It was announced a decade ago, and it was delivered as scheduled, which, you know, is not exactly "rushed". Btw, in case you're not aware, Branson most likely moved up the launch date to beat Bezos. If this is true, and that's a small if, then Branson has simply rushed his launch as publicity stunt. My point was that if China or Russia ever did the same thing, then the "free world" media would've exploded with insults.
@@aaabbb-py5xd SpaceShipTwo has been in development for over a decade too, and has already had 3 successful crewed test flights since 2018. And it's hardly a novel thing - the first crewed suborbital flight was in 1961. Source: Wikipedia
So it took them 10+ years to design a new airframe and launch mechanism and now they're ready. Doesn't seem rushed to me.

We already know what the far side of the moon looks like, obviously with less data considering we can see the near side from Earth. Anyway, Virgin Galactic and Blue Origin are only currently going just into what is considered space, and then experience weightlessness for 5 minutes before going right back, they aren’t going anywhere near orbit, let alone the moon.
