I grew up in the SDA system and of course, went to an SDA college and we had the same running joke- "if you don't get married before you graduate, you'll never get married, and be alone for life" lol... Gosh, darn religious pressure! I also struggled with religious anxiety up until I was 27-28 and finally started living authentically. And it's been incredibly freeing not having that constant shame/guilt/pressure and being true to myself and my life!! My God is certainly not the God I grew up believing in nor who my parents believe in, and that is 1000% okay. Thank you for sharing this story in more detail! Every religious high school/college young adult needs to hear this kind of message sooner rather than later... imagine how much happier people would be and the world would be without that religious pressure! God is a God of love, grace, and compassion. Not shame, guilt, fire, and brimstone! All the best to you and your family. Thank you guys, again :)

Most religions stim to 1 God. That is the connection. An I don't c some1 as Jewish or gay or stereo typing.... cuz that's how u miss out on meeting good people in life.. an it's Not our job to judge how someone lives their lives...
Mormon is a nickname. They belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and are indeed Christians, too. :)
Love your story and the connection you guys share now. I know you’ve mentioned going to therapy before and how much it helped your marriage. My husband and I are looking into finding counseling and this gives me hope.

I'm glad your grandpa took the time to encourage you. That would be one thing I really wish we had instead of having to keep it a secret although maybe that is what helped make it more special. Hope George recovers quickly and doesn't pass it on.
I love seeing the old photos and see how much the two of you have grown up. My husband and I just celebrated our 20th anniversary and looking back at the wedding photos and it’s the same thing. We have grown up so much.

I didn't give up on "Him" he stagnated and i kept changing and
growing. "He" didn't notice how much help i needed while going to work, school and taking care of kids and house. He was napping while i finished with kids and household chores.

lol reminds me of my husband and mine start of our relationship! We have now been married 26 yrs. In the beginning tho I broke it off with him I think 2 times. It was a hot mess! I think it shows tho the passion and fight we had even then to be together.
