There has been amazing editing in general the past few months and I've been really enjoying Max vids a lot more due to them. Ty Editor!
To me, Max has always been one of the best edited gameplay channels on the platform, and it's only getting better and better with each video it seems
Something about Max and Steeb talking game strategies while Simmons screws around with a Hot Wheels garage set radiates such amazing "guys being dudes" energy
3:39 is the moment that cost Nintendo a boat load of money because the Canadian team that worked on this game scanned in two pages from a sailor moon manga and Nintendo paid bandai out the butt so they wouldn't go to court. This is why we're NEVER getting another punch out .
Honestly I feel like if it was remade couldn't they just change what was there? I still think it's really dumb overall
Funny because the game got 2 ports after the Wii released as a Wii U VC game and as a game for the NVidia Shield (just in China).
FACT: That's merely a rumor with no credible source. It has NEVER, ever been proven to have actually happened.
There are absolutely no receipts put forward by anyone that prove that Nintendo paid anything to Bandai, aside from paying them for working on the Smash Bros series.
And Next Level Games are still working on Nintendo games (Luigi's Mansion 3 for Switch).
That rumor keeps being peddled around to justify why a new Punch Out has not been made since. But the fact is that there are plenty of Nintendo IPs that are dormant (F-Zero, Earthbound, Wave Race, Eternal Darkness, etc) and unfortunately, the Punch Out IP went back to the vault.

Nice try trying to be all legal with your whole argument but the fact is there's LITERALLY a page from sailor moon in the book that Hondo was reading,his original name is piston Honda in the nes but the company that used him for this game couldn't even use that name due to copyright laws. Now you tell me why there isn't a new punch out being made ,infact if you can put forth proof proving that there is a new punch out being made or that the sailor moon manga page never existed your good to go.
@@TatankaTaylor here's something that I googled that also adds fuel to the sailor moon punch out argument :In brief, Next Level Games inserted low-resolution, mixed up images of Sailor Moon manga art into the manga that Piston Hondo is holding in the game, and Nintendo was allegedly aghast to have learned about this still illegal use of assets so close to the release of Punch-Out!!. They reportedly told Next Level they were in breach of contract and that the game would be pulled from production until it was fixed, which allegedly cost around $2 million. And Nintendo apparently went a step further and licensed Sailor Moon from Bandai as well, to protect themselves. It, uh, sounds like a big, weird mess. now if this isn't enough proof of what happened I don't know what is .

There are few greater joys in life than watching people freak the hell out trying to react to the Title Defense attacks. Legit one of the best games on the Wii.
The game was so good, when Arms came out I was immensely disappointed Little Mac wasn't like a secret DLC character. Because I think he should be included in that in some gimmicky fashion, much like how he was finally added to Smash years ago.

Every fighter speaks their native language. The only ones who speak English are from America, Canada, and Ireland iirc.

gotta admit, im with you guys on this whole game. this shit was REDICULOUS but FUN! i wanted it for christmas, and the day i got it, i played it in one day. and DK was IMPOSSIBLE. i still have yet to beat that big hairy jerk, but i love the character no matter what.

Here's a story, when I was a kid my parents bought burnt copies of games for our Wii and of course Punch Out was one of them. I really enjoyed playing Punch Out.....until I got into Title Defense, from being unable to progress to the next set of fighters because the game would crash whenever I beat King Hippo (once again the game was a burnt copy), to having to just having to skip all the other fighters because...well...I sucked and the game started to feel pity for me.
Despite all of that (as well as getting my ass destroyed by Donkey Kong) I still loved playing this game that was filled to the brim with character. Unfortunately it's burnt state got to it and it stopped working, so my need to play the game again stuck to me for years and the only thing that could satisfy me was Punch Out videos of people just destroying the game like it's nothing.
Eventually I was able to finally buy a proper copy of Punch Out on Amazon, I could finally satisfy my Punch Out needs, and with the new information I learned on how to beat the Title defense variants of all the boxers, I entered Title defense mode with confidence....
I then had the exact same experience these guys had...minus Macho Man, I humiliated his ass

My god... this is so good... this is, like, _VINTAGE_ Hype & Rage content from Max. Just... Y!VG throwing themselves at a challenge, taking multiple weeks to complete it, but eventually, by the skin of their teeth, achieving victory.

When you're in your corner between rounds you can press "--" and the coach will give you his candybar and youll gain some health back. And the first time you get knocked out in the match if you mash the 1 & 2 buttons little mac will put his knee down before he falls and youll get a second chance.

So, fun fact (and I hope I'm not just misremembering a rumour here), DK's position as a secret final boss in this game was almost taken by PRINCESS PEACH. Apparently the idea got nixed because they didn't like the idea of people booting up the game just to punch a woman, which like... okay I respect, but I think the offset of Peach tossing the frilly dress, stepping up in boxing gear to reveal she's actually freaking ripped and handing Mac his ass is something so wild and awesome that I'm sad it's not the way it went
You know what would be nuts? New PunchOut on the Switch, but the secret boss is K Rool with the boxing gloves, haha.
