I think a lot of us were waiting for this. Not so much because it was any of our business (because it isn't) but because we knew it more than a simple breakup. You become our "family" and when you were hurting we all could tell. I'm glad you felt able to tell the story to us, and in a way lifting that off your shoulders. I had a marriage when I was 23 that lasted 5 months and 3 of those months I had move back home. Big life lesson! When you are ready to get back out there, remember to never slack or compromise on what you want. I truly believe there is someone out there for everyone. I believe the good lord puts in our path when he feels we are ready. In the meantime, keep working on yourself and getting stronger mentally, emotionally and physically. I'm glad you opened up. It does help a lot of others. I have been there, my ex was horrible but I wouldn't listen to my family and friends. They kept telling me that he was bad news. But as they say "love is blind" and it really was. But it took me getting beat and rapped by my EX for me to finally open my eyes and see that he was everything the my family and friends were telling me. He just had me so brain washed that I even pushed my Mom away. It took me a really LONG time (7 years) to finally trust again and in that 7 years I healed. I still have issues from time to time. So you will get there Melinda DO NOT rush. Always remember "True love doesn't come when we want it the most, it finds us when we NEED it the most" Enjoy the time with Scarlett. Kiddos grow up so fast. We have to be the very best for our kids, grandkids and rest of our family. I was in a similar situation as you were in, Melinda. My first marriage lasted 6 months and I was 21 years old. I don’t regret it. I took what I learned from the situation and applied it to my second marriage. I have been happily married for 25 years. Part of life’s experiences. We learn from it. You will find your prince. Thank you for sharing your story and it wonderful knowing that you are seeking therapy and healing from this.
A very hard life lesson to learn is that if there are any problems, even the smallest prior to doing something huge like getting married, trying for a baby, buying a house, etc those problems do not get smaller and they do not suddenly disappear or take care of themselves. Everyone in life has to learn this one way or another. I am proud of you Melinda for seeing that things were my getting better, and you needed to get yourself and Scarlet out of that situation even with the backlash you faced. I have seen such growth in you since last December. I am so proud of the women, daughter, sister, friend, and most importantly mommy you have grown into these last 10.5 months.
This is insane...im just now hearing about this...im never on social media even tho I follow all of you bc I love all of you, the crazy middles, crazy pieces, crazy treasures and Joe too!!! I'm just happy that Melinda is happy and doing what she feels is best. I'm not Mormon or anything but my dad is so I understand it and the aspects of it.
I had no idea. Guess I didn't hear the rumors. You are strong. You are beautiful. You are a survivor. I am so proud of you. You ended a bad situation quickly. Do you know how long it takes most women to make that decision. As a former therapist, I teach social workers now, I applaud you. I wish more of my former clients were like you. If I could give you one bit of advice it would be this. Given you have admittedly two "toxic" relationships if you begin to have feelings for someone else please go to therapy with that person. Remember we are attracted to what is comfortable and familiar. So going to therapy with that person will help you make sure this does not happen. Hang in there.
alot of us saw through him. we wasn't out here trying to do anything but protect you, I know at times its prob seems like everyone was hating on him but we had our reasons. just hope your ok now and healing, its ok to have a year single, 2 years, 3 years dont rush anything its ok to be single u have a family who loves u more than anything

Sometimes we don't see the red flags from a person until its too late even if people are telling us. It's hard to believe the people that are telling you those. Even though it was later than you wanted I'm glad you got out of it and have moved on with therapy. It probably helps saying something too like you did. That will help you heal more. Good job
So true. I ended a 3.5 hear relationship and to this day I remember things that were said and done and wonder why I didn't leave much earlier. So glad I took the bold step to leave.

Just remember one thing honey your family will always gonna be there no matter what .I know what you went through I went through the same thing and now my son has gone through the same thing to. and it’s hard to see your child hurting so bad and my son was in a toxic relationship and it got super bad but he’s doing OK now and I’m glad you’re doing better too love you ❤

I married someone at 18 super fast I dated him 3 months then married him , we were only married 9 months before I left . we were both addicts and i felt bad for so long after I left , i healed in the wrong way but I’m glad you are able to heal in a healthy way. I know everyone is giving their advice. I just want to say I'm proud of you and you are a strong woman! I have been in toxic relationships too, the last was really bad and ended right before the pandemic started. I'm not into any religion I just love Jesus and my best advice is to focus on Jesus and raising Scarlett and He will provide when the time is right! ❤️

That's why I think couples should live together before getting married. You need to get to know the person on many different levels before marrying them and some people realize that they aren't compatible after living together and that's fine.
Good for you doing this for you and your daughter. I know there is a lot unsaid in this video but I do genuinely feel like all too often it’s up to a woman to seek mental help from past scarring relationships. But truly, your partner should meet you where you’re at and love you unconditionally. It should be a joint journey to healing, not just on one. Like combining finances when you get married, you also combine baggage and scars. I know out of respect for yourself and the situation your being vague and I totally respect that. You’re stronger than you think and I hope the take away isn’t just your past projecting on this relationship.

It isn’t easy at all. Sure, it broke your heart and was a very painful loss, but now you can see more clearly. You’re strength is immense and you did what you needed to do for you and your daughter. I think a lot of us were waiting for this. Not so much because it was any of our business (because it isn't) but because we knew it more than a simple breakup. You become our "family" and when you were hurting we all could tell. I'm glad you felt able to tell the story to us, and in a way lifting that off your shoulders. Love is a crazy thing sometimes and we chase that feeling trying to keep it.. often times getting hurt in the process. I'm proud of you for letting yourself heal.

I had a marriage when I was 23 that lasted 5 months and 3 of those months I had move back home. Big life lesson! When you are ready to get back out there, remember to never slack or compromise on what you want. I truly believe there is someone out there for everyone. I believe the good lord puts in our path when he feels we are ready. In the meantime, keep working on yourself and getting stronger mentally, emotionally and physically. You are a beautiful person inside and out. You deserve to be happy.

I'm glad you opened up. It does help a lot of others. I have been there, my ex was horrible but I wouldn't listen to my family and friends. They kept telling me that he was bad news. But as they say "love is blind" and it really was. But it took me getting beat and rapped by my EX for me to finally open my eyes and see that he was everything the my family and friends were telling me. He just had me so brain washed that I even pushed my Mom away. It took me a really LONG time (7 years) to finally trust again and in that 7 years I healed. I still have issues from time to time. So you will get there Melinda DO NOT rush. Always remember "True love doesn't come when we want it the most, it finds us when we NEED it the most" Enjoy the time with Scarlett. Kiddos grow up so fast. We have to be the very best for our kids, grandkids and rest of our family. I was in a similar situation as you were in, Melinda. My first marriage lasted 6 months and I was 21 years old. I don’t regret it. I took what I learned from the situation and applied it to my second marriage. I have been happily married for 25 years. Part of life’s experiences. We learn from it. You will find your prince. Thank you for sharing your story and it wonderful knowing that you are seeking therapy and healing from this.
A very hard life lesson to learn is that if there are any problems, even the smallest prior to doing something huge like getting married, trying for a baby, buying a house, etc those problems do not get smaller and they do not suddenly disappear or take care of themselves. Everyone in life has to learn this one way or another. I am proud of you Melinda for seeing that things were my getting better, and you needed to get yourself and Scarlet out of that situation even with the backlash you faced. I have seen such growth in you since last December. I am so proud of the women, daughter, sister, friend, and most importantly mommy you have grown into these last 10.5 months.

I'm just happy that Melinda is happy and doing what she feels is best. I'm not Mormon or anything but my dad is so I understand it and the aspects of it.
I had no idea. Guess I didn't hear the rumors. You are strong. You are beautiful. You are a survivor. I am so proud of you. You ended a bad situation quickly. Do you know how long it takes most women to make that decision. As a former therapist, I teach social workers now, I applaud you. I wish more of my former clients were like you. If I could give you one bit of advice it would be this. Given you have admittedly two "toxic" relationships if you begin to have feelings for someone else please go to therapy with that person. Remember we are attracted to what is comfortable and familiar. So going to therapy with that person will help you make sure this does not happen. Hang in there.

Sometimes we don't see the red flags from a person until its too late even if people are telling us. It's hard to believe the people that are telling you those. Even though it was later than you wanted I'm glad you got out of it and have moved on with therapy. It probably helps saying something too like you did. That will help you heal more. Good job

I married someone at 18 super fast I dated him 3 months then married him , we were only married 9 months before I left . we were both addicts and i felt bad for so long after I left , i healed in the wrong way but I’m glad you are able to heal in a healthy way. I have been in toxic relationships too, the last was really bad and ended right before the pandemic started. I'm not into any religion I just love Jesus and my best advice is to focus on Jesus and raising Scarlett and He will provide when the time is right! ❤️

That's why I think couples should live together before getting married. You need to get to know the person on many different levels before marrying them and some people realize that they aren't compatible after living together and that's fine.
Good for you doing this for you and your daughter. I know there is a lot unsaid in this video but I do genuinely feel like all too often it’s up to a woman to seek mental help from past scarring relationships. But truly, your partner should meet you where you’re at and love you unconditionally. It should be a joint journey to healing, not just on one. Like combining finances when you get married, you also combine baggage and scars. I know out of respect for yourself and the situation your being vague and I totally respect that. You’re stronger than you think and I hope the take away isn’t just your past projecting on this relationship.

It isn’t easy at all. Sure, it broke your heart and was a very painful loss, but now you can see more clearly. You’re strength is immense and you did what you needed to do for you and your daughter. That is all that matters! May you recognize your courage and get stronger as you heal and learn. Our choices aren’t always perfect, but what we learn from it can make us perfect.
