All of the sudden this is a new trend among the new generation 😅😅. I went to JOANNE for my new project, I saw lots of a young boys and girls buying yarn. I ask one of the boy they were two of them; they were both buying the yarn they are going to make a blanket.😅. How exciting!! 😅😅❤❤
As a guy who crochets i wanna meet them 😭 😭 😭 it's kinda looked down upon guys who "do girly things" like crocheting, so i never saw another guy crochet.
I feel called out lol, I'm a teen who's just getting into crochet and my first project was a blanket😭😅 Tbh I didn't know it was a trend I've just always thought crochet looked cool lol
@@Iluvmushrooms19 i think it’s so awesome that you learned to crochet. i think i’m going to my second class on the 25th heheh. for me crocheting is stimulating to my brain so it doesn’t really have to be girly, but i do call myself a granny hehe so u could do the same 😅😅🤣
Yeah fringe looks cute but in actual use is HORRIBLE IMHO. Especially if you have a baby/toddler, their fingers/toes WILL get inexplicably knotted in the fringe and it can sometimes be a hazard of cutting off circulation
The scallops! And as an experienced crochet enthusiast, there are tons of ways to combine squares, and I have never had to lay them on the floor to get them straight. All you have to do is make sure there are the same number of stitches on the sides you want to connect, and start at one corner, work your way up. My prefers method is chain stitching the together, it's so much easier than whip stitching with a needle. But for the last throw i made, I did a braided chain stich combo that looks divine. It's was challenging even for me, but it was so satisfying too. I can attest that the magic knot holds like none other. I used it on that throw I mentioned, and nothing has come apart after 5 years of use and washings. 😊
The scalped edge would not only look super cute it would also keep it clean easier. Fringe tangles easily and does not untangle in a way that will still look good
All the comments are “Scallop is so cute” “I love the fringe” “Scallop looks like flower petals” “Definitely go with fringe!” “ I love fringe but it gets tangled to easily, go scallop”
I like the fringe! Also, you’ve maybe been lucky but please always buy more yarn than you think you’ll need. Dye lots change in yarn and a colour you bought one week might be wildly different when you go to buy more the next if they’re not from the same dying batch. Nothing worse than working on a giant project and realizing your yarns don’t match😕
I just want to say that for someone just learning to crochet…you have done an awesome job…the blanket looks beautiful!!! I would recommend the scalloped border , it’s more practical and I think in the long run, you would regret doing the fringe. Ultimately, it’s your decision…go with what you will be happy with!!! This will likely be the first of many beautiful creations that you will make!!! Welcome to the Crochet community!!! Stay safe and be blessed ❤
Honestly, that's why I hate making granny squares. I love the way they look once they're done, but I have no patience to make a thousand of them and then stitch them together. I'd rather crochet in rows.
Hii, im a begginer in crochating and i have been struggling with a problem , when i try to crochet a plushie or something my circle turns into a bowl and that doesnt allow me to make it bigger also when im done it doesnt look like a ball its kinda tall and whatever , ive been really struggling so please if anyone knows how to solve the problem please reply to me!!!
Magic circle is prone to coming undone especially for beginners, would not recommend for anything other than amigurumi! It's just as easy to start with a chain 1,2 or 3 and work into the first stitch as your magic circle. When you weave in the end you can use that to tighten the middle just like the magic circle, but much much sturdier

I’m making the same Afghan , and I agree with you about stitching the squares together 🙄. The knot you used is what I use, and I haven’t had any problems so far. Lovely to see your artwork. Ian from Wales 🏴.
The fringe one is super cute but the scalloped edge looks more like flower petals!
MY EXACT THOUGHTS
Fringe does get tangled up but it’s cute so idk 😢
@@jayrec12 twist fringe shouldn’t idk if it looks as pretty to all tho lol
Scalloped edge one was much cuter
@@chloejohnson463everyone have different opinions 😕
GIRLLLLL I KNOW HOW YOU FEEL!! I HATE weaving my ends with granny squares.
Scalloped edge is so cuttteeee
crazyyyyy,, i cant even finish my granny square sweater 😭😭 the blanket is so cute tho
Scalloped looks like petals which would match the flowere
You should do the fringe
Definately the scalloped
What kind of yarn do you recommend for a granny square blanket? I’m kinda new to crocheting so I’m not sure what yarn is suitable for a blanket
Scalloped edges look better
Slay ❤
White fan border
How many granny square will need?
Scalloped!!
scalloped!

The fringe is super cute and I think it adds the flare you think the blanket is missing love your vids ❤❤❤
Scalloped looks so cute and sweet. Personally I think you should go for it.
The magic knot works like WONDERS it definitely stays SO WELL!

How about after being washed many times? I'm so tempted to try it, but I'm absolutely terrified of it coming undone from washing.
@@lissaw4 agree 👍🏼

Fringe would look so well with the design you used…(i know I’m writing this late)
The scalloped edge is more secure as a border!!! Great job!!!
Fringe will knot, scalloped edge is the better option long term.
Scalup edge would look perfect!!
I can’t believe I missed this. Definitely do the scalloped edge. You’re doing amazing.
Yes scalaped

The BEST Colour combination, I have seen. Contributes to it's appeal.

i think she said she bought a kit to make it so that’s why she didn’t expect to run out. I might have heard her wrong though

The fringe looks so pretty and gives it so much more character
Scalloped edge looks so cute!
Scalloped. Easily washable. Fringe will likely knot up.
True!! Fringe definitely not as durable
Where did she get the kit for the blanket?
The scalloped edge looks adorable!! ❤❤

Fringe would make it look even better, and the white color makes the flowers pop. ❤
Scalloped edge because its less hassel 😂 great work on your blanket
ooh it looks so good!!! scalloped for sure but that's just my preference the fringe one could work for a more boho look

scalloped!
As a crocheter,I prefer to use a crochet to put the squares together ;)
OMG ITS SO CHUNKY AND CUTE!! SCALOPED, bc fringed might fray.
Looks great. I always attached the squares as I made them. Not so stressful and you can watch your progress grow
The scalloped looks like flower petals it would look so cute😊
What's the yarn they used what type and what brand?
Scalloped
scalloped!
❤ Personally i like the fringe but the scalloped edge does look cute or do a combination. So do what would make you happy. Hugs ❤ 🤗
