Another good one David. The fuel use per hour and travel speed is interesting. Viewers might also like to hear the resulting acres/hour. It will be interesting too, to hear how that triticale turns out.

Thanks Andrew for watching and the comment. Looking back at our timesheets, the field averaged 17-19 acres per hour which coincidentally is pretty close to the liters per hour. Therefore our fuel consumption per acre at $1.30 CAD per liter comes to approx. $1.30 CAD per Acre. For reference of value, on a hypothetical 100 acre field, it would cost $130 CAD in fuel to aerate plus time, wear and tear, and depreciation. Therefore we are very willing to pay the $130 CAD in fuel to be able to capture the additional water in the soil for future plant utilization. We are very confident that the yield increase will more than pay for the fuel, let alone the cost of ownership of the implement.

Hello. I live in Wales and this year we have struggled big time with wet ground. We have done some aerating to see if we can reduce some of the compaction done by heavy machinery. We have the same product in the uk AerWorx but with the blades on the roller going in vertically into the ground. Do you have a opinion which one is better. Thank you jeff

Thanks for the comment @jeffwheeler7244. The "Aerworx Aerators" are actually a RanchWorx Aerator outfitted with what we would call "Ranchtech TURF" blades. We have actually used these blades here in Canadian soils, and they work fantastic, I personally prefer them in several ways. They fracture the ground almost as deep as the RanchTech Pasture blades, but do a better job on land leveling in a hay field application. You can also travel faster with them, and in wetter soil conditions. I'm a BIG fan!

Have you done test strips to see the difference the aerator made?

We haven't lately, but we sure have in the past. We typically rely on penetrometer readings and soil moisture readings up to 24" to verify our aerating is working as intended.

How does that aerator handle rocks?

Thanks for watching our video. RanchWorx will actually warranty the Ranchtech blades for life against breakage. I hit a substantial rock one time, and it actually broke the rock, not the aerator... haha

I've been following for a bit now. The video felt like it started at 5:45. Just something someone told me once...Start the video in the middle of the video and jump right into what the thumbnail and title say is happening, or you end up losing a lot of potential viewers when they tune out. Have a good one! I do enjoy the footage of tractors though. Who doesnt?

Thanks so much for the feedback, @trevorsuthers! It's funny you say that because I was very strongly considering a thumbnail image for this video from between 5:14-5:30. What do you think?
