    I usually remove the 'O' Ring, then immerse the whole thing in brake parts cleaner, let it soak for at least 10minutes, then pulse it, in both directions (as you showed).
    Once it snaps nicely, I rinse with WD-40. Replace the O'Ring and reinstall.
    I find the spraying out can be too messy, I tend to get the stuff in my eyes, or all over my clothes lol

    Have a 2014 Kia Sportage that threw the P0014 Code and has power loss and a ticking sound as if it is out of time. I am going to replace the oil and filter, but am wondering if I clean the VVT and replaced the Exhaust Camshaft Position Sensor if this will fix the ticking and place the engine back in time

    You can also use 1 ltr of diesel as an engine flush.
