    centaura is such a good game, mainly for the reason that you aren't important. you are just a cog in the murder machine that is war, with only one saying: "only the dead have seen the end of war."
    it has such a deep message, it makes you feel like you're actually participating in a war against 2 countries. the death counter at the end of every mission really makes you reflect on what just happened, because those massive death tolls are real things. thousands and even millions are killed in war and this game represents that perfectly with how easy it is to get mowed down, burnt alive, or just plain stabbed to death. because that's how it happens, you could be alive and the next second you aren't.

      All of this, and the environment, thousands of gunshots, endless artillery volleys, men screaming. Seeing fellow soldiers turn into fine colored rain the moment an artillery shell hits. One instantly dies as a punishment for peeking too much. Epic Advancements with men screaming right after the officer blows their whistle. There has been NO game that made me feel like im in a real war, made me feel like a hopeless traumatized soldier in the midst of a hell

    I like how, at the end, after they all die. There's no solemn message, there's no speech, there's no victory or defeat. There's just the piano, and the uncomfortable silence. The cost of what has happened. No one is going over to joke about nicknames, no regular is coming back to that table for Tiffany. No young adult is going to sit on that dock. It doesn't need words, or even powerful music. People with their own mistakes, habits, impressions upon this world, now quantified to nothing more than a number on a toll. And for the time they did fight, they had to endure something no man, woman or child could truly comprehend. Instead of laughing over that table that brought joy, ordering that coffee that alone brought comfort, sitting on that dock that brought tranquility. There's nothing. And their abscence, makes everything. Feel. Empty. Brilliantly done. This is why I subscribed.

    This hit me in the gut a little bit, as I am just about done with my OSUT training for the US Army. Never thought I would be able to do it, but I am here and I know what I got myself into. I am a 12b and am well aware if the US were to ever get into war, I'm going to most likely be one of the first to die, whether it's in a combat gunfight or mishap explosives. I have tremendous respect for the soldiers that have fallen for this country and hope to be able to do even perform a fraction of the heroism they showed. Always place the mission first, never accept defeat, never quit, never leave a fallen comrade. Love your family and make it obvious. Have fun and enjoy life, no matter the circumstances you're in. And remember, this may be a produced work of art, but it is all too real. God bless you all.

      Isn’t 12B combat engineers, don’t engineers build fortifications and do maintenance and whatnot? (This is a genuine question as I don’t know much about the army.)

    • @ashtonplatt6602
      @ashtonplatt6602 11 місяців тому +23

      Yes, you are right, it is combat engineer. And yes, we can and will do that, as that is part of our job. But, the thing is, we usually do that in a combat zone, sometimes even while combat might be happening. So by default, we're probably going to be in combat and in danger often. Not only that, but 12b is tasked with the job of "clearing the way". Say there's some c-wire (pretty sharp and just bad if yknow what I mean) and it's blocking a path. We would be tasked with disposing of that c-wire, whether it's stealthily cutting it, or blowing it the hell up with a bangalore. Usually, we're also tasked with clearing minefields so other can pass through. Not everyone does or will do that part, but it is something someone WILL have to do, and that makes it very dangerous. I also do believe my drill sergeants told us that our lifespan in combat (at least as the one who clears everything first) is less than 30 seconds, which is a pretty low.
      I didn't know a lot of this stuff before I went in. These are all things I learnt with my OSUT training. The internet really doesn't give you the whole story or complete job of some MOS's, so I understand the question and I hope this helped out at least a little. I also haven't even been in that long, so keep that in mind.

Well-written dialogues, an understandable plot with a beginning and an end, sound effects, musical accompaniment. All this wonderful conveys all the horror and despair of that time. Hearing that made me imagine my loved ones out there, maybe even me, speaking in a language that always brought comfort to us in our last moments.

    knowing the lore behind Centaura as well... their sacrifices were all in vain. Corvus allies with Antares to overwhelm Cetus, and Cetus falls within months due to Antares superiority, marking the end of the south Corvus war and the beggining of the Centauran war

    • @Barrystue
      @Barrystue 6 місяців тому

      One thing I do really love is how
      Nobody left the south Corvus war in the right
      Cetus was the reason behind the whole thing, having basically screwed Corvus over in their seizure of south Corvus
      Corvus, while totally in the right to invade, turned to committing several warcrimes during the war, like gas attacks.
      And of course there is Antares, who exploited a conflict between its neighbors for its ruler’s own imperialistic goals

    I just, wow, I am at a loss for words.
    This short video truly encapsulates war and the cost of it, people with normal lives, soon ending up in a hell on earth scenario just to become a mere number.
    And damn does the ending hit hard.

    Unironically, beautiful, some of the scenes gave me actual anti-war film vibes, and the ending made me genuinely sad and a little teary. This is something I’ve never seen done in Roblox, and especially not this well constructed. I want to write more but am at a loss for words. Thank you for bestowing this upon us.

    The content this guy puts out is just fucking amazing. My attention span isn't the best, so I usually find myself skipping through most videos I watch. But whenever Ratskewer posts a video, I sit through the entirety of them. This guy deserves way more subscribers and it won't be long before more people find this gem of a channel. Keep up the good work man!

    Like i really thought it would be a kinda happy story we’re the main guy survives but just dahm how all the people just die never expect it also props to the voice actor of Raphael’s mom at the end that shit almost made me cry Like this shows the true horrors of war this short film just makes the game feel 100% better like this gave me chills this could fr be a movie storyline like all the voice acting is so good and it feels so real and like every moment felt real like all the emotions like when James died and Raphael like as I said this shit almost made me cry like the emotion of rookie after the main guy dies seems so real like I felt for him there even though it was just acting like I don’t know how to put into words how good this is (also srry for no punctuation it’s probably hard to read lol)

    I remember my great-grandpa telling me stories of that war, describing how horrifying it was when he was in the Blackton mines. He said that sometimes at night, he would wake up hearing screams out of nowhere, even though no one was there. He told me one story about being at Capri Valley, where he saw all his friends in his battalion turn to ash from a large fireball in one instant. I still remember his quote from one of his stories: "If I had to change one thing in my life, I would never sign up for the military."

God that ending sequence really hit me hard, that was brilliantly done, absolutely amazing. I have no words honestly, and no words can quite describe how well made this is. Once again, amazingly done, keep doing what you do, and thank you for making this. Amazing.

    What I really like about this video and the game Centaura itself is that it doesn’t glorify anything about war at all. There is no “main character”, there’s no powerful moment where one of the soldiers give a speech and they all go home safe, we watch them all experience fear, die, and then the battle goes on. No one even gets a memorial aside from the soldier arriving at their parents’ door, which really leaves the harrowing feeling war should leave on a person. 10/10, good shit man 👍

    The first Centauran wars (1908-1944) were a series of wars involving trench warfare which involved the most horrific and bloody battles the world had seen. Millions died for their country. Mothers never saw their children again, wives never got to hug their husbands again, children never saw their fathers again. Cetan forces were overwhelmed by the brutality of the Corvan army leading to the fall of Cetus. The Anterians crushed the Corvan militay and squeezing them out of their occupied lands. The Anterians claimed the title of victors in 1944. The total death toll has not been clarified. We salute to the fallen soldiers of the Centauran wars. We thank you for your sacrifices. May your souls rest in undisturbed peace.
