Interesting that the London to Hull service was once operated by 170's, as apposed to the 180's you see today. It must have been great to have those 373's on the ECML alongside the 43's & 91's, shame it only lasted five years. I highly doubt the 800's & 801's will ever be able to live up to the same glory, they just don't have the same ompf!
Thanks. understand Grand Central and Hull Trains are opting for the Hitachi plastic as well, lets hope the freight keeps running my way otherwise going to be very boring place indeed especially for train sound variety
Blimey the GNER EuroStar. Wow
The HSTs were unmistakable with their horn and formidable presence on the line-sadly missed!!
Brill video. Shame the HSt,s have disappeared now . They were iconic.
Those Valentas 😍😍
All the Valenta’s are gone except for one, 41001 ‘The Super HST’

Yes the railway is getting very boring now. Everything being replaced with generic rubbish.
@tpe18509 thanks mate yes great shame when the MTUs appeared
was 43305 (formally 43105) in this video? That's my favorite HST of all time!
1:27 That DVT was 82220
Smart guy you are
BTW the Valenta HST with the wonky horn was 43290, formally 43090.
3:10
RIP Valenta’s. 1976-2010
