Good video! Lived in Siloam from 1989-1993, while I went to JBU. Great little town. 35 years ago, things are bound to change, but some haven’t. Considering buying a rental property there for a family or JBU students. Love Siloam!
@@LivinginArkansas Thank you so very much. If you can just arrange it so that there will be no "ice and snow" waiting for us next week, that would be great! We've had snow on the ground for months here in Idaho.
Having lived in Siloam from 2004_2018, it built up a lot during that time. It's think it's so much nicer than Springdale/ Rogers and other cities nearby. 28 springs restaurant closed recently but yes it was worth going. Little Debbie has outlet stores in Gentry and tontitown.
West Siloam Springs is actually pretty nice. The Phillips 66 right as you come into Oklahoma has fresh chicken and other hot food 24/7 7 days a week and it tastes great, given gas station food. The safari is no longer open. As for Gentry and Siloam Springs, if you plan to move in either, the chicken farms and the landfill add a nice great aromatic smell during the hot months {sarcasm}. So keep that in mind if you have sensitive noses. Also with Gentry, we have a huge weird little beetle issue that nothing cures, including garage nets and bug zappers. Outside of that, great area's to live in!!
Are there affordable options for living on or near river? River lot or just an acre or less? Is your real estate market still insanely competitive, driving prices up substantially? What about zoning? Building garage or pole barn on lot with existing home? How strict are they? Are your political views and local govt conservative? Is community welcoming to new comers?
There are a few questions in your post there... You clearly don't live in or around Siloam. That's not a national or even regional airport. The closest airport is XNA, a 20-minute drive. Nobody who actually lives in or around Siloam wants to go to the ER at the hospital because they are awful. We drive to Washington Regional usually. It's a better hospital. The Safari is closed and has been for some time. Maybe interview someone who lives here.
I hope you mentioned city owned electricity and the ridiculous prices! Siloam springs owns their electric and within that bill is water sewer and trash. I own a very well insulated 1100 square-foot house and my bill is rarely below $300! I live alone and use very little water, etc … I want out for that reason. I’m 6th generation Siloam Springs resident. The love of the city is taken away by the city admin! I could write paragraphs about things that have to do with being 20 minutes away city administration that causes me to not want to be here!
Siloam does not own their own electricity. Siloam Springs buys electricity from the Grand River Dam Authority. Siloam has never produced their own electricity.

I'm Mexican. One day I went there on vacation to a friend's house named Morgan Lloyd and it was great.
So glad you touched on Gentry. I’ve been trying to find content on living there. Thank you for the great video!
Glad it was helpful!
We have too many people here for a small town, and traffic is awful.
That is a Perspective and where you came from thing for sure
Moving to Arkansas next week...can't wait. Green trees and grass and NO snow!
HEY, that is awesome!
Let us know if we can help!

Look up Siloam springs on areavibes/siloam springs .
What do you think about springdale?
We have Future plans to make videos about Springdale
Supposed to be a promotion of Siloam Springs, not Bentonville. Lousy coverage of Siloam Spring. Bentonville is not the center of the universe.

Siloam Springs ER is horrible. I wish I could sue them for the pain they caused us.

Since Arkansas is a red state ,I worry about progressive missionaries flocking here to change our politics.
