Me too! Going solo is fine! There are many budget hotels that have solo rooms that cost less. Love that! This time I’m not going solo. But I travel solo every year. I found it a bit difficult to eat solo sometimes. Look up UA-cam videos about great places to eat solo. Areas around universities have better options for solo eating, including Hongdae has a solo BBQ place!! If you think you will be lonely, there are groups and activities in Korea. Plan ahead.

Will be spending a few days in Seoul when I get there to get over jet leg and hopefully can meet up with some English speakers in Seoul.

Megan , We’re going to So, Korea in a group tour in March 20, first time. The travel agent says we need to apply for K ETA. Is this correct? I’ve read that it is lifted for other countries including Usa.🇺🇸 If so, is there a fee? Is it necessary to really have a SIM card to travel to this country? My first time to watch your channel, I hope to hear from you . Thanks
I am arriving for a day only to Je-Ju on a Cruise Ship and I am from the UK its says I do not need the Keta is that right, Thats what it tells me when I select UK resident. Thanks Mark
I'm going solo to Korea and my arrival will be at nighttime like 9:30pm up. I plan to stay in Jongno-gu. I couldn't find any video how I will travel from airport to jongno-gu. It's all Myeondong and/or Seoul Station. 🥴

Hi @MeganOsten I am travelling from Manila, Philippines to Toronto, Canada on January 3, 2025 with a 17 hr layover in Incheon, Korea, Would I need a K-ETA if I stay at a hotel inside the airport? I am a Canadian Citizen. Thanks

When I went to Korea a few years ago, the taxi cab driver definitely took advantage of us not knowing enough Korean and charged us about twice the amount for the ride 😅 I'm not bothered by it but I quickly realized that we gave him more than what's actually expected. But we were so tired we didn't care. Next year when I go back though, I'll be a bit more skeptical lol.

I've never travelled overseas before. Do you need to declare any food you bring with you if it's not a forbidden item. I often see people bringing snacks etc, no one mentions declaring food you are carrying. I am more concerned about my transfer flight via China to south Korea if I have food because I'll be short on time between changing planes
Great video! I’m worried though because I get bad allergies(pollen) and I have to take OTC Zyrtec and idk if that’s legal in korea. Does anyone know if I need a doctors permission or could I just bring it. I’m stressed cause customs doesn’t understand what I’m saying and I only know 2 words in Korean
You will have schedule an appointment at immigration and you will have to pay a fine for over-staying your visa! Do this as soon as possible (the fee gets higher and higher each day you overstay)
I'm coming to Korea next month and I wanted to take a moment to thank you for all your content! It has help me feel less anxious so I can be more excited about this trips (which i like a dream come true to me)
In terms of safety, definitely yes. Koreans call Daejeon NO JAM city(it literally means not funny in Korean)cuz it's so peaceful and not much attractions compared to Seoul. For those of you who're not used to hustle and bustle mega city vibe, Daejeon is a great place to live.
Planning go solo to Seoul in June/2024, I have phone of T-Mobil, it says T-Mobile cover the Wi-fi in Korea, Q: I can download the Naver maps and I don't have to buy the Wi-fi sim card in Korea, then I can use the maps in Seoul, right? Thanks
Thanks so much for your great video. What is the best translation app that you recommend to use? and what to use in place of google map there in Seoul? Thanks for your response.
Hey, I’m going to Seoul in Nov…I wanted to stay in hongdae but I’m having a hard time finding a place close to hongdae walking street…I’ve been looking for places on Airbnb as you said in one of Your videos but I’m a little confused on the districts and how close I am to the nightlife…
I just checked Airbnb and see plenty of options so I’m wondering if maybe you accidentally have a setting that’s clicked that will make it harder to find a place? As far as exact, exact areas - I have online consultations to help with that question (where I help people with screenshots of maps and highlighted areas and sending examples of possible Airbnbs that meet their preferences)! Safe travels~ 😊
If you use Booking App, you can easliy reserve hotel or room, also reasonable price. In hongdea, night culture is very funny. Beacause there is many club or BAR and people.
Hmmm... very good question. It isn't easy but there are places where you can make it work! Korean BBQ being a good option but really any restaurant that, when you look inside, has seats for you all! Mall food courts are always nice for lots of options for different food preferences (like the iPark Mall). I just recommend going to eat at slightly off-hours (like 4/5pm - note some restaurants take a mid-day break). Safe travels!~

korea is very cold in the winter seasons. I only recommend autumn and summer seasons travel to korea.
about the list if exemptions for K-ETA it looks like many more are now eligible

Great video! I’m worried though because I get bad allergies(pollen) and I have to take OTC Zyrtec and idk if that’s legal in korea. Does anyone know if I need a doctors permission or could I just bring it. I’m stressed cause customs doesn’t understand what I’m saying and I only know 2 words in Korean
You can buy Zyrtec at Korean pharmacy without prescription as far as I know.
Hi, are there certain ATM that give better rates? thx
Hi i need loste second phones where i can get
what is person is having a Moroccan passport and tourist visa is expire in south Korea , how that person can leave the country ,
You will have schedule an appointment at immigration and you will have to pay a fine for over-staying your visa! Do this as soon as possible (the fee gets higher and higher each day you overstay)
I'm coming to Korea next month and I wanted to take a moment to thank you for all your content! It has help me feel less anxious so I can be more excited about this trips (which i like a dream come true to me)
Is Daejon a safe and good city ?
As a Korean I recommend to use Naver map. Most Korean people use it.
Welcome to Korea 🇰🇷❤
Hi! I’m a Us citizen and have my passport. Do I need anything other than a K-ETA?
I recently looked it up, and it said that Us citizens are exempt. I'm also looking to see if we need a negative covid test

Thanks for watching! 🤭🫂✨
You are still living in South Korea. I hope you will have nice experiences in South Korea in the future.
Seoul is home until God tells me otherwise 🤭 But thank you!~ ✨
How do i visit the DMZ
Thanks im going to korea
Hey, I’m going to Seoul in Nov…I wanted to stay in hongdae but I’m having a hard time finding a place close to hongdae walking street…I’ve been looking for places on Airbnb as you said in one of
Your videos but I’m a little confused on the districts and how close I am to the nightlife…
Great video Thank you
How can I join
i have plans to travel to Seoul next year... i was wondering how hard is it to travel around or eat out in a group of 10+?
Hmmm... very good question.
@@MeganOsten thank you very much. i wished there were these channels to help when i went to seoul for the first time back in 2013

Wait okay so if I’m planing on going to Korea in April of 2025 does the K- ETA exemption apply?
I used the Airalo 10 day unlimited data esim a few days ago in SK. What a life saver - absolutely brilliant! Many thanks! 🇰🇷😊👍
