What really makes games like Trench War and Entrenched fun is the digging and building, it's the sole reason why enemy sniper? just dig, cant reach the enemy trench? just dig a tunnel, these features singlehandedly makes the games incredibly unique, especially in Trench War, as the match progresses, the battlefield will progressively degrade with the constant artillery and trenches being built, most of the time at the end of each match the battlefield often becomes unrecognizable in comparison to the beginning of the match, just wish we had more than one map though, and more players.
Hello, I am one of the devs for Trench Warfare, and I really enjoyed your video. As you said, the game can get quite slow and is not very engaging, and that is a lot of the general critiques I hear. Behind the scenes, we try to make more compact maps that focus on teamwork (you get more xp for doing the objective), and try to keep the game balanced (no SMGs, all rifles are the same, shotgun is fair). We also try to keep the game historically semi-accurate i.e no automatic guns, all the uniforms represented. The development team is quite amateur since we are all in school, and the lead developer has been absent since april, so idk where the future of the game will lead, but i appreciate your analyzation and criticisms of the game. Thank you!
In Entrenched, I used to have a group of friends where we would just set practically bunkers with the engineer role but due to the fast pace of entrenched by the time you had everything built up, the objective had already changed. But anyway, I love the new video formats!
I remembered when the game was early access where the officer didn't have artillery. People considered the officer as the weakest class because it only has a pistol and saber. The saber was strong though you could kill all the people a whole trench. I tried out the officer it was fun to use the saber so I stuck with it and improved my skills in shooting with the pistol. Then there was a time where an officer led the whole team after that I tried to command and it worked. After that time I constantly used the whistle and each game my team won. Sometimes fighting with other officers leading their team sometimes made us stalemate because we couldn't pass each other's point. The old entrenched was fun because people believed in veteran officers. Honestly I've stopped playing entrenched after the engineer update
In my opinion: !) The best changing map: Entrenched !) The best historical maps/weapons/uniforms. + easy to play from phone: Trench Warfare. !) The best hell battlefield atmosphere: Centaura i) Best weapon impact: Blue Horizon 1919 I really got pleasure of shooting and fighting in this game.

Back then when I played i was an absolutely devoted Sapper and I built fortifications everywhere in the Wazoo and allowed the Team to Easily Defend But now PPsh Tryhards would run straight into the Enemy Point and shoot everyone dead before the Round actually starts. The game was purposely killed, it had been dying for a long time due to Lyzrinn’s horrendous lack of care for anything the community actually wanted. The most recent maps and updates that ruined the game were put into place to literally kill the game. This was done so the team could move onto HB and not care about Karelia. No one even talks about how many veterans were banned by Lyzrinn for speaking out on issues that he didn’t agree with.
Teamwork is the one thing holding Entrenched back. Trying to cap a point? Half of your team are engineers trying to fortify a point you already captured. Now you’re on the defense and the fortress that your team just built? Abandoned for the point behind you. It’s this frustrating “I build, I leave” mindset unexperienced engineers have, and more experienced players use rifleman, skirmisher, really anything else (except flamer, fuck flamer).
as an engineer main, i expect my team to lose a point and go far behind the frontlines to build defenses and trenches. But they often get overwhelmed by enemy forces due to the team's incompetency
As a console player, the WW1 (and sometimes even WW2) games are *specially* limited for us, want to play Centaura? Too bad, isn't available for console, want to play Scorched Earth? Too bad, isn't available for console, want to play Horizon Blue? Too bad, isn't available for console, want to play Frontline Korelia? Too bad, isn't available for console. the best part of horizon blue is actually quite shocking, its use of cover is actually usefull unlike any other game. take for example.. trenches, its a fast paced game with hints of historical accuracy with only one gimmick: being that you can build. while you cant do this in horizon blue i think its important to realize the cover doesnt really matter as the game has ended before you could finish the trench or fort. but in horizon blue you cant just build, there are pre built trenches. THAT ACTUALLY WORK?! i've never seen a game use trenches correctly its honestly shocking the effort that was put into this game.. i could rant on and on about how good and better it is from other games, even like centaura with the charge ability more useful and the more variety of weapons ( keep in mind the grinding system is easy and so much less stressful than other games ) i just love to see how a ww1 was done correctly.
This game has trenches which are decent but most of the game is urban warfare with a bunch of things that are easily to get stuck on. Also many trenches aren’t built in the right direction and it is hard to use any of them because of the trash aiming system.
most arcade ww1 games don't really use trenches in combat, which is why horizion blue is GOATED. One problem tho, I can't afford a good pc, so I have to either play with 10 fps, or play whizzbang
@@user-nf8id6di9b Most WW1 games with trenches are heavily reliant on trenches. Horizon blue has trenches but due to way they are designed it is far more common to have trench combat through the trenches instead of trench charges.
1:15 that war was "smaller" than the greatest conflict in human history yes, like every other war. but ww2 aside ww1 was HUGE and deserves so much more content around it.
Trench Warfare is my favorite WW1 game. I’ve been playing it for years and I find it extremely underrated, with mostly less than 100 players on an average day. I really enjoy the diversity of the uniforms, however, I do agree that the gameplay can be a bit scuffed. I also really like Horizon Blue, especially its attach bayonet feature. I’ve been playing Whizzbang as well since alpha, and it’s one of the most realistic WW1 games I’ve played yet. I also love Entrenched even though many people criticize it and say that it’s bad. I just like the handling of the weapons. In simple words, I think Roblox war games are a gem.
I think Centaura and Horizon Blue are like the middle ground, with centaura being a little closer to arcade, but its still there. They're realistic, but still fun. I really hope more games will be made like this!
Centura is arcade due to it being incredibly fast paced with no real strategy for most maps except for charging or dying. This game definitely is on the realistic side due to having slow gunplay, a body part health system, and unresponsive controls.
Technically not a full on WW1 game, but no game has really captured what I loved about TRENCHES BETA when it launched. That really felt like a WW1 stalemate, and it's more rigid building made things just.. better. It was really what I was looking for in that type of game, using points [as much as I hate the paid thing] and the in game time scale on what you could use, representing the technology of warfare.
One thing about games like Entrecnhed is well, the digging. If you have a good server you can see in real time the match just slowly turn into the hell that are trenches, tunnels and foxholes. Makes you feel like you are actually in WWI. Offensive after defensive, with it being a close win or stalemate.
i will say tho id say pordier at war is pretty good for a ww1 game, even in its early alpha with not much features its incredibly fun during the playtests
In Frontline Karelia, your current level is the level the left, the level number on the right is your next level, that’s why you (Also me) don’t have the lever action unlocked
This video was so well made! I really agree. Games like trench warfare had really realistic game mechanics and great map design but it limited the gameplay and the graphics weren’t the best. Entrenched had great graphics and a fun fast paced style but playing with your team was often frustrating and to me the map design wasn’t the best. Centaura is a really good game that mixes all of these elements together but the historicity of the game wasn’t there since it’s in a fictional setting. Then Horizon Blue came along with everything that made Centaura amazing, mixed it in with Frontline Karelia and set it in a more historically realistic setting. Not to mention it’s also got a unique attack and defense mechanic where the attacking team has to take an objective with limited time and manpower similar to operations in Battlefield 1.
Frontline Karelia and Horizon blue are simply the best fps games in roblox, nothing gets near them when talking about ww1 and ww2. Frontline Karelia is the only game about the continuation war i ever saw in both roblox and steam, so its really an unique game, horizon blue improved in a lot of stuff from karelia, but i really didn't like the new 3rd person aim, i wish they would do the opposite and remove 3rd person, even tho its really cool to look at your uniform it is not really nice to combat, you never know when there is someone behind a wall watching you.
"Frontline Karelia is the only game about the continuation war i ever saw in both roblox and steam" if you want more finland there's il2 forgotten battles which is included in il2 1946 (I haven't really played any of the campaigns or missions so I don't know if they are particularly good but they exist)
Personally i love frontline karelia alot as i've studied the actual war and battles during the winter war, continuation war and lapland war. The game is just built different.
the best part is being and officer, and everyone doing what you say for the sake of winning and victory. its just so epic to lead a random group of people and they all lissen to you during charges
The best ww2 game on Roblox has to be operation overlord… It’s so underrated It has unique healing Realistic gun gameplay Fairly balanced Almost no p2w mechanics, a f2p can do the same as a game pass class.
I see them as friendly P2W but few blemishes are just like "made for greedy snipers" who can spend few dollars just to have little advantage to camouflage
To be fair for trench warfare, it's more optimised for a mobile experience, play any of these games on mobile (if there's even an option), and its simplicity and lack of buttons clogging up half the screen really shines.
Karelia and Horizon Blue does have a lot of similarities to the Red Orchestra series, when I played Karelia for the first time I felt intuitively how rifles work and turns out it is very similar to that of Rising Storm 2!
Horizon Blue is such a great game, I love the (kind of) slow paced combat, but fast paced gameplay, keep up the good work, also, big fan of your old BRM5 videos too, from another old BRM5 youtuber.
Hello there, I'm a dev for Shell-Shock and I have to completely agree. Horizon blue is a perfect rendition of almost everything and it did everything almost correct, It's an amazing game with an amazing playstyle, you dont die too quick nor too fast, teamwork is required and its mostly just bolt action with a few SMGS here and there, I notice alot of WW1 games like to just overbunch it with fast shooters which isnt super realistic. Nice video and keep it up. (Tanks have been added to Shell Shock :O!!! make a video and check it out, would be awesomesauce :) )
Yk, I think Centaura is meant to be more so as a message of war, not so much of a war game. They're a lot of features the devs won't add just to put you into the experience of a frontline trooper. Also, the game has a lot of deaths to show the massive loss of life, that's why at the end of every game it shows how many people died and who won, there's no winner, there's no victorious music or some sort of win credit scenes for the winners, it's just who succeeded and the lost of life.
That is a good point! I didn't really consider that in the production of this video, I solely looked at the gameplay. Looking at it through the lens of a "reality of war" game does put it into another light.
Centaura is not intended to be a message of war. GkTrombley admitted the game's message was a contrast between humanity and nature, with beautiful maps juxtaposed by the dying players
in fact, the problem I have with Karel is that fights happen at a distance and that I always don't see the enemy or the man sees little someone comes close and shoots the whole magazine at me
Yo man loved your video! But I do have to say in defense of WWI style games being limited in diversity, is probably because WWI itself really didnt have much to in (at least in the European theatre). Trench warfare was the dominant style for the great majority of the war which didnt really leave room for diversity if you are trying to be relatively accurate. Although I do agree that they should add some sort of vehicle system to many of these games as it would really enhance the gameplay from stagnate trench warfare.
I agree, and I touched on this in the video. A 100% historically accurate game would be boring, so games add elements (abundant full/semi auto guns) to enhance the gameplay that take away from the accuracy. I think Horizon Blue is a good middle ground overall compared to many other games
Two things i dislike about middle ground ww1 games like centaura is that it forces the camera to look at your dead body (also takes you out of first person) and that you can't disable music
I've been playing Entrenched for a long time, and to be honest I myself can't quite put a finger on what I like so much about it compared to these other games. One thing I can definitely say besides the projectile system is that Entrenched offers the opportunity for a player, or team of players, to take control of the map and essentially reconstruct it to their liking through digging and engineer buildings: for better or worse...
Honestly, I’m just happy that there are so many world war 1 games as of late. You have many options, on steam and surprisingly Roblox, in which back then you only had battlefield 1 and verdun.
its a fun game but its dead now, the creator stopped devolping games and left everything which means the game wont get any more updates and it will probably slowly die out.
No man’s land is not an objectively WW1 place. In WW2 they also had a no man’s land. No mans land is the space between two enemy frontlines. Is there something on the map that strictly relates it to WW1?
This game is Unhistorical in 1919 the german empire It no longer existed Like other things I've seen in this game So I don't understand why it's so good for you
The reason it’s set in 1919 is because it’s alternate history, a what if situation, in this situation it’s “What if WW1 didn’t end in 1918, and Germany returned to Verdun?”
Centaura is the best war game in my opinion, because its purpose is to symbolize the chaos of humans and the tranquility of nature. It’s also not ww1, although inspired by it.
Though Horizon Blue is not half bad of a game, I do think that Trench War (the game that was first shown in the video) is better, the digging mechanic of the game allows better customization, the yearly progression that actually changes things also is cool. Not only that, but the abilities of the game beyond just public servers, I've seen multiple WW1 groups do gamenights in Trench War because the map is so flexible. Not to mention the realism the game has. Also, there is a new update coming soon for TW that adds a brand new gun system, plus new maps.
That's fair. I do think that Trench War does some things better than Horizon Blue. Its digging mechanic is a very in-depth mechanic that adds an extra layer to the game. Though it does take a level of patience to play it, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but does drive away a large amount of players from playing for an extensive time.
@@DandKGames i think patience may play a part in it, however, the game also never has enough people in it in order for a action filled game, the game has been declining for a while due to lack of updates and that might be what is driving players away.
I agree, Trenches is too fast-paced, making it a bit weird. You basically grab an unrealistic gun and you run around shooting people. I played for a few months, but now it feels like I just wasted a bunch of Robux on their gamepasses. I am a dedicated OG Centaura player now and in my opinion, it's better than Trenches, especially compared to the fact that Centaura is not pay to win and won't charge you a single robux, because there's nothing to buy in Centaura that costs Robux. I am an OG Centaura player and I am also a pro. I love the lore of Centaura and I have even written a few fan-fictions. It's rare for me to go a day without a thought that has something to do with Centaura.
I agree. I think that Centaura is a good middle ground between its depiction and its gameplay, though it does come with relatively simple gameplay compared to some other games.
Well you have to look at the difference between ww2 and ww1. WW1 is where it all started like planes, tanks, and other types of warfare. Like can you tell one battle where there was a battle like Normandy in ww1? WW1 is a siege/waiting game where there's "Over the top boys attack!" and WW2 is more fast paced like Germanys Blitzkrieg and where tanks and planes are better like the Russian T-34 or the German Messerschmitt Bf 109.
Yes, there is a variety in strategy between the real WWI and WWII. But usually real war strategy is not taken into consideration when making a game about the war, it usually boils down to spawn, run somewhere, try to get kills, repeat. I think that with that lens there is room for a game about WWI aircraft or tanks.
It's a shame that Trench War gets so little players because it's ABSOLUTELY peak in servers filled with people. The most epic battles occur at the high playercounts and the charges are honestly quite adrenaline inducing in the thick of the battle. It's a game where teamwork and tactics are very much possible, e. g. one team can easily get the upper hand with the right positioning of the MG. It's just never really able to shine as the playercount is low. I've played Horizon Blue and had a really good time with it, and I do have some issues with it. We'll see how the devs flesh it out, but Trench War takes the first place personally, for now.
Absolutely agree I’m happy people still glazing dead ww1 game like trench war lol I still play it trench war is SUPER FUN when you in a full server I actually remember last week I played the game I was in a full server AND IM A OFFICER dude if you pick the officer you can summon artillery and I got the mortar summon like basically you can barrage again after just 60 second cooldown and there are like 15-18 player in my trench so we actually use ALL artillery to bombard the enemy trench (near the abandoned village) we can’t even recognize the battle field terrain and we blow the whistle after the bombard then start to run out the trench and fighting and dude ITS LIKE A MOVIE and luckily we manage to kill and access to the trench and in the trench the battle was ABSOLUTELY traumatized me like a rifle man like beside me get burned to dead by a flame thrower and that flame thrower get shot in the head then died then the German use artillery ON THEIR TRENCH so everybody in our team just died and somehow we get reinforcements in time then the battle turned in tunnel warefare and basically artillery is garbage now cuz everyone in their tunnel so we fight for 30 minutes then decide to truce and dancing with each other on the village it was so fun lol but only last long for some hour then everyone left trench war is PEAK it might look bad and clunky but when the server is full it is a chaotic mess and I love it
Petition to take the mechanics from Horizon Blue into Karelia. Both games are amazing, and I think they are the cloest thing I can find on Roblox to my ideal playstyle, but my God, Karelia's movement and the actions are just so clunky. I find it so annoying that I have to basically stop and cycle the bolt, then accidentally run, then have to stop and cycle the bolt again. Besides that both are great games, and as for Horizon Blue, first time I played it, immediately fell in love with it.
The gameplay for Frontline Karila and Horizon Blue are greatly inspired by classics such as Rising Storm 1, Red Orchestra 2 and Rising Storm Vietnam From the limited ammo upon spawning to the lack of a medic class, while still providing players with field dressings to patch up bleeds from non-lethal shots and to regenerate a very small amount of health, the gameplay feels greatly inspired, but definitely in a good way; I always wondered what a Rising Storm type game would look in a WWI setting, and this Horizon Blue is a great execution of this concept!
Poor karelia, so superior though misunderstood game, it is an amezing game, the problem is those people who just want to run around at 50 km/h and dont want to listen to the squad leader😢
I’m a sucker for immersion, and you have valid points yes, but I personally don’t like Horizon Blue simply because the UI is off putting and I have a trash PC.
That also i am Mobile player and it was PAIN… (And also i am has All ages account which is pretty sad because i cannot play more Horizon Blue and also if i am want change the setting i am must enter 4 digit pin and confirm pin -_-.)
The realism in this game is a big factor of why I play it Artillery is as deadly as it was in ww1 (60% of casualties was caused by it or something) Suppression and constant explosions create chaos and confusion Running actually makes sense in this game because you can’t pivot 90 degrees and maintain momentum like all other games The recoil on some guns suck; like their real life counterparts Cooperation and teamwork is encouraged and actually works Guns are accurately represented because they usually kill in one shot Bleeding out and healing system is unique from other games and realistic Individual body parts can take damage Switching items takes time instead of instantaneous Proning near grenades increases survival chances
what I like about BH is like if History was alternated since it was set 1919, its like what if the German Empire broke the treaty, AP is developers when it comes to this type of games
I love Horizon Blue and it really makes me hope the devs come out with more WW1 games for example one with the Americans since they seem to be in hardly any WW1 games.
I don't think you should compare Centaura to these other games, considering it takes place in a fictional planet with fictional countries. Still, great video!
Yeah, and also in other trench games, the tactics of the time are just suicide, but in horizon blue, ive had games carried by time accurate tactics, it is almost like just cause it is an old tactit doesnt mean it bad(im being sarcastic id ya couldnt tell)
Thats the best ww1 game And the best napoleonic war game is guts and blackpowder (technically a zombies game but it's in the napoleonic times) And best D-day game is.. d-day
I'd sadly like to say that Trench Warfare (the game) has pretty much ended production after what I've seen and heard to be as a high level of toxicity which is sadly so common in most of Roblox's communities. It still had updates planned but it's unclear whether or not when or if at all they'll release. Trench Warfare was one of my favorite WW1 games even for its retro gameplay and I preferred it over many of the arcade shooters which I felt lacked stable gameplay. I do think that Horizon Blue is a good World War 1 game but at the end of the day it's not always the gameplay that makes it up, but the community.
In 2022 I think in trench war I remember just building the wall of China it's suprisingly effective on not getting killed by a random Machine gunner and a good cover to avoid getting shelled I legit was making plan on making it better by adding barbwire pit and putting metal under them to make sure the enemy cannot dig to escape them. The game is fun it's fun (When there's more then 10 players) I've spend hours on it hope the game get more players so that maybe we can get a new map.
I wish they were more games like that one called trenches (I think it’s called that I don’t remember it’s the one with the smurfs and the furries) I love how the map just starts as a normal natural area and over time the players naturally destroy it while building trenches and launching artillery. I especially love the building aspect as you can build big and elaborate trench lines
I honestly prefer Centaura or Trenches (the beta one that has building and a catboy nation) because, at least for me, they more closely embody the spirit of WWI while not being overly punishing or difficult.
That's fair, I think the game is set in the 1920's but I could be wrong. But I also think it far more resembles a game in the WWI genre than anything else. It also says it was inspired by Battlefield 1 in the description.
Funny that no one is talking about the rough development of this game and how the actions of the dev team from the previous game along with lack of care fore the player base created this very rushed game in order to save their reputation.
Trenches:Beta is the best in my opinion, but it gets a lot of hate because the community is pretty weird and there are a species of humans that are cats which a lot of us (including me) call them furries
IMO thirdperson in a game like this is just a recipe for disaster. Suggested that they removed it for Karelia, and got muted/kicked for my troubles. “I know game design and I want people to be able to look at their 150 robux uniforms” is basically what the head dev’s response was. (Completely ignoring the fact that it can be exploited SO easily by being able to see enemies without any risk to yourself) I mean, look at Rising Storm 2, that game had quite a bit of character customization while not needing to have thirdperson, lmao.
Skitgaming reviewed Karelia and criticized third person, with Lyz (head dev) saying the same thing. kind of dumb but i guess its cool to view your own uniforms also i seriously doubt you got kicked just because of that
Trench Warfare can be pretty fast paced at times even with just bolt actions, with classes like tier 3 scouts and riflemen, and melee brawl can get hectic pretty fast too
What do you think of trenches (beta)? Its a game where almost every class (except officer) can build, but very slowly, it’s definitely not realistic but can get into a fun stalemate

But now PPsh Tryhards would run straight into the Enemy Point and shoot everyone dead before the Round actually starts.
Even Hitting those people with a Rifle was futile as most of the Time you only wound the guy and he would just turn around and load you with lead in which it kills you in the same 1-2 Shots like a rifle.

Anyone else love horizon blue for the visuals? Sometimes I go to spectator just to watch the spectacle unfold
The artillery is so cool
the best part of horizon blue is actually quite shocking, its use of cover is actually usefull unlike any other game.
take for example.. trenches, its a fast paced game with hints of historical accuracy with only one gimmick: being that you can build. while you cant do this in horizon blue
i think its important to realize the cover doesnt really matter as the game has ended before you could finish the trench or fort.
but in horizon blue you cant just build, there are pre built trenches. THAT ACTUALLY WORK?! i've never seen a game use trenches correctly its honestly shocking the effort
that was put into this game.. i could rant on and on about how good and better it is from other games, even like centaura with the charge ability more useful and the more variety
of weapons ( keep in mind the grinding system is easy and so much less stressful than other games ) i just love to see how a ww1 was done correctly.
Horizon Blue despite not having a building mechanic does integrate trenches quite well into their combat! It is quite refreshing to see.

Also i love how the title image for trench warfare is just: chicken
Centura is arcade due to it being incredibly fast paced with no real strategy for most maps except for charging or dying. This game definitely is on the realistic side due to having slow gunplay, a body part health system, and unresponsive controls.

Technically not a full on WW1 game, but no game has really captured what I loved about TRENCHES BETA when it launched. That really felt like a WW1 stalemate, and it's more rigid building made things just.. better. I cant wait for trenches 2 to come out
Only problem i have with trenches is it feels like i cant hit anything or im hititng something but its not doing a thing
One thing about games like Entrecnhed is well, the digging. If you have a good server you can see in real time the match just slowly turn into the hell that are trenches, tunnels and foxholes. Makes you feel like you are actually in WWI. Offensive after defensive, with it being a close win or stalemate.

Yes! Horizon Blue took both of what it predecessors good and made a game that mixed the two 👌
This is amazing criticism, observations and overall a good video. Keep up the work, man!
Thank you!
Horizon blue really gives the gritty and fun side

The best ww2 game on Roblox has to be operation overlord…
It’s so underrated
It has unique healing
Realistic gun gameplay
Fairly balanced
Almost no p2w mechanics, a f2p can do the same as a game pass class.
same goes to Karelia... i same both games are not P2W wnd both are fun both get 10 outta 10, wish we get more games like Karelia and Op. Overlord

Hello there,
I'm a dev for Shell-Shock and I have to completely agree.
Horizon blue is a perfect rendition of almost everything and it did everything almost correct, It's an amazing game with an amazing playstyle, you dont die too quick nor too fast, teamwork is required and its mostly just bolt action with a few SMGS here and there,
I notice alot of WW1 games like to just overbunch it with fast shooters which isnt super realistic.
Nice video and keep it up.
(Tanks have been added to Shell Shock :O!!! make a video and check it out, would be awesomesauce :) )
Actually, if this is true can
You Recommend to Add the ottomans. This is Probably fake
More people would play shell shock if you spent time making guns easier to use and added more diverse maps and better controls.
Ooo tanks, nice
I feel like horizon blue will kickstart the wave of triple A games on roblox again.
I swear roblox has the best of every genre 😭😭🙏🙏
Fact that there is a literal ww1 map in scorched earth called no mans lands
No man’s land is not an objectively WW1 place. In WW2 they also had a no man’s land. No mans land is the space between two enemy frontlines. Is there something on the map that strictly relates it to WW1?

The gameplay for Frontline Karila and Horizon Blue are greatly inspired by classics such as Rising Storm 1, Red Orchestra 2 and Rising Storm Vietnam
From the limited ammo upon spawning to the lack of a medic class, while still providing players with field dressings to patch up bleeds from non-lethal shots and to regenerate a very small amount of health, the gameplay feels greatly inspired, but definitely in a good way; I always wondered what a Rising Storm type game would look in a WWI setting, and this Horizon Blue is a great execution of this concept!

The realism in this game is a big factor of why I play it
Artillery is as deadly as it was in ww1 (60% of casualties was caused by it or something)
Suppression and constant explosions create chaos and confusion
Running actually makes sense in this game because you can’t pivot 90 degrees and maintain momentum like all other games

Bleeding out and healing system is unique from other games and realistic
Individual body parts can take damage
Switching items takes time instead of instantaneous
Proning near grenades increases survival chances

I'd sadly like to say that Trench Warfare (the game) has pretty much ended production after what I've seen and heard to be as a high level of toxicity which is sadly so common in most of Roblox's communities. It still had updates planned but it's unclear whether or not when or if at all they'll release. Trench Warfare was one of my favorite WW1 games even for its retro gameplay and I preferred it over many of the arcade shooters which I felt lacked stable gameplay. I do think that Horizon Blue is a good World War 1 game but at the end of the day it's not always the gameplay that makes it up, but the community.

IMO thirdperson in a game like this is just a recipe for disaster. Suggested that they removed it for Karelia, and got muted/kicked for my troubles.
“I know game design and I want people to be able to look at their 150 robux uniforms” is basically what the head dev’s response was. (Completely ignoring the fact that it can be exploited SO easily by being able to see enemies without any risk to yourself)
I mean, look at Rising Storm 2, that game had quite a bit of character customization while not needing to have thirdperson, lmao.
Skitgaming reviewed Karelia and criticized third person, with Lyz (head dev) saying the same thing. kind of dumb but i guess its cool to view your own uniforms

Trench Warfare can be pretty fast paced at times even with just bolt actions, with classes like tier 3 scouts and riflemen, and melee brawl can get hectic pretty fast too
Welp, HB just got cancelled, not all good things last forever, time to return to the slop
one thing i will say is i think the reason why there are more ww2 games is because of how much ww2 did compared to ww1
Grave/digger feels good [not really ww1 but it feels good and tense like ww1
What do you think of trenches (beta)? Its a game where almost every class (except officer) can build, but very slowly, it’s definitely not realistic but can get into a fun stalemate
I really like the game! I chose not to include it in this video as it focusses much more on the building aspect and is sort of in it's own category.
@@DandKGames agree
trenches beta is probably my favorite ww1 game. But too bad it died
