I have never been a rich man so there have been a lot of times that I wouldn't have money for something I needed, so I would build it. To this day I still build and I am 71 years young. That"s how I became a metal artist. So I love the videos you do on Bushcraft. I consider anyone that can build for their own needs a self made engineer. You are an awesome teacher my friend.

My Dad knew wild asparagus. We would be cruising down I75 and he would pull over and have me jump out of the car and go pick it!! Sure wish he was still here to do it!!💚
Greg ever since I found ur channel I'm a big fan!! So cool you're a great man with so much wisdom and knowledge to share.. thank you Greg... jordan from north east Scotland.. ❤
I'm a little late to this party but I'll comment anyway - I was camping in the backwoods of North Central Idaho and there's no internet here. Summer comes late up here and the temperature dropped below freezing most mornings. Anyway Greg, I always learn a lot about trigger mechanisms from you. The deer still haven't lost their winter coat up here and they don't seem to have any fear of humans. They come into camp every morning and evening at the same time - they seem to be coming down to drink from the creek. Then they'll stand and eat or play just a few yards from my fire with their ears turned down - indicates they sense no danger. They just stand there looking at me. One evening, one of them woke me up - she was licking the sidewall of my tent. Gosh knows what she tasted on it - salt maybe. Oh yeah - there's lots of ticks here. I like seeing the deer around because it indicates there's no bears around. Don't you just love being out in the woods and away from all that concrete!
❤ I love this idea, Greg. Crossbows are simply the "missing link" between bows and portable firearms that perfectly blend the silence and ease-of-use. Archaeological studies of bones from the Middle Ages show clear proof of skeletal deformities caused by the uneven muscle development of archers, where the drawing arm was FAR more developed than those of the support arm. Crossbows were not only more convenient and simpler to master, but the fact that you didn't need to physically hold a drawn bow at the ready meant that far fewer people had this skeletal deformity after the advent of the crossbow. And kudos for the creativity of aspect of this build. It may not be a beautifully hewn and polished yew stock with half a dozen coats high gloss varnish, but she works like dream! Beautiful work
Good little fire going, cold brew and Greg and fin with the entertainment!! I couldn't think of a better place to be this evening and doing and watching what I love!!
Thank you for your video tutorials. We're similar in age and I'm ready to change the trajectory of my life in a major way. I'm studying your vids and learning a great deal. Very much appreciated. Take care, stay safe, God bless.
28:20 perfect focus switch 😀 Man, what a cool build and idea! You always come up with cool stuff. I hope you'll show the crossbow in some real action some time. Stay safe, Greg!
Throwing an idea out there, I bought 2 pull knives for pulling bark/level planes and curved planes. I think there is a lot of use in them. Just like having a small wood chisel. Saves energy and time= life saver. Rather not make so many mistakes with just a knife and hatchet, but still doable. Awesome Job! I really enjoy woodwork. More branches in small area of wood= strength (for handles or wooden mallet for example).
Great video Greg you brought up a great point when you're hungry and you're tired and you're trying to hunt your focus is not going to be as good but that crossbow that you put together really takes a lot of that guesswork out of hunting with a bow good job
I love the concept Greg. I think if you center the bow down your stock your shot will be more on line instead of to the right so far. I think I'll try to make one with mine. Keep up the great videos.
You never cease to amaze us mate ..love how you just keep it real and simple you are a true champion to alot of us..thank you mr ovens stay safe brother..
I lived as a kid in Oyama and picked wild asparagus along the old railroad right-,of-way every spring. Then they sprayed with herbicide one year and there was none left from then on.

Greg, have you ever made tea from the wild asparagus roots? It is known as the flying herb by ancient taoists because it induces dreams of being able to fly.
Wisdom Greg. You have it and that's why I dig your channel.
The idea that you're coming so close to that Bullseye. You get a great job building this.
Nothing better than seeing a Greg Ovens video posted !! Just made my Friday night

Yep
I think it's great Greg that you're helping the community as well.
I love it Greg, “if you don’t like it, watch it anyway”, priceless
Had no idea Greg was on Alone AND had no idea Zach Fowler was either let alone both on the same season. Found something new to watch
Not to mention Zach won that season.
