This game seems like a nice bit of crazy fun to have with friends or even with randoms. I did enjoy Smite as a Moba and the god characters so I'm curious to see what future characters they'll put in this one and how they'll play.
I first I thought this was a gimmick but after watching. It like SSB but I a 3D sandbox which is so freaking cool and I can see it working

I think my favourite is Sol, she has a wild scream on one of her abilities and she is 'dorable! Yes. Though I would have like some single player content as I tend to stress a lot in PvP games. But it does look quite fun!

I hate how Hi-rez handles their businesses, but goddamn, they always go that extra step to make things different ENOUGH to catch my interest
And above all, their games are goddamn fun.
The thing that makes me avoid to play new Hi-Rez games is the disrespect the company has to their playerbase. They invest in Smite, because it is their most grossing game, but Paladins is doomed, just like Rogue Company and Realm Royale, they don't stop trying to create a new game hit, but while doing that, many games are abandoned. A shame, this game looks fun, but I can't bring myself to support another of their games

@@rickmaia964 Paladins has been a success in its own right and has been out for like 4-5 years with a tons of updates. Not abandoned at all. Dont know about rogue company, but realm royale was a disaster and im surprised it wasnt cancelled a long time ago. The fact that game is still running actually goes against your abandonment claim. Not to mention they are all free to play, including DKO to a degree. So there is no harm in trying.

Lots of people think that bc Smash can never get a roster like Ultimate again, the next will be 3D. So I guess it'd be like this? I wonder how this would feel when made by Nintendo.
I’ve been saying this would happen since the dawn of time it feels like, and especially after Kirby going 3D, but had no idea this was a discussed topic. It’ll be an evolution in fighting games if that ends up being the trajectory, that’s for sure. But classic 2D fighting games will always be the competitive gold standard.

As much as I would like to see that, I think a 3D Smash would lose a lot as a couch multiplayer game.
It could be fun, to me though what I'd like to see in the future of Smash is a smaller roster and a universal meter or cool down mechanic so that the big moves can be balanced in a way that they aren't either useless or busted.
This is better suited more for PlayStation All-Stars than Smash.
If I could only get Max to do a video for Roof Rage on Switch I’d be truly happy. This will do until now. Roof Rage is by far my favorite platform fighter HANDS UP PANTS DOWN!

Can’t wait to see what gods and goddesses they put from Smite into this game. Fun needs some tweaks and balances but a fun game especially customs with your friends.

@@Mrholysymbol I was about to say, there’s no way I’m the delusional one, this game is not competitive, it’s not going to EVO or any major tourney as a main game, I doubt it lives to next EVO. It’s actually a crap game, 1v1 is horrible and can’t be balanced in a game like this, and honestly 3v3 might be the only semi-fun, semi-competitive mode, but there’s no VC from what I’ve seen so good luck with that.
@Ja Bacon yeah the mechanics feel way too jank. It's poorly explained that a priority system for attacks is even in the game, your skills can get stuffed by basic attacks and the balance is all over the place

They don’t do it because it literally doesn’t work. Try 1v1 in this game and tell me it’s actually a respectable fighter… It’s fun in 3 v 3 with game modes that aren’t directly killing because the way this game is made, some characters are just way better than others in direct combat. The neutral is literally spin around in a corner and either approach with an uncounterable cooldown move, or let your opponent approach and wait for them to enter your auto-target combo range.. The depth in a game like this versus something like smash is… well there really isn’t that much depth in this game to compare
@@djandjb1 Literally every point (aside from the depth) you've made here legit applies to most versions of Smash... Smash is by no means a "respectable fighter." with how easy it is to kill at low percentages (especially in melee jfc) and the there are clearly overpowered characters in every version (metas exist in every competitive game for a reason). The difference is that Hi-rez is actually experienced and open to building an esport (though they likely will balance around 2v2 or 3v3 since they are primarily a moba dev) while Nintendo actively hates the mere concept of competition (melee is only still played now because Nintendo actively tried to kill the smash pro scene).

@@SirGrimly I know you thought you were telling off a smash player (or someone who doesn’t understand fighting games) but I don’t even own that game. My background is competitive fighting games tho, so that little poison the well thing ain’t gonna work with me. First off, what are you even comparing Smash to when you say how easy it is to kill at low percentages. Because how can it be considered early if you aren’t comparing it to another game where it isn’t considered early? First mistake, you responded in anger, and your linchpin fell apart the moment that’s the angle you went for. Now we know you’ll say anything to make a point, even if it doesn’t make sense, but let’s move on..
You said their are clearly overpowered characters in Smash, and I won’t argue that… But what happens when you ban Steve and Kazuya, and the roster is a bit more even at that point? Because the problem with this game is no matter what you do, you *can’t* balance anyone in the same way unless you understand a few fundamental rules:
1. You cannot have dodge on a cooldown in a 3d playing field. It means the first person to dodge automatically loses the exchange, assuming 2 top level players. That in combination with Cooldown attacks means most of neutral is a waiting game I.e. no Esport potential at ALL.
2. Characters having more or less range on their “Rekka” attack (Normal attack string) and having a lock-on system means no exchange can ever be even against different characters, and unless they get crazy with reducing cooldowns altogether (they probably should, not that it will matter) that won’t change. Some characters have so much invulnerability in their kit, it’s stupid.
3. Ultimates are a dumb idea and severely imbalance the game even further. Some have stupid long invincibility while others have none, some couldn’t hit a 3 year old where others are *basically impossible to avoid without your own ultimate. It’s a bad mechanic for 2v2’s, but for 1’s it basically makes it a joke and not a game mode.
Considering all that, it would take a lot for this game to be the “respectable fighter” that Smash, or even Brawlout could be.
I'm playing a lot bot damn the connection and hit detection needs to be fixed ASAP!

I haven't played it yet but that's how it looked to me at first glance. Smite is already too similar that they could have added a side mode or something. I think that's why they changed the art style and made it into a chibi version, so it can be different

It's free on Epic and Steam but not on Playstation. To get this for free there, you need to pay Sony for that subscription "PS Plus" in order to have the privilege to play online. You are the guy that pays Sony to be able to play online, you are the one actually losing :v

It’s a fun game but in 3v3 it’s easy to get ganged up on. There’s not a whole lot of defensive maneuvers outside of dodging and your mobility option. Hopefully that gets changed! Also, the lack of a “final destination” stage can be a bit frustrating for 1v1.
