Sad to think watching this video of 91s being new in May 1989, here we are just over 30 years later and they’re being replaced and retired...

OMG, great vintage stuff Daz, makes me realize why i like trains, home station, Spital yard looking like it meant business, just how i remembered it, a hive of activity. Took the boy's down there a couple of weeks back and it's a ghost depot now. Great video Daz.

Another absolute corker Darren! Seeing these videos is making me consider changing the era of my new layout to this period - you're certainly providing plenty of reference material!

Excellent footage Darren. Really liked the shots of the 47, 56's and 37 on the freights. The shot of the 91 hauling MK1's must be a rare shot. I also recognise the name of 47501 'Craftsman', good to see a shot of that loco from the past.

The good old days of INTERCITY and blue and white livery's. The BR 156 sprinters are still in use now, on Scotrail services.

A bit after my time. I remember going peterborough on 4 or 5 occasions in the earlier 80's and most of the freight went down the outer sidings which is now the new platform. Seems very nostalgic to see so many 47's. Hopefully you've got a decent tape of March depot in your collection. I have fond memories of scouting about that loco graveyard around 85 or 86.

Excellent footage! Brings into sharp relief just how banal and utterly soulless it all is today.

Those Class 101s were terrible. They were bouncy, noisy and rattly.

1989 I remember a hot and still day during the summer, finishing with one almighty electrical storm. not much thunder, lots and lots of Lightning.

William Radford It was the 6th July 1989 when the hot spell of weather came to a thundery end. I lived in Worthing, West Sussex at the time, being a very young thunderstorm fanatic who also loves railways, I will never forget that night, the amazing lightning displays, thunder and torrential rains that lasted from 22:30 till 5:00. We don't get storms like that here in Lincolnshire too often.

Peterborough Station, in my opinion, isn't as varied anymore. Where do I live? A South Lincolnshire town between Peterborough and Grantham.

Curious at 3:17 - 43040 lacks the "125" on the branding. Never seen this variation before....
