Caught the first trout on my new tenkara rod last night. I only fished 3 holes in a small creek in south-central PA and landed 4 wild browns. I'm still working out my preferred line/leader setup, but am very happy with the results so far.
Thanks for sharing again. What a beautiful textbook perfect Tenkara stream! I also have the Suntech Kurenai HM33R. What an absolutely sweet rod for smaller fish. Keep em coming & we’ll keep “liking & subscribing”! Neil
Seeing how far you move between fish and time between each catch is really nice. Not something you see often and really makes me feel better about not catching fish every 10 seconds...
What a beautiful setting. Looks like you could stick your face in and drink from that stream. Growing up in Canada (Nova Scotia) , all the boys played hockey,….in summer and spring many fished,….but only a few of us would fly fish. Your videos always bring back memories. Thanks for the uploads they are really enjoyable
@@TenkaraAddict I guarantee you Tenk, you won’t be disappointed. Fabulous scenery and beaches . I’m not bias because I’m from there, a lifetime of experience. Great trout fishing….and if you feel adventurous, the mighty Margaret River ….. home to spectacular Atlantic salmon,….a treasure! Safe fishing buddy.
HI TRISTAN 👋 GORGEOUS SCENERY COLORS LANDSCAPES & CRYSTAL CLEAR STREAM ! THOSE TREE BRANCHES DON'T WANT YOU TO HAVE ANY FUN L.O.L. THANK YOU ☺️ 🙏 ENJOYED ☺️ 🙏 GOD BLESS YOU ALWAYS ON YOUR ADVENTURES 😉 🙏 GOT BEAR SPRAY ☺️ 🙏BE SAFE 😉 🙏 DON'T KNOW IF THERE ARE ANY IN YOUR AREA ?
Florida saltwater fly fisherman but got a tenkara for summer national park hiking trips with wife and kids. Found your videos to learn from. Awesome stuff and learning alot. Now i hit local ponds with tenkara for bass and blue gill with my son cause so fun instead of going after snook and reds on fly some nights.
Darn you tree pounder!! 😂 Thanks for taking us on another fun day on the water Tristan. Have you been able to get in some thawed water lately? And any interest in Nelson's Trout in your travels?
Hi Tristan! I’m from the northeast and taking a trip to Utah. Trying Tenkara for the first time. I’ve been bingeing your videos. Long time suv camper. :). Any guidance on areas near St. George / Zion? Thank you.
What are your best go to flies for smaller creeks like this one? I’m interested in trying out tenkara fishing, I’ve done plenty of euro nymphing so I’m familiar to trout fishing but definitely wanting to explore the arts of the tenkara
Thank you so much for just telling me what State you're in! Some fishermen on these channels won't even tell you that which I find a bit ridiculous!! I mean naked at least say what state they're in without giving away the secret of where they're at.
I had a strange tenkara dream last night. I started out catching a PB rainbow that turned out to be a double with a gnarly looking largemouth taking the fly. I then started catching fish indoors under counters, and then outside again out of hidden puddles near the house I grew up in.
According to a random site on the internet, "Catching a fish in your dream relates to "catching" your dreams. Your goals are in sight, and you're chasing after them!" So I guess that's a good thing? Lol.
@@TenkaraAddict How about this one? An old recurring dream of catching fish out of the sewer through the upstairs toilet. I was catching bluegills, not crappie.
Bonjour Tristan, je ne te vois pas faire de lancer arbalète sur certain postes ce serait utile et précis ? Hello Tristan, I don't see you throwing a crossbow on certain positions, it would be useful and precise ?
In a situation like this where you’re seeing fishing taking flies (and leaves!) at the surface, would you ever consider switching to a dry fly? I know you fish subsurface kebari flies almost exclusively, but I’m curious what your thinking is on the question of switching flies to match the current situation vs. just sticking with whatever happens to be on your line and making it work.
I very, very rarely switch. I'd say I do it less than once a year on average. Only if I see fish repeatedly go up to and then reject a fly do I switch, and that wasn't the case here.
@@TenkaraAddictHeh. Which makes it even funnier that you switched out the “bad juju” fly. 🙂 That made me wonder if you’ll avoid that specific fly in the future.
Jeez, you're the master at this Tenkara, but all of those fish that got off didso because you bowed the rod immediately after hook set. Watch the video to see what you were doing. Usually you set the hook and keep the rod tip high. That and barbless hooks.
Literally any set of barbless tenkara flies will work. Creek fish aren't picky. If I had to recommend one, it'd probably be this: dragontailtenkara.com/collections/flies/products/futsu-kebari-combo
Just one more cast.....
Two Hours Later.....
I was gonna stop, but there is one more hole ahead....
Awesome 👍

@@SUVRVing Thank you!
I enjoy watching you fish but sometimes the fishing is overshadowed by just how beautiful the scenery is! What a great place to be!

Such a good rod! One of the best you can get, IMO. Thanks for watching.
Wow! Simply 'wow' for that beautiful Brookie. Great day on the stream. Glad you pushed on near the end, that's the spirit. Thanks.
It's just hard to say no sometimes!
Tristan what a beautiful stream I do look forward to fish on every other week.
Thanks!
A lovely river, indeed. And what a great brook trout it provided you! As always, thank you for this channel and your consistently top quality!
Thank you for watching!
Cool 777 love it when the catch is presented in the sunlight
Love that part of the country,..it's like walking into a Windberg painting to go fishing!...Sublime
Great video as always, and a beautiful creek & setting. The King Of The Creek lives another day!

That was a nice sized brook!
Right? Surprisingly nice fish!
Am glad that there weren't any bears feeding on the raspberries !! 😊
Would have made for great content 😄
You should just go fishing more often. Not every video needs a theme, enjoyed this one!
Great trip, Fun Creek, love the drive to fish, Sound like my wife. "It looks Fishy"
What a beautiful place. I miss mountain trout streams. 2 more years in AZ then I’ll be back in the mountains if I can. Another great video
The desert is beautiful but yeah, not the place you want to be if you're into trout fishing 😄
Love watching your videos …makes us want to go out west!!!
Great video. Thanks.

Nice creek!
When you come east this year you can fish the creeks in NC. A 12 inch brook is big here

Your videos! When scouting a stream what do you look for ?
Just curious when you see fish rising, why not put on a dry fly ? And thanks for all the awesome video's!!!

That first brook trout needs to get out the dark streambank holes and get a tan!

This was a good come back for the Kurenai cause, if i'm not mistaken, you've it broken on the first try out.
I don't remember if I broke it on its first time out or second, but yeah, it's good to have it back!
Did you upgrade your go pro since filming this? This has got the blurr everytime you move. The new videos don’t have that which I have appreciated.
Nope, same GoPro as always.
It seems that the rod works better for bigger fish.

Do u ever run into bears and what do u do about it
Here in wisconsin, your covered in ticks at the end. That a problem for you?
Nope. Very few ticks in this part of the country.
Your stream says "Paradise Valley" in Colorado. I can't find that place on any map or Google Maps.
That's not its real name. I don't give out exact creek locations or names.
Can you recommend a fly assortment (combo kit)?

Do you carry garmin inreach for these remote places ?
Yes, I do. I've got the InReach Mini.
where can i get that rod!?
1 more week and I'm back at it in WI
Nice! Have fun 👍
