by far one of the best videos i have seen for ages Andy ! , watching you make the prod made my arms ache lol ...great draw weight and you made me laugh out loud when you said rabbit shite hahahhahaha
Thanks Malc, I appreciate it brotha.
With this and the survival shelter over the past few weeks, iv got one arm like Popeye now haha.
It did well. Became a little more powerful since its fully dried out.
Haha I curse quiet a bit outside of my videos, but I go as far as watering down words like shit on my channel.
All my videos are being slowly demonitizied and age restricted now, so I suppose me holding my tongue doesn't matter any more.
Thanks for watching and take care bro
lol
Rotten luck. I find your channel, watch about 5 videos, and then see your last upload was a year ago. Hope you're doing well.
Where did he go
Really good stuff, but the idea that you filmed it all for all of us is great! Thank you!
"Okay guys, gunna draw it to 17 inches."
*draws it to 23 inches*
"This is a 65 pound draw m8"
Excellent Andy, I especially like how you included the making of the strings with Stinging Nettles. So not only can you eat the fresh growth tips, you can also make strong string as well. Learnt something new there too. Brilliant but simple.
Cheers Paul, glad you enjoyed my video.
Boiled up, the nettles make a medicinal tea too. Really usefull plant!
Thanks for watching bro
Glad this video is back up Andy .
Thank you LC for sending this back at me . I've got some prime hickory - hedge wood and even some bamboo .
Nav
Hedge would make a great bow as would laminated bamboo . I have some heavy steel banding material for you to keep in your gear for points . 5X5 .
Thanks Nav Star, brilliant friend youve got right there.
Hickory makes fantastic bows!
Thanks for watching and take care.
@Master Tracker , I have some metal banding strips , but it's not very wide or thick . You say Heavy steel banding . Where do you get yours ? Want to make some points for survival hunting or fishing and keep them in my ruck sack kit . THX
Alex Xela - Got your msg. and your material is on the way .
Would love to see you back out again, loved the channel from day 1. Hope you are well. 👍
Hi Andy, Gunn Clan member here, love the survival videos! Just happened to find your channel while surfing through UA-cam looking at Covid-19 updates. My family and I live in the Philippines and have jungle all around us so everything you are teaching is possible because we have instant access to all the raw materials. Especially bamboo! I was born in the US but have made a trip to the Highlands of Scotland and Inverness during the winter, Loch Ness and Hagus...Cheers Mate! Fred Gunn
Hands down the best crossbow trigger design I had ever seen.
Great work
Great marksmanship awesome craftsmanship GODBLESS you have wonderful journey!!!
I sure miss your videos Andy. Hope your summer is going great!! Frigging hot over here in Nebraska this summer. Take care my friend!
I used to shoot longbow and A F B . Never tried a crossbow. That's thing shoots real sweet. Nice job mate.
Thanks Steve, appriciate it brotha
I love the abrasive compound
First time I’ve seen your link. I’m going to subscribe and I throughly enjoy your enginuity.
What an awesome video, such skills and craftsmanship has gone into making those arrows. Great work!
Awesome content again Andy👍have started work on a bow trap and still to make a net trap, and am definitely going to have a go at the crossbow. Gonna keep me nice and busy on my bushcraft adventures
Thanks Nick, that's brilliant... Let me know it it goes and take care.
Have a great weekend brotha
Interesting and well directed. Takes time and patience to create a fine piece of work. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and skills brutha. 👍
Cheers brotha. Glad you enjoyed it
Good to see you uploading again 👍
Thanks Jonathan, appreciate it brotha
Brilliant! Not as difficult to make as you would think or maybe it just looks like that due to way you very concisely demonstrated it. Thanks for sharing. Atb Shaun
Cheers Shaun, appriciate it brotha.
No, when it's broken down into individual little job's, it's all really simple.
Thanks for watching and take care.
Andy
Someone call my wife! I'm off to the woods!
Nicely done.
I'm glad this video is back . Thanks again .
Thanks Patrick, I noticed a few bits missing and an audio problem with the last one. I really wasn't happy with it, but I was gutted to loose all the lovely comments I got on the old version. Yours especially.
Thanks again brotha and have a great weekend.
Andy - You could have made the newer version an hour longer and I'd watch every minute . Just my opinion -> You have an excellent speaking voice and very concise and clear on all details . Videography is EXCELLENT . You should be on television / History Channel / Discovery etc. You would be fantastic at replacing all the rot on television these days and viewers would actually learn something .
Keep up the great work Clan Gunn Bushcraft and All the best .
MT I totally agree .
Thank you brotha, that's real kind.
I had the producer of the Alone show message me a few years back.
Wanted me to apply for the show.
My life was a bit of a mess at the time, so I declined, but I'm tempted to message her back and apply for the next season.
I'd love the experience of staying out there as long as I could.
Thanks again Patrick and take care bro
Thanks. It was around the time I stopped making videos. Season 2 I think it was for!?
That thing is awesome! Looks like a really fun project!
Strenuous, but alot of fun to build and shoot.
Thanks for watching brotha
What a amazing powerful crossbow. I like your videos so much
Love the bowie bushcraft knife!
Great video, thanks for the pine glue tip thats really helpful and overall you explain all the components needed to make a crossbow and bolts i say what else more can you want.
Your welcome brother, thanks for watching.
Take care,
Andy

Great video Andy. You made it really easy to understand how to make, I've scribbled a few notes and will give this a try, cheers bud. Take care.
Thanks Andy, appriciate it buddy.
That's awesome! Let me know how it turns out and take care.
You were talking on your last video about going on an adventure this summer. Where were you planning on going?
Hey bud, I'm thinking I wanna go coastal for the trip, I wanna take basic rations then supplement it with food I forage from the coast. Have a crack at a bit of fishing to.
That sounds awesome Andy. Plenty to forage at the coast.
Great vidéo man:-D !!
Great information, found your channel thru Shooting with Uncle Dan.
Brilliant. Thanks for watching brotha
Hi Andy, I though YT had censored you there. I didn't even get to read your complete reply to my comment but got the jist of it. Thanks for this. I am definitely going to give it a go - crossbow as opposed to survival bow to start with. As you said not such a high skill level required to get accuracy with cross bow. Thanks again, Andy
Thanks Andy.
No, just a few key bits missing like, bolt tips etc.
Thank you for both messages. It was you comment on my bow and arrow video that gave me the idea to add the advantages the crossbow has over a Long bow.
I'm not particularly skilled with shooting a bow, so an xbow would be my first choice. Very simular to shooting a rifle.
Thats awesome! Let me know how it goes and take care brotha
You are awsome brother.. i was searching how to make a crossbow trigger without drilling and i caugt your video and i am going to make this now thankyou 😍😍😍😍
Great video

We waiting for more videos.. gbu bro.
Superb video Andy. Really enjoyed. Great showcase for your skills and a very effective result. God to see you out making videos again. Cheers, Mick
Thanks Mick, glad you enjoyed it.
It turned out well. Bit of a violent recoil until I slackened the string. It's drawing 72lb now.
I'll defo need to remove a bit more material and reduce its power. 60 odd was scary enough.
I really enjoyed working with Yew again tho.
Cheers Mick and take care my friend
Nice
Im going to have fun trying to make it
I am

Just checking on ya. Hope all is well with you Andy!!
Thanks Ralph, I appreciate that brother. I'm good. Still getting out into the wilderness and doing what we do. I keep meaning to take my camera and make a new video.
How about yourself? How's you and yours?? I hope ya'll are well. You haven't posted anything in 4 months! Loved the squirrel hunting vids. Are you still hunting the bushy tails? There's no hunting season for squirrel hear in the UK, but it's breeding season at the moment, so I leave them be. It's the Pheasants that's getting it recently. Not easy with an air rifle tho haha.
Thanks again Bro and god bless
@@ClanGunnBushcraft Hey Andy, All is well here. It's been a bitterly cold winter here with lots of snow, so I haven't gone out side much accept to do chores. Even the squirrels made themselves scarce this winter. Maybe I should make a video of the icy mess we have here. My neighbors roof looks like a glacier, and everyone has up to 8 foot icicles hanging off of their eaves. :/ I can't tell you any stories about shooting pheasants with rifles because it's illegal here to do that. ;) Thanks for the reply Andy! Good to hear from ya! I'll be watching for another video from ya!!!
Thanks Ralph and sorry for the late reply, I've only just seen your message.
That's a brutal winter your having buddy. Yeah, I'd love to see footage of it. We rarely get deep snow over hear nowadays.
Take care buddy
We flatten the barrel first as this is us a better Angel for the fire ping notch for the trigger
Greetings from Germany. Very good job. Well done, complete, holistic, easy to understand. I am ready to "copy with pride".
Guess You are British? Please do not go for Brexit. Would be ashame to "pay taxes" on your valuable contributions after Brexit!!!
Andy..I have watched all of your videos over the weekend buddy.(Weather has been none stop rain here in Manchester)...Been over a year since you last posted a video? Are you doing any more buddy or has it come to an end? Either way thanks for very entertaining weekend buddy......
Awesome video makes me want to go make a cross bow. Nice knife too by the way. Where did you get it?
I wish we have a forest like where your living at I live in the desert of four corners area in USA I live in the state of New Mexico USA yáh'áh'téh.... That means hello in Navajo greetings from the Navajo nation
My father fought the red commies in Vietnam. He is still alive & lives next door to me, thanks be to God. He tells us that he saw crossbows used in combat in 1970-1971. The Montagnards (indigenous mountain peoples) fashioned hand made crossbows that they used for hunting, self-defense & combat. GI’a liked them so much they traded with the Indians so they would make crossbows for them.
Miss your videos be good if you came back and made a few occasionally but that's your choice chap hope your good anyway fella 👍
Dude I think Todd used your video for inspo! You should hit him up
cool
Excellent job on the cross bow! What is the effective range of this thing?
Cheers, appriciate it buddy.
Accurate range is only about 15 - 20 meters.
I'd say a little further with a larger target.
Thanks,
Andy
i realy like the arrows
Cheers Mathew
And thanks for watching
Hey man. Just watched your bow video, what should I do first? Crossbow or bow? I know how to shoot with bows, not that good though.
(I am not going to hunt with it, though I would like to have something that i can hunt with if shit hits the fan)
That was a killer video. So creative! My 8 year old son and I really enjoyed it!
Hey Andy. Just stopped to say hi. Hope you are well my friend! I miss your videos :(
Dying for more videos
Love these videos any new one's coming soon Andy? All the best pal.
Thanks Karl, really appreciate it brotha. Ill be getting back to making videos in the next week or so. Iv got a camp coming up that im going to record and a few tutorial type videos planned to.
Thanks for watching and the support.
Take care bro
@@ClanGunnBushcraft brilliant looking forward to them pal all the best.
Could you possibly make a video on how to make bolts or arrows from reed stems?
I have tagged you in my latest video, Hope to see you out there taking up the challenge.
The challenge involves going out with a survival knife kit and a water bottle for 24 hours in the woods. 24 Hour Tag Survival Challenge. Hope you will take up the challenge, Good luck my friend, Dean
Thanks Dean and sorry for the late reply. Im guna watch it now...
Cheers and take care brotha.
Andy
Later in the news:
Man found in remote forest dead from thirst, surrounded by broken waterbottles
Show us your steak challenge this seems like a good chance to thank you your videos especially helped me through a very dark time at the beginning of the year I got myself a hammock and made a stove like yours and got out there been doing it every weekend since can't live without it now thank you keep up the good work check out Haze outdoor. steak challenge
Hay Sam, sorry for the late reply. Iv only just seen your message.
Thank you brotha, im glad mine and others videos have been able to help you and give you the inspiration to get out into the wilderness and distract you from bad times.
I hope everything has worked out for you brotha.
Iv just watched Hazes video and caught up with the rest.
Hes a cracking guy and hes putting across a great point about mens mental health. Its something that's a serious problem with men in the west and something thats not really taken serious or even talked about.
Myself recently separating from a 15 year relationship with three kids, iv been through a very dark place myself. Hence the large gaps where i dont make videos.
Iv noticed alot of other channels have done the steak challenge and talked about their experiences.. ill try my best to get out there and make a video on it myself.
Thanks again Sam and let me know how the campings goin.
Take care,
Andy
Andy, Andy. Where art thou brother?
Hey mate, could you please do a video on how to make a fire for a campsite 🏕??
Can you hunt large animals with this?
I like watched this video 10 times and saved it to my email survival folder . What kind of big bowie knife do you use please ? What a great video and THX Clan Gunn Bushcraft .
Thanks Alex, glad you enjoyed it buddy.
You should make yourself one. Takes a bit of work, but lots of fun shooting them.
I'm not sure of the type of bowie it is.
It's made by Anglo Arms, but I don't think they sell them any more. It's very old. Holds a great edge to it tho.
Thanks bud and take care
Anglo arms Dundee Bowie, they have them on Springfields.co.uk
Awesome video
Sub from me 👍
Looks just like cheapo stainless steel. Could be wrong ofc.
buen trabajo hijo
Hello.
Can I make a string out of stingy nettle?
Where’d you buy the carving knife?
I've had it for over 10 years, but it's called an Anglo arms Bowie knife.
There's a few cheaper versions, just make sure you get one made from 440 steel.
Thanks for watching
Hey man, where are you. Come back and make movies!
Andy, where are you? Hope you're ok.
Did you make it back alive from Bulgaria?
Hey bro. Hope you're well. Miss seeing you. Stopping by to wish you a merry Christmas to you and your family.
Thanks Ben, merry christmas to you and yours brotha.
Ill be back making videos early in the new year. Iv got a few tutorials planned and a couple of camping trips coming up next month. Ill be sure to take the camera with me.
