It was quiet until I got close to the rushing water. However the sound of the water crashing over the falls put me in a bubble where nothing else got in.
It has been over 25 years since my son and I hiked that area. I remember a long unused picnic pavilion in the area. Some nice hiking for those looking for something easy.
Been there a few times...a couple of swimming holes people lay around in, in the summer....nice area to explore with alot of stuff to do. Well done Bud.
What a nice fall day for a hike. That is a beautiful river and a nice maintained trail like the little wooden bridges. Great camera shots of the flowing river and the area it was an awesome display not sure either why 2 stars that was wonderful! Thx for sharing!
New England has many waterfall but Rhode has very few. Most people wouldn’t consider this a waterfall since its largest drop is only 3 feet. I always enjoy seeing streams and rivers on my hikes. This one is pretty cool. Thanks for watching.
I've gotta be honest, living in the West I never knew there even was non-developed land in Rhode Island. I thought the whole state was city or suburbs. This place looks beautiful--- just subscribed and can't wait to see more of your adventures!
@wilderness-will New England does have a lot of cities and suburbs, but there are certainly plenty of places to enjoy nature. Where do you live? I’ve been out west many times.
For me, especially here, being the most famous place doesn't always equate to being my most favorite place to visit. Some times I even wonder who rates these places anyway??!! lol Lovely area nonetheless! All the best to more amazing adventures in 2024! Bruce and Otis
Happy New Year Ken! I have not hike the North South Trail. I looked into it but have committed to doing it yet. Came up a few miles short on my Connecticut AT goal this year. I have a video waiting to be edited for three days and two night on the AT. Take care.
The forest looks really calming...

Paul, In used to do a lot of mountain biking there when I was younger. It’s a great place to explore.

That would be a great way to cool off!

Even though that was a small cascade, it was still a pretty waterfall. Looked like great hike and you had good weather.
I liked it so much, I went back with my wife, son and daughter-in-law the following weekend.

Bruce, 😂 I’m not sure Rhode Island actually has any “real” water falls, but the place is nice and warranted a visit. Happy New Years to you and Bruce!
