This one was especially good! I echo how enjoyable it was to hear YOUR excitement. Don't have grizzlies in the smokies...just black bears which are not uncommon to encounter. Have you ever come upon a grizzly? You're really out there at times.
I don't know what was more exciting. Your excitement or the fishing itself lol!! I'm going to go with your excitement! Congratulations on such an amazing day on the water Tristan 🙌🏻. And thanks again for bringing us along on your adventures 🙏🏻🤙🏻😁
Great catching and great location. I’ve been viewing your videos for a very long time and it seems that no matter what fly you use you catch fish. Congratulations on a great trip. You deserve it. 😊
A Beautiful creek for Tenkara . Viewers share your genuine and authentic enthusiasm from start to finish on each episode. Sweet enticement , anticipation and FINALLY REWARD. B.F. Skinner's Law of Operant Conditioning: Human acts upon the environment to receive consequences. Stimulus-Response -Reward. Set into motion, viewers vigilantly seek out your next adventure, and REPEAT. We get it Tristen, it's all in a name: " Tenkara Addict" .
Maybe Bear Poop! But your infectious whoops of enthusiasm scared him off I'm sure. Nice catches! Best video so far? (and it wouldn't be Wyoming without wind....)
Great video, really enjoyed watching this and your others. Thanks for posting and showing what can be accomplished. You’ve definitely helped me and my wife grow an interest in Tenkara and we’re trying it now and learning with moderate success so far. We’re waiting for the stream season to open again in Oregon soon to get out some more. A question I have is are your hookups mainly by sight or feel? Or both?
Just signed up for your website. Great resource! I live in N. UT and always looking for new and obscure campsites. Also getting back into fly fishing so looking forward to checking out some of your spots as well.
The watch on my left wrist is a dumb watch (Casio DB-36, which I love). The band on the right is the Amazfit Band 5, which is the same thing as one of the Mi Bands, but I don't remember which one.
Wow! What a pool! They are clearly hungry from the long winter! Two species (golden and grayling) I have yet to catch! The sizes for that creek are also amazing! Also, can you post a pic of the fly? Thx!
Hi. Great video. I am front Ontario Canada and planning to start tenkara fishing for brook trout in the many streams we are blessed to have here! I am confused about the set up of the tenkara line. I have done the research and I see numerous recommendations to have a total line length of the rod length. I currently have a 12 foot rod, and the recommendations are to have a 2/3 of 12 feet, therefore 8 feet of 3.5x level line plus four foot of 5x leader. Does this set-up sound reasonable? I appreciate your insights on this. Dan.
My level lines are always more or less the length of the rod. And that's referring to the level line, not the line plus tippet. So in your situation, I'd have a 12 ft level line and 3 ft of tippet. 8 ft of level line is too short for a 12 ft rod.
Wow! What a jam-packed 30 minutes of fishing! Thanks for sharing it. According to my spreadsheet this is the 11th video in which you fished the FoxFire.
You keep a spreadsheet?! That's amazing. Send it to me if you can. There's a contact form here: suvrving.com/contact/. If you need to send it as an attachment, I'll reply to that message, and you can send it to that email address.
Moose poop looks like a collection of brown golf balls scattered on the ground. That looked like bear poop to me. What sort of large animals inhabit the area? I've never seen golden trout before. Thanks.
Brook trout are only native to the east coast and golden trout are different from a palomino and look nothing near a cutthroat if you’re gonna act like you know your stuff then actually know your stuff
There are a lot of creek where I live buy also here is also bear area. So ı am afraid of going alone. As I see you are always alone . I am sure you carry bear spray but is it enough to save your life in case of any encounter ? Do you feel completely safe in these areas against bears ?
Those were just brook trout. Golden trout are rainbows with albinism. They don’t have dark dorsal patterns. They can’t produce dark pigment. They were very cool fish though!
Another extra ordinarily good video. No bells and whistles, just great footage, skills and irrepressible enthusiasm. Once again, thank you Tristan.
Thanks for the kind words!
Talk about a honey hole. That was magical. Great day to be alive. Thanks for sharing your trip in beautiful country.
Right?? Such a great place to fish. Thanks for watching!
This one was especially good! I echo how enjoyable it was to hear YOUR excitement. Don't have grizzlies in the smokies...just black bears which are not uncommon to encounter. Have you ever come upon a grizzly? You're really out there at times.
Wow! Three fantastic species out of one hole!!! Thank you for sharing.
Thanks! You got me hooked on tenkara. Keep up the amazing content and come back to the Eastern Sierra sometime.
Poop Report: In the spring when forage is higher moisture content the moose droppings come forth in glorious globs instead of individual pellets. 🤔
I second this.
I don't know what was more exciting. Your excitement or the fishing itself lol!! I'm going to go with your excitement! Congratulations on such an amazing day on the water Tristan 🙌🏻. And thanks again for bringing us along on your adventures 🙏🏻🤙🏻😁
You had me on edge great catching. I was like 999 lucky numbers
Thanks for taking us along. What a beautiful place to fish. ❤
12:50 Wow, that is amazing---such great fish, great fishing, and THAT VIEW! What a day that must have been
7:12 - nice catch!
Now that is a nice hole. Not only the number of fish, but the species variety and the size of the fish was great.
All hangin' out together in the same hole?? Wowzers indeed!
Nice freshwater sailfish! A fish that has so far eluded my life list! Poop looks kinda like some elk leavins I’ve seen? Bear maybe? Great vid!
Love grayling...used to have them here in Idaho but not anymore. Many good memories catching them in the 80s.
Same pool! That was awesome!
Great video, Tristan. Thanks!!!
The FoxFire has become my favorite rod. Great video, as usual!
Brook Trout are so beautiful!
Great catching and great location. I’ve been viewing your videos for a very long time and it seems that no matter what fly you use you catch fish. Congratulations on a great trip. You deserve it. 😊

Thanks! Even after all the fishing I've done, I still get excited for every fish 😁
This is your best creek EVER!
Epic fishing and location m8!
Maybe Bear Poop! But your infectious whoops of enthusiasm scared him off I'm sure. Nice catches! Best video so far?
(and it wouldn't be Wyoming without wind....)
Love your video. That was awesome to share in your experience
What a tri-fecta! Brookie, Grayling and Golden Trout! And, fantastical mountain views. Can't beat that. Great video.
Thanks Bill!

Thanks for another great video and beautiful surroundings. I love fishing grayling.
Great stuff. Beautiful area and cinematography. Thank you for another amazing video. Love starting my weekend off with these.
Nice haul !
What an experience. Beautiful fish in a beautiful location.
Only took several hours of hiking to get there 😁
You were in one beautiful place!! And you got the trifecta in brook, golden and grayling. That’s a nice day!!!👍
Great day, for sure! Thanks for watching.
Where were you my dad would love to see that lake he has never caught ether one of the awesome fish you found
Wow, just wow! At a loss for words. Thank you!
Thanks for watching!
Amazing video!!! Those fish were gorgeous!!!
Very cool!
Beautiful area and hungry fish! Can't beat it!
Yep, no complaints from me! 😁
Beautiful creek.
Best ever 🎉🙂👍
Absolutely amazing!!!! Hope i can make a trip out there one day.
That was fun to watch you found some great spots
This place is an all-timer for me, for sure. Thanks for watching!
That's why its called the "WIND" River Range.
Stunning vista
That was the best episode yet❤
Beautiful place! Looks fun. 🤙🏼
It was awesome! Thanks for watching.

@@TenkaraAddict You bet man! Hoping to see you along the way at some point. That would be cool!
You got the smart watch and a smart band. The smart band looks like mi band x. 😁

Another awesome video well done some really nice fish
Thank you!
Cant wait to get back out there!! Thanks for sharing!!
Same here!
Wondering when your yarn store will be back in business?
Tristan, best pool ever
Agreed!
Amazing! What color is your level line? What footwear do you use? Does it work for hiking and then not slipping on rocks/moss?
Wow! What a pool!
They are clearly hungry from the long winter! Two species (golden and grayling) I have yet to catch!
The sizes for that creek are also amazing!
Also, can you post a pic of the fly? Thx!
Description says it was filmed in Aug 2023. So not hungry from a long winter!
There's a pic of the fly included in the video 👍
@@TenkaraAddict hmmm. Missed it somehow; will rewatch. Thx!
I think you were getting hybrid Goldie Brookies
Is that even a thing?
I would like to see what that looks like
@@TenkaraAddict ya they will breed with Rainbow Trout but those you caught had a lot of Golden in them .

Looks like the wind river range

I've never seen golden trout before. Thanks.
see above comment on consistency of summertime moose poop
Do you say what stream your on?
Bear poop for sure. What a pool!
I normally think that golden trout are not that beautiful. But the goldens you caught here were extraordinary IMO.
That looked like pretty native brook or cut throat trout not a golden rainbow not even close but was pretty my guy!😊
Brook are not native to that part of the country. A golden trout and a golden rainbow trout (also called a palomino trout) are two different trout.
Brook trout are only native to the east coast and golden trout are different from a palomino and look nothing near a cutthroat if you’re gonna act like you know your stuff then actually know your stuff
Check out this book. Changed the game for me on Trout Flyfishing.

Fascinating
Thanks Carlos!
Come out to the Great Lakes this fall and fish some STEELHEAD
super ryby
That was Bear poop!
I don’t think that was a golden trout it could’ve been but it looked more like a westslope cutthroat trout but great vid
Giant pizza for that poor starving goldi trout
WHAT??!!
Nice bear poop
So... could you share the GPS coordinates for that creek? 😁
If I were you I would pack a 367 while out there in bear territory.
Those poor fish need some food.
Looks like fairly fresh bear poop. Be very aware of your surroundings.
I believe that was elk 💩
Those were just brook trout. Golden trout are rainbows with albinism. They don’t have dark dorsal patterns. They can’t produce dark pigment. They were very cool fish though!
Wrong
Wrong palamino trout are albino rainbows and golden are a different variation and brook trout are char which aren’t even trout do your research
Bear poop pretty sure.
Looked like elk poop
Got to love Fishing!
