- IT'S TIME TO GO BACK TO FARMING IN THE PHILIPPINES?
How did my 3000 calamansi trees fare after 4 months in the ground?
I take a trip to Veruela, Agusan del Sur, to check the growth, and to see what needs doing next. Then it's onwards to Tagum!

Yes, you need to weed and cultivate (pulverize) the soil around the calamansi plant to grow faster and healthier. Right now, weeds are competing against with the calamansi. So, instead the nutrients will go to calamansi they feed the weeds. It's nice that your wife is joining with you.
As long as u fertilize around the plant and get rid of rhe weed around it should be fine-
Kumander Daut. It's good you have invested in a farm. As we say "When you sow, you harvest,"...not only for household consumption but also for additional income. You also provide employment even seasonal to local workers. Congrats and God bless!!!
Wow Cal;amansi, I miss that... nice farm you have....Hard working guy. Blessings to you andyour wife.
Good choice of choosing calamansi as your crop. It's one of the most sought after in the markets and their prize can go high depending on the supply.
always a good crop. I have 7 bushes around the house. grafted so they started fruiting productively after a year. never bought calamansi again. we even have enough surplus to give away to neighbors.
👍. How you ever thought of diversifying, i.e., planting dragon fruit ( hard to find in US and expensive). An option is jackfruit popular amongst vegans as substitute for meat, or breadfruit. Remembered a story of an American living in Southern Mindanao in the early part of the 20th century who planted breadfruit after a famine caused by locust infestation. Supposedly there is a Tahitian saying to always plant a breadfruit tree in your yard as a guarantee not to starve. Enjoyed your video.
I looked at doing dragonfruit a few years ago but my soil isn't ideal for it! It's definitely a productive option!
Jackfruit and durian could also work there...
Kumander D = praying 🙏 that your Calamansi farm will be ABUNDANT and manageable. ... Also, may your Caretakers be loyal and honest so everyone could THRIVE. ... Glad to see Nhel is involved too, esp if she has a green thumb. She & Lily would be your good luck Amulets. 🍀
It was good to meet you today. I love all your videos and that they are all REAL content not commercial content compared to some channels. I have been back and forth in Davao almost 20 years and I connect to your videos showing the many struggles and successes trying to make your way with your family here in the Philippines. It's refreshing and genuine. Thanks for all you do Kumander keep it coming. Robert
All the best Robert! Great to meet you!
Nice your kalamansi is getting bigger and fruiting
Hello KD and Nhel, it's nice to see that she is joining you in your Calamansi Farm, if she have a green thumb that's well and good and Lily can enjoy the farm too...good luck KD, that Calamansi will yield abundantly when taking good care of...
Good to see Kumander having a relaxed face while in the farm compare when his 1st few videos on the fish pound.
Really appreciate all these ideas and comments! Thanks everyone!
I'll be spending a lot of time up here from now on... let's see how it goes!
Filipinos consume calamansi more than any culture out there. We eat it, drink it, meat tenderizer and flavor enhancer, for dipping, salad dressing, garnishing/flavoring for main dishes, for bath soap making, hair care (try coconut milk with calamansi as hair conditioner-it’s awesome. I’m talking Fresh not processed and from the bottle). So, 🤞I 🙏that your farm will earn you healthy return♥️
Hello Kumander👋greetings from California USA 🇺🇸 I’m so excited about your Calamansi fruit farm. Have you thought about setting up Bee 🐝 hives along with your trees? Someone I know from Guam have calamansi farm and 🐝 hives . They said it’s a good thing to have because your trees will get pollinated in more faster pace not to mention the honey 🍯
Nice to see that you're into agriculture again. I think it would also be good for you to restart operation of your beautiful fishpond in Cateel. You also have the option to lease it to interested parties if it's not possible to operate it at this time for some reasons.
You are 100% correct on getting rid of flowers and fruit in the first several years of trees growing. Put the energy into establishing the tree and the fruit will come in the future.
You obviously have a long term goal. Best wishes
But you know, KD, I thought planting Durian trees are more viable and profitable than Kalamansi. I mean Durian fruits are big deal and precisely are grown mainly in Mindanao here in the Philippines. What I'm saying is you should consider planting Durian trees too.
I looked at durian too - they are also ok. Very comparable viability and profitability 🙂
Always nice to see Nhel and Lilly in your vlogs😊 Lilly is so cute and great haircut!
Nhel has done so well KD, the trees look amazing diversify your life for stability... Cool beans Anselm 👍
Kumander, put woodchips or coconut husk around the kalamansi to avoid grass growing around it…..
I am trying to find something compatible with calamansi - coconut husk I notice isn't...
Try and try, until you find the right one, just look around the area, how about rice hull….
@@flotinotan9272rice hull is a good idea...
They’re thriving well!
👏👏👍👍 Much success with your calamansi farm 🙏
Nhel!!! Great to see you!
Love watching your blogs especially when you take us around and now it’s so exciting to see the progress of your Calamansi in your farm and hope to see it grow abundantly ,watching you from Florida 😊

Hi kumander daot, maggawa ka rin ng puso or bomba sa lote mo tulad ng ginawa ni kulas pangpaligo at panlaba makatipid ka na sa tubig
G'day, wow!!!!looks great, fruit of Labor is now looking good...jn God we trust...take care everyone...God Bless.
You have to cultive its C.Tree and put sound a checkin manure but a foot away from the roots
Family day with Kumander D!❤
Good job to you man and your family. I can only imagine how much kgs each tree yield when they reach maturity, that's tons of calamansi per year.🤑🤑
Calamansi typically starts bearing fruit at 2 to 3 years old. Nowadays, many seedlings come with fruit before they're even planted, allowing for quicker harvests. Regular soil cultivation around the tree accelerates growth and, with the high prices in the local market, makes it a profitable endeavor. Additionally, while waiting for the calamansi to grow, we may consider planting squash (kalabasa) or other crops in between.
i love family time content!
Seeing Boy P in two different places, San Fernando with Kulas and here with Kumander D.
Calamansi are growing. HI KD and Nhel its beautiful sunny day.
I love the new haircut!!!❤❤❤
try to spray herbicide. then when the grass is dead, follow up spray with alion. for 6 months the grass will not grow. so that you can save on the cost of cleaning the grass.pwd mo gawin sa alion 500ml kada isang 200liter na tubig isang drum na yon.
Thank you Kumander for another awesome video
Legend mate love your work Cheers from the Yummos lake mac NSW

@@KumanderDaot Hallo, Anselm. Kalamansi farming is much better than fishponds. After 3 yrs I guess, you'll start non-stop harvesting. Good Success in all your endeavors,KD.

This guy positively contributes to the Country.
kumander napakaganda ng market share for calamansi sa palengke and groceries...dapat alagaan mo talaga yan...cultivate the soil a bit pulverize it around calamansi tree regularly para madali makapasok ang oxygen iunderneath the soil and thereby mabilis magexpand ang roots to absorb more nutrients. Wild grass competes the calamansi in taking soil nutrients. Give freedom to the roots of calamansi from wild grass roots around it---u need to uproot wild grass so often.🥰
Smart investment , cakamansi fruit all year around and very popular in philippines
Nice greenie farm
Umander Daot ...your hairstyle suits you the best this time

Hi, Kumander D!
Good luck with your Calamansi farm! I'm not a gardener, so I'm confused as to the why you have to remove the flowers & the tiny fruits?
