- Scrap metal yard trip for lead acid batteries & scrap steel.
Good scrap price paid for the batteries @ 48c kg.
Join in on the fun and win some cool jewelry by entering my competition.
Simply guess how much (by weight) batteries I dropped off in KG or LB
and the first person to guess correctly will win, or the closest to the exact amount if no-one guesses correctly.
Winner has the choice of the two bracelets or the one wheat style bracelet.
I'll probably select a 2nd winner who gets close enough as well.

Ben, my back was hurting with sympathy pains, brother! God bless you for keeping those things out of our landfills and giving us all a way to cheer for hard work!
Get yourself a couple pallets and palatalize them when you load the van, no need to move them heavy buggers twice!
Good luck taking them out of the van with the forklift. Good idea but not sure if it's worth the potential vehicle damage. I've always wanted to make a special crate for shred so I don't have to lift it twice lol.
@@brianspencer6955 use a chain to drag it out if necessary, van seems to have quite a few dings and scratches as is. We crate ours, but also drive a dedicated box truck
There is at least one tonne car batteries
His tailga5e ris3s up. No good for forklift removal.
They are heavy fuck me
Another scrapper I was watching said that you should always make sure your batteries are topped up for the maximum weight and payout.
Oh wow that's quite a few batteries! My uneducated guess is that that whole load is maybe around 461kg? Super cool you're doing this little competition! Best greetings and keep scrapping!
I was going to say that but I went higher as I hope Ben has lots to make himself more money 💰 I could be wrong though!
Hi Ben, Greetings from Michigan, USA.
I really enjoy your channel and am constantly amazed at the volume of what you scrap.
I'm not new to scrapping, but e-waste is an area that I've not really done, but want to do. I'm drawing quite a bit of inspiration from you and a couple other channels, so Thank You.
"Alright, alright, alright " a new video with the australian Bat(tery) Man ya. I think 999 kg 🔋🔋🔋 Greets from Berlin 😉👍
Hi Ben. Thanks for the great guessing competition and all your videos. Good luck to everyone. My guess is 969 KG. love to all from England. Stay safe.
Hi Ben : I was trying to help with the batteries but you kept getting in my way 🤣 but you got a good work out. My guess 1,365 pounds. i enjoy your channel. 👍
1500 pounds
Love ur vids, watch them all the time!! My guess is 2,562 lbs, much love and stay safe from Texas
Wow! Scrapyard is my second home! 960 kg?!
I think 854kg
That is a bunch of batteries!! I haven't turned that many in at once in years. I'm 8 months past my 3rd neck surgery and looking forward to scrapping full-time soon! My guess is 2207 pounds.
325 kg is my guess for the batteries!!!! Keep up with all the fun scrapping you do and I hope to see you in AUS one day when I can get out there to see that beautiful country.
1482 LBS 'ish.. lol These things add up quickly.
2365 lbs for Ben's batteries lol who knows, fun just playing at least lol Good haul
Nice collection Ben. Great work. Our guess is 672 kilos. Couldn’t be bother to try and count them all. Thanks for all you do for the viewers. Cheers
Good luck to all, the content makes us all winners.
O: It's close to a metric ton ~1000kg
My guess is going to be 2050 Ibs. Goodluck to everyone.
I guessed 2,700 LBS I figure there is about 200 batteries.
I think 479.3 kg, Ben. It would be interesting to see if there are many which still hold a charge. If they do, they might be of use to fossickers with highbanker sluices.
I bet you drove carefully when taking that lot of batteries to the scrapyard, Ben.
My guess would be 666 Kilo's (the batteries of the beast!)
With Aussie conversion, that'll be 16 Roo's, 26 Wombats, 66 Koalas or 95 Echidna's... Hope this helps ;-)
I've only ever seen battery bins at UK scrappies, never had to deal with a bloody pallet... That sucks!
for such amount will be cool to have own two palets and set them on the floor of car first then later on they will just take palets out from car 👍😀👍
Unless they have a different forklift than the one shown it wouldn't work with his van the upright of the fork would hit his hatch door.
@@mattcourty6322 yes you right tho one pallet will do thru side door
If you think for two seconds there are many ways to get the pallet out of the van. One way is customize a ramp, put plywood on sides or have a wooden crate to enclose batteries, Rachet strap ‘em tight & then have a winch pull ‘em down.
Taking 30-45 minutes to devise a plan is worth a hell of a lot more than the 1-2 hrs it took him to unload at the scrap yard & touching all the batteries twice. Especially if you would do this once every few months.
Seems been works a lot harder than he has too.
Still good on him for recycling them, and work he does.
@@urbansmokes yeps it is all about to tough or lif the material as less time as possible but you know how many scrappers that many ways of handling some tasks it is good to watch others how they doing certain stuff and get a little lesson of it
i'm sure Mrs eWaste was happy to see that metal and batteries gone
I'm pretty sure Ben is like me and let's "Mrs" eWaste live in there own house.
Maybe I'm wrong...
really nice load and 21 cent for clean steel is also really good my guess is 1016 kilo no counting haha
Hi Ben! There’s got to be about 670 kg in batteries! I can’t imagine too much more than that but I could be way off. Glad to see you still absolutely smashing the scrap game like a boss. I’m in the uk so don’t know if I’m allowed to enter but I’ll still throw my hat in the ring just in case :)
When it comes to battery's would you not be better off and save your back by getting a pallet and loading them on a pallet in your van that way they can just lift it out rather than you handballing them in the van and out again
need a forklift to load it and the pallet needs to be weighed out, they are all different in weight wet or dry they don't fit in my van, australian pallets are larger than euro palllets, a mercedes is euro
eWaste Ben my two dream Country’s are Canada 🇨🇦 and Australia 🇦🇺
Ah OK the scrappy I use in the uk just nocks off 15kg if you drop stuff loaded on a pallet regardless of if the pallets wet or dry granted I've used the same ones for 10+ years and I ment keep a pallet to one side in the drive or your ally way and as and when you want to get rid of your batteries put the pallet in the van first then load your batteries onto that would have saved you from manually unloading but if you can't find one to fit scratch that idea
@@Best_singer_eazy_e 🇨🇦 eh!
I use the milk crates for stuff like that.
that was a LOT of batteries i change my vote from $400 american, to 1200 american.
1369kg. Love the channel, boss! You have gotten me into scrapping. Keep it up and take care of yourself!
That's one heck of a load! I'll guess it around 1440 pounds
almost 20 minutes of watching Ben Load batteries a couple at a time. That's time I'll never get back.
I'm going to say 1444 pounds for the batteries.
You should keep a bucket for the screws you get when scraping out stuff. Those would add up quickly and be clean steel.
Ben. I think your van will take a pallet through the doors. Put a pallet in and stack straight on.
They might need long reach tynes on the fork to clear the top hinge door.
Even several of the undersize throw away pallets might work.
1029 Kangaroo's
if i heard right and that wooden palate was 38 kilos hes ripping you off no more than 15kilos for the wooden
anthony gorton Just posted the same thing. The driver either made it up or did not lift his forks completely off the scale. Sad!
@@simpleoverlander I WAS A WAREHOUSEMAN FOR OVER 35 YEARS HAD TO WEIGH EM FOR SHIPPING
Theres a fair chance that was a hard wood pallet. wet those things can easy weigh 40kg
Thats an Australian Chep pallet mate. 42kg average.

Next time load a pallet into back of your van and load batteries on it at your house, then when you get to recycling place they can just use fork lift to remove 👍🏻

Nice bit of stacking there Ben. I am thinking 395 kg. Cheers
Great videos! Appreciate your hard work. Always something to learn! My guess is 1365 pounds. Jim in Phoenix, AZ.
That was quite the load of batteries I think 1960 pounds. Great job of recycling this world needs people to do their part.
1865 pounds. Take a nice hot bath with some Epsom salts after all that. Keep trucking mate!
You need some small pallets m8. Or at least the forklift guy should put some wooden blocks underneath the pallets, lol. But then again your lifting technique is very good lol, and off course its a goof exercise! My guess is 375 KG... Good luck m8!
My guess is 1979 pounds. You work very hard as always. Thanks for the videos.😁
I’m going to guess 1662.5lbs, looks like a good haul!
Hi Ben,
