game can't wait! your reviews are awesome thanks for all the content it's much appreciated
I am happy to hear that you enjoy them. :) thank you so much for your support!
I remember playing the original. It hooked me immediately. It was a masterpiece. Definitely going to play the new version. Great review by the way .
Oracle games are RIPE for this style of remake, especially since they were built off of the same foundation as Link's Awakening. Personally I'd love to see Zelda 1 or 2 remakes that cut out all the old-school gaming nonsense, give them proper translations (obvi keep "I am error" tho), and better controls that take advantage of more than two buttons wouldn't hurt either. But otherwise keep the changes small and stay mostly faithful so it's this cool preservation of their place in the series history.
i was mixed about the remake, but overall eagle's tower is much smoother and does not have the potential soft lock bug that i learned about recently.
I'm digging the Lady Gaga makeup!
And I am very happy you love the remake. I wonder if they might take the dungeon maker thing and expand it into a full game down the line. I could see a Zelda Maker being a thing, for sure.
I had the same final thoughts when I finished the game. I didn't care for the chamber dungeons and really missed the photo mouse... at least I think he was a mouse? The ridiculous Frogs Song of Soul was one of my favourites for sure, but it's hard to pick my number one track... too many good ones. if I can mention one thing in particular I really loved how all the dungeon music was fleshed out! One of my top 3 Zelda games for sure.
I remember this game fondly on the Game Boy. The only thing that sucked was that I never got a chance to finish it because I believe that I triggered a bug in a room where the Boss Key was located. No matter what I did to solve the puzzle the key never manifested. So I couldn't progress any further. grrrr. I may have to purchase a switch or a switch light so that I can finally finish this classic.
What a very well throughout and helpful review. You have earned my respect and sub.
Honestly I thought they were about to do this remake in a Breath of The Wild style but the actual game is pretty unique and close to the original game
I just subscribed to your page a few days ago. I used to make RPG Games for RPG maker 2003. I hope someday I can share them with other people. I am still learning how to use the RPG Maker MV.
you convinced me to try it. thanks Lady Pelvic
I LOVE this game but the ending always brakes my heart.
Big saaaaaame
Imo one of the best zelda games!
Yeah, Oracle games in this style would be lovely.
I'd love for Minish Cap to get remade, but I feel like that'd be more Wind Waker-y than toy box style.
I'm convinced that this game is worth buying now, kekeke. The only zelda that needs to be remade now is Skyward Sword.
Glad you like the game so much! I definitely have to try it myself.
Oh you MUST! It is AMAZING. I cannot express how much I adore this game! ♡
Top 5 Zelda Games
1. Breath of the Wild
2. Ocarina of Time
3. Majoras Mask
4. A Link Between Worlds
5. Link's Awakening
All the others are okay except didn't feel SS much.
I think this is one of your best videos!
Game looks indeed awesome, haven't played it, since i don't have a Switch but've enjoyed your review very much.
The original game is my all time favorite of the whole series.
Playing the remake I instantly got hit by nostalgia, I absolutely love it. And I found my new favorite Zelda!
Great job on the review. I need to get this sometime for my Switch and just play through it.
Oh you must! Cause you are missing. Out.
I never played Link's Awakening. Maybe I'll try the remake.
I wonder if one day Nintendo will make The Minish Cap and the Oracle games in the same style.
Happy to see you enjoyed it. Still not convinced it’s worth $60.
definitely not worth the 60$, especially if youve already played the original anyway.
Finally beat it, so I could watch your video, :), this was my favorite Game Boy, on the original game boy and it was awesome coming back to it. I really enjoyed it. Good review :)
Have you tried Ittle Dew? The 2nd one is much better if you like Zelda type games.
Just beat the last dungeon I'm on my way the way to the mountain
OOOO YOU GOT THIS !!!
I completely forgot about this remake, I will have to get it just for the control changes alone.
This remake looks really nice, great game, no doubt. I didn't play it yet, but I think it is still below the great Zelda masterpiece, A Link to The Past because the colors don't match as much. And I still think The Minish Cap is the cutest Zelda game ever.
Us Aliens play This On Mars
This entry is my favorite Zelda title, and I'm loving the remake. The control scheme upgrade alone was fantastic. Best stupid thing in the game is the physics engine they added to the crane game. I *NUDGED* that stupid Piranha Plant and had to deal with it on its side between the two moving platforms. That was hilarious and awful.
More reviews! More reviews!
Dope review...did you hear that BOTW 2 is coming out in 2021? So many games....so little time.
I bought DX on the eShop after hearing this would come out, I tried playing it and it just wasn't for me. I'm guessing it's because I didn't play it as a kid so I have zero nostalgia for it. I'm glad fans got a nice-looking/handling remake, though.
May I ask why it was for you? Maybe the Remake would cure some of your issues. Either way thanks for giving this game a shot!
@@PelvicGaming Another commenter mentioned "old-school gaming nonsense" and I think that kinda explains why I didn't like this game. I knew what I had to do, but many times the game wanted me to do something else before I could progress. I'm also just not a huge fan of LoZ games. The only one I've finished to date was Wind Waker, though I've owned many titles in the series.
Glad to be a new subscriber! Dope that u are a lil monster as well
Thanks! And oh yes a Lady Gaga fan for life! :-)
@@PelvicGaming What would be your rpg of choice ?
I'd love a remake of Adventure of Link in almost any style, but I'd totally settle for a new game that lets you travel to Eastern Hyrule. There are so many interesting things over there, but the only game in the series I can think of that MAYBE lets you go there is Wind Waker; it's hard to tell when everything's underwater.
Love your reviews
Wow, that remake looks damn good!
I’m surprised you haven’t done a death stranding review yet
I played it shortly after it came out but I got stuck. Several years later the Gameboy Color came out and it was rereleased. I got all the way to one of the last dungeons and there was a step I didn’t take and was again stuck. Quickly ran through the game again and beat it finally. Your make up looks great by the way.
I see new pelvic I watch new pelvic
Great Review :D but now I need a Minish Cap and Oracle Remake and we good
😂😂😂you need more recognition XD
Love this
Yaaay for unicorns
Zelda 2!
I enjoyed your video and I think I know why you must enjoyed the Legend of Zelda Is because the pretty graffiti
Didn't it bother you that link didn't have full 360 degree motion like how he did in link between worlds? I bet it feels awkward controlling your character with only 8 direction while using the analog.
No?
@@PelvicGaming
Does the game let you use the D pad to move around?

@@psiness1464
Hmm.
Dalgus Maximus it didn’t feel weird at all
I get a little sad playing this game. I have a real dilemma ending the game because I know what that means.
Hey...where is The Ocarina of Time review?
The music is trash in this game been my favorite Zelda game obviously i have this game and i just hated the music 😒
Graphics are cute but not worth $50 bucks for just a graphical update and a few minor tweaks.
Fernicus Maximus id argue the improved control scheme is a significant upgrade for playability. Spend your money how you want but there were more than minor tweaks here
Those are the minor tweaks I was talking about. Sure the game plays better than the original but do you think that is worth $60 bucks (amount when it came out)?
How come this girl can't pronounce 'S'?
I'd rather just get to know you darlin. Being a gamer girl is just icing on the cake. Hit me up sometime.
