I swear most of the time a sound test has talking it just repeats what the title says but manages to stretch it out for like 2 minutes before they even start playing. I Appreciate the no talking format.
I have a fender jaguar about a few month. Its real a great Instrument with a lot of different sounds for playing. I never will give back this Instrument for sure. This man on the video Mr. Aram is playing much better than me. I think he is on a very high level. Respect for this Many Greeetz from Saltcastle (Austria)
I started out playing on a Jaguar - then after maybe 5 years and starting gigs, started playing a Strat and a Les Paul Custom. I didn’t figure it out at first. I thought I was going crazy. I couldn’t get two things out of the Strat and Les Paul - the high strings didn’t’ cut through as well. And to get the same string feeling for note bending, I had to use either lighter gauge strings or tune down. Then I realized that the Jaguar - due to all it’s factors, the shorter neck and the pickups, etc had what I was missing. All three are great for different things. But for blues - which I favor - I just really like the Jag.
I was seriously considering an American Professional series Jag when these were released. I had the opportunity to play them both side by side and ended up going with the Player Series Jag because the neck felt better to me, I liked the way it looked more, and the stock neck pickup sounded better to me. I just recently replaced the stock humbucker with a SD Phat Cat and this guitar has become my main electric for recording and shows. I eventually want to get a Mastery bridge and a custom wooden pickguard for it, but it is already a fantastic guitar.
Really love how they've changed the pickguard and gotten rid of the chrome switch plates, with the exception of the one for the volume and tone controls. Cool modern styling while still retaining it's individuality from the Jazzmaster!
And you can replace the neck to fit a 25.5” scale instead and now you’ve got a jazzmaster! Can ya read the sarcasm? ;) A jag needs all the extras to stand out from a jm IMHO
Is this Guitar with that humbucker in the bridge good for Punk Music? Does it have a good tone for distorted powerchord Sounds? Looking forward to get one of These ;)
A lot of our customers love the Jaguars because they feel a little more slinky with less string tension. It makes them a little easier to play for many people. :) - Feel free to call us at 1-800-800-0087 if you have any questions! :)
@@CreamCityMusic In my opinion they are much easier to play than a 25-1/2" scale guitar for someone with small hands like me. I wish Fender offered a strat/tele with a shorter scale in addition to the traditional length.
It’s all relative to the player I think. I put 11’s on my classic player jag because it feels like the proper tension the guitar wants for the trem and bridge and such. I find it about the same in easiness to play as a 25.5” scale (strat let’s say) with 9’s. Although I found the smaller fretted strats play more like a jag to me than the jumbos. The vintera Strat with 9’s feels awfully similar to me. Whereas the performer series, feels harder to play in my hands. Try em out at the local music shop. Vintera series was a big win in my eyes. And the price tag was appealing.
Yeah, it's the same 'classic' bridge design. You either love it or hate it. I've played a LOT of Jaguar/Jazzmaster-style guitars and I hate the bridge design. Nowadays, I always buy a StayTrem replacement mustang-style bridge, which is rock solid and retains most of the character of the guitar (unlike a Mastery bridge, which although fantastic, imparts a different character on the guitar).
Bridge pickup, coil tap off: instant muffled sound. Every other pisition: asskicking good sound. I don't get that humbucker... why would someone put a humbucker on a Jaguar?
I have one of these and pretty much immediately replaced the humbucker with a Phat Cat. Big improvement in my opinion, but I don't think the humbucker was terrible and I did lose the versatility of the coil tap.
This is the not-quite-a-jaguar jaguar. Replace the three way switch to 3 on/off switches inside a chrome plate and add 2 roller knobs and a chrome plate to that upper horn area and then you’ve got a real jag. It’s like a short scale jazzmaster as it is now. Just ain’t right man!!!! Sounds great though lol
Cream City Music And I’m not even a purest type! Haha :) I just figure... a jag is basically a short scale jazzmaster. It only deserves its own name because of the chrome and the extra switches and circuit! That one in the video is closer to a JM than an original Jag! 🤭
I’m a JM guy so no wonder this Jag appeals to me. Love the humbuckers + single coil option. And I’m not a purist, kind of. This is almost partscaster to me.

no talking ❤❤❤
The neck clean sounds wonderful 😍

Did you make a post about this on Reddit?
Absolutely immaculate demo 👍
I was looking to upgrade from my squier jaguar to an american series fender instrument, but this player jaguar is way too cool.
Awesome style man
It has a alnico 2 neck pickup and alnico 3 humbucker in the bridge. Not alnico 5 pickups like your video states.
you can figure out that he reaaaaaly likes this guitar
Really love how they've changed the pickguard and gotten rid of the chrome switch plates, with the exception of the one for the volume and tone controls. Cool modern styling while still retaining it's individuality from the Jazzmaster!
We feel the same on this model! The classic Jaguar will always have it's place but this is a great version for a different sort of player!
And you can replace the neck to fit a 25.5” scale instead and now you’ve got a jazzmaster! Can ya read the sarcasm? ;) A jag needs all the extras to stand out from a jm IMHO
Noticed the Jane Doe tattoo 👀 and the licks at the end of the video...considering getting one of these for 90s type screamo/post hc...any opinions?
Okay so im buying this guitar
Jizmillah I would look at the Squier Classic vibe 70s style jaguar, it’s a better deal in my opinion!
Is this Guitar with that humbucker in the bridge good for Punk Music? Does it have a good tone for distorted powerchord Sounds? Looking forward to get one of These ;)
Yes
Erm... Nirvana?
JANE DOE!!
Great test.
Nice play
Thanks for watching! :)
Are these Jaguars noticeably easier to play than Stratocasters (due to 24-in scale length)?

String tension aside, the frets are closer together so you don't have to stretch your fingers out as much.

Any issues with buzz from the bridge??
We haven't experienced any to speak of. :)
I need help with that buzzing. Also had to put washers on the back of the intonation screws as the screw was touching the 3rd and 6th string.
the new bridge on this models still give buzz problems like the old jag/jazz?
We've found them to be very stable so far! Very few issues at all and this one only had a minor setup prior to shooting our video. :)

They still do buzz yes
@@henryprice844 are you talking fret buzz string rattle or buzzing from the electrics?
@@wootton900 It's bridge rattle that can be fixed very easily, just needs some patience. Great guitar
I have a 60's lacquer jag but the 7.25 neck is just killing me...i might get one of these instead.
Just switch out the neck
What's wrong with the neck? I was considering a 60's lacquer
Can't figure out why Fender puts the best pickup in a Player Jaguar.
Hmmmm...we should ask them! ;)
There's a problem with the Vibrato arm...The Tremolo System is loosey....
Anybody know the song at 3:55 ? Thx in advance
I think is improvised but is a really cool riff
Dang ,thought there was an answer! Definitely want to know what it is too
what's that first song he played?
All this stuff Is improvisation
How heave is the jaguar
What’s the name of the first song?
its kind of a generic blues/rock lick but the song total trash by sonic youth uses a really similar technique
Bridge pickup, coil tap off: instant muffled sound.
Every other pisition: asskicking good sound.
I don't get that humbucker... why would someone put a humbucker on a Jaguar?
Kurt Cobain could have answered.
I would put just an other humbucker because this one has a muddy tone. It's better to get a dimarzio crunch lab
Good question. I agree with you, maybe replacing it with a better one...
He had the tone settings down. Listen to other demos of this guitar on UA-cam. The humbucker sounds plenty clean and not muffled and too chunky.
I have one of these and pretty much immediately replaced the humbucker with a Phat Cat. Big improvement in my opinion, but I don't think the humbucker was terrible and I did lose the versatility of the coil tap.
jane doe tattoo! fuck yeah
first of all, this guy fucking rips
Cool tattoo

i dont like dark fretboards on stage and it feels like youre putting fingers in a black hole! when will they get rid of them!
No clean tones :(
You didn't go more than a few minutes in, I guess. Clean tones start around 3:15.
