      @@theguitarmanifesto Hi! Could you please tell me which one of these two is more suitable for hard rock / punk / metal? The Jaguar (Alnico 3) or the Jazzmaster (Alnico 2) Player Series? Thanks a lot!

    • @bbbbennieandthejets2127
      @bbbbennieandthejets2127 4 роки тому +3

      Francisco Javier Aprea the player jazzmaster probably because it has 2 humbucker. But you could use either as long as you have an overdrive or distortion pedal

    This looks pretty cool. I’m not in the market for a guitar currently, and probably won’t be for a while. I do think this looks better than some squiers I see. The coil tap is a welcome addition.

    I dig the guitar, I like there newer strat pick ups for the series aswel. ive heard some that sound rad and some that just sound so out of wack. I like this jag a lot... I have the sunburst version. Great guitar with loads of tones. 15 mins to sort out the fret ends and oil the board, another 30 minutes to swap the bridge for a Staytrem one and to change the tuners to my favourite split-post vintage style ones and it's the most fun guitar I've had in 45+ years of playing. Love it.

  • @michaelmasters5972
    @michaelmasters5972 2 роки тому +3

    A Jag shaped Strat? I think it is weird that it has less Jag options than the Squier CV. It is like Fender is either pushing you down to Squier or up to the VIntera range.

  • @juanguillen51
    @juanguillen51 6 років тому +2

    I do like it. Doesn't really have anything apart from the occasional sharp frets, though it does seem like it's treading rather close with Squier QC on that point. I'll be sure to go see one for myself soon, if I can find them in guitar shops around here. ☺

    • @theguitarmanifesto
      @theguitarmanifesto  6 років тому +1

      Yes it feels more like a squier rather than a Mexican Fender IMO

    • @juanguillen51
      @juanguillen51 6 років тому +1

      Rob, Really? I mean I really love the Squiers recently, as they get higher in quality and affordability, but you'd think that it's kind of a disappointment if you can't feel the difference between the Fender and a Squier guitar, if you're the one with the more expensive one.

    • @theguitarmanifesto
      @theguitarmanifesto  6 років тому

      The mexican classic player Fender Jag I had felt every part a fender but the sharps frets and just general feel is more like a vintage Modified. I think Fender may have rushed these out

    Would you choose this or a duo sonic hs? I've played this duo sonic several times and really like it. However both that I played had issues with the pickup selector. I haven't played the jaguar yet and never have played a jag but I LOVE the blue colour and am really torn between the two. What would you go for? Quite a price difference but I just love both and can't decide. I can't afford both as I'm just a teen but oh well. I'm in an indie rock band and also play blues, rock, alternative and punk at home. Thanks in advance :)

    Have you tried playing the Fender 60s Jaguar Lacquer? I’m looking to get a Jag, and there’s a clear difference in price between the Player Series and the 60s Lacquer. I’m not TOO concerned with price, but if the difference in quality is minimal then I’ll vie for the Player. I do prefer the look of the 60s Lacquer to be honest, but I’m not sure if that alone is worth an extra $400. I will probably also be able to afford a $400ish dollar Mustang if I buy this guitar. I’m mostly interested in a good Jaguar though. So, what’s your opinion on both? If you had to pick one to play alternative rock/grunge music, which would it be?

    Definitely spilt the humbucker off and on from split to full body, regularly use both. Split the humbucker. There's your single. Simple. Tape the switch for the humbucker. Doesn't need to move 🤣

    • @austinr.5526

      Definitely need to ductape a few things normally if the way you play moves the switches.. what I love about this jaguar is that you dont have to worry about accidentally hitting too many buttons, it's simple yet uniquely modified, its definitely suited up for me.. the coil split slider is perfectly aligned side to side so you wont have to ductape it.. (wouldnt want to)- easy to use. If you're accidentally hitting the pick up selector with your playstyle, thatd be a simple fix. Ductape.

    So I have a question.
    I'm starting out playing again and I've been considering getting a Kurt Cobain Fender Jaguar because of the better pickups, but considering how expensive it is I've been thinking of getting a Squier jaguar but can't find a happy medium.
    What would you recommend?
    Forgive my appalling punctuation, my iPhone is a piece of shit.

    • @theguitarmanifesto

      Stabzcell97812 hmm it's a tough one, you could get a Squier Vintage Jag HH but they are discontinued so only available used, or a squier vintage Modified Jaguar but then you will have to route the body to fit humbuckers

    imagine buying a laptop and the hinges didn't fully close, so you hadto replace them if you wanted the thing to close fully. Or that you had go into the motherboard and solder out parts just so it wouldn't overheat after an hour. This is Fender.

    I have this guitar in Blue. It is absolute rubbish. Stay away if you are considering it.
    It does not stay in tune to save its live (after a pro setup and Shim, loctite on saddles) and the pickups sound bad.

  • @matthewcohen7488
    @matthewcohen7488 3 роки тому +3

    I sold mine, honestly I regret it because that guitar played great and had a comfortable feel, and the tuners worked great. I’d just gotten an MIJ Jag and MIJ Mustang so I figured I’d drop one.

  • @matthewcohen7488
    @matthewcohen7488 5 років тому +4

    I like the hum bucker option, and the fact you can split the coil and go for a more traditional Jaguar feel. I also like doing away with some of that redundant Jaguar switching, and making it more straight - forward, like the Cobain, Marr, and American Player series Jags. Aesthetically I wish they had kept the chrome switch covers, so I had the top one added - you just have to precision cut the pick guard and an American pro top switch cover fits. It looks more traditional but also one of a kind because you don't have the bottom cover.

    • @theguitarmanifesto
      @theguitarmanifesto  5 років тому +1

      The humbucker split coil feature is very cool makes it easy more versatile, I agree it does miss the chrome plates for sure
