Nothing Ear Vs Nothing Ear (a) Review | Super-Budget Buds!

- Reviewing the Nothing Ear and Nothing Ear (a), two fresh 2024 pairs of budget true wireless earbuds costing just £129 and £99 respectively. Boasting ANC, triple mics and upgraded battery life, the Nothing Ear and Nothing Ear (a) are among the best TWS for a price under £150. But which is my favourite?
Well, for just £30 more, you get a water-resistant, wireless charging case, improved codec support and audio personalisation. It's the last feature that makes me highly recommend the Nothing Ear over that more budget A model of buds. With that enabled, the sound was richer and more detailed and a lot more enjoyable.
You've got effective active noise cancellation, with an adaptive option if you fancy it. Battery life was one of the weaknesses of the old Nothing Ear 2, but that's also been improved here for both models. In fact, the Nothing Ear A can survive for even longer than the regular True Wireless Earbuds.
So that's the Nothing Ear and Nothing Ear (a) in a nutshell! Let us know your thoughts on these 2024 TWS below.

With that British accent, all i hear is " nothing ear ear " 😂
I'm from the same city as him and that's all I can hear too 😂
Same
Nothing eh eh😂
Nothing er eh 😂 😂
Nothing have trolled our Uncle Spurt hard here 😂
Here on the left we have the nothing AYYY and on the right the nothing AYYY AYY

eiii 😂
Call me old fashion, but £129, and £99 are far from what I'd call 'super-budget' earphones. Not unless the word budget comes with a long list of warnings, like an advert for pain medication.
Absolutely! Super budget is more like 20 dollars lol. This is premium
No premium earbuds cost $500 dollars plus 😂
Exactly. For a few $ more you can get some Galaxy earbuds and they're probably quite a bit better than these.
True. but to be fair, premium earphones are ridiculously pricey
@@enesjei Tell me about it, I recently paid £4.25 for a pair of Lenovo GM2 Pro's :)
Waiting for Nothing Eyes, Nothing Nose, Nothing Mouth and Nothing....

you earned a sub for this, love how you managed to review both and compare bu I still left felling like I watched 2 videos
Kudos to be the first review on my timeline!
Nicely done Spurt! Will be upgrading to the nothing ear!
Hello my grand son is a Canadian student at Sunderland U and works part time at the Sunderland FC stadium,I’m in Toronto and often watch your videos….keep up the good work mate.
Cheers mate. Got the Ear a on pre order. Love the yellow colour
I've just pre-ordered the ear (a) from the Nothing website in that funky yellow. Can't wait to try them. Great video and usual Chris 🙏
worth it?
@@Snooplionzmada definitely 👍
@@minimalisteve1 Really? as good as airpod pros if you've tried?
@@Snooplionzmada commenting for notification.
@@minimalisteve1 Whats the battery life like for you? How comfortable is it to wear? Does it bleed noise?
Finally, been waiting for this since their live. Still, my pocket got nothing 🥴😂
Really funny 😂😂😂😹
Hey Uncle Spurt, would you consider doing a review of the best earbuds for 2023/2024? Kinda in the same way as you have reviewed Best Camera Phones… thank you 🙏🏻
Uncle Spurt, do you have any plans on reviewing the new in-ear Fair Buds by Fairphone???
The nothing ear( a )are about the same price as the galaxy buds fe would like to see comparison between the two
I already have air pods pro 2 but man I love the design of these
Same here, but I bought the nothing ear and tbh they sound better than my air pods pro 2
I have super small ears. All buds hurt after a few minutes. How are these for small ear canal? thanks
Wenever i get notification from ue channel i instantly knew something fresh & amazing coming, been using ear 2 & they are grt,so wats ur views on ear a shud i go for it or not

love the design of the ear (a), makes me want to get it over the ear, though dislike how a few features seem software locked
Does either of them have the "ear pressure release" thing?
I was hoping the ear (a) was a new version of the ear (stick) (by that I mean without the silicone tips, because constantly shoving things inside your ears can be annoying). Now I wonder if that product will ever get an upgrade 😅
Terrific Chris.
Could you check put the new Doogee DK10? Said to be alot of phone for the money
Were these Ear and Ear(a) buds inter-chargeable ?
So is the ear ear the new ear 2 or is the near ear the new ear 2 but the ear ear is more budget
I am definitely getting The ear. I love this company. So fuckin cool and smart.
listen you on "nothing ear (2)" love it
I want to talk to my family at night when everyone else is sleeping in my room (due to the time difference) and I can't talk loud as it will disturb them. Will nothing ear (a) or 2 pic my voice in this case or is it better to go with Air pods pro 2. I'm an Android user and i dont want to opt to apple only because of the mic as most of the features wont work well with Android. Please help me on this....
How is the Nothing Ear in comparison to the Google Pixel Pro Buds? I find the Buds Pro such a disappointment, so I'm looking for a new pair of headphones.
How do the Nothing ear compare to the Moto Buds+
There's acutally LDAC on both of them now, before the ear 2 had LHDC at best, which my phone doesn't have
for me it was a search engine mess indeed thanks for the clarification
How do they compare to soundcore liberty pro 3 or 4?
I bought both the ear 1 and ear 2 and Nothing still has build quality issues. I had to super glue the body since its adhesive came off.
Hopefully it will be possible to configure these without using their proprietary app.
Nothing design language is so good :0
Great video, I haven't stopped by for a while, over 1m subscribers now 👍
I picked up a pair of Pixel buds Pro and i absolutely hated them. Even when spending hours tinkering with them, updating them, using wavelet, it did not do anything. I ordered the Nothing (a)'s to see if i like them. I get them tomorrow.
That pinching function is a deal breaker for me. Still rocking the first version with the slide to control volume and taps to control rest
Can you use one bud at a time ?
The A a think but wondering if om gonna use all that quality on my iPhone 14, with codec will it use?
Aac
Moto edge 50 ultra video????
How's the bass on these?
I remember having the black one and the right one is broken only in a year😢 the earbud is too easily broken
Can you pair them on iPhone or it have to be nothing phone ?
The Nothing Ear in bland black or white. Agree that funky yellow on the Ear a is nice. Shame no more colourways for the Ear.
Can i use nothing ear a earbuds to use ear 2 charging box
Can I connect it to nothing phone + iPhone at same time
Hello ear a have volume controls ?
Is it compatible to any device?
How well does it work with iPhone?
Does it have google find my features? :D
ive already got the Ear (2) (using them to watch this actually) and theyre good but im waiting for Nothing to change the damn "pinch" controls to the standard touch sensors. its just slightly more cumbersome and im sure has cost me an extra few seconds of my time over the months using them. its an unnecessary "quirk" that Carl should compromise.
How's transparency compared to nothing Ear 2? I found ear 2s performance bad in that respect
transparency mode is said to be same level as ear 2. i own ear 2 and will wait until this catches up to airpods level of clarity. transparency mode is not my main selling point though. the new ANC is probably more promising.
1 selling point for me is the optimised bass on the Ear (3). there is big limitation on ear 2 regarding clean bass
Is there any logical way of buying Nothing Ear, if I have Ear 2?
Still rocking my nothing ear 1s, still do the job. No reason to upgrade yet.
Just wondering, can the Ears fit in the Ear (a) case and vice versa?
Buy both. Same colour. Shuffle and blind test. Let us know how you get on. Or don't.
does anyone have any info on the battery life on the nothing ears? (actual battery life not just what the company says). I have nothing ear 2s and they are amazing but might have the worst battery life i have ever seen
No mention of ChatGPT?
the hole is not for fidgeting... you can place one earbud in and with the magnets so it doesn't fall as easily.
Nothing tablet needed also 💯💯
doing alright buddy? looking a bit thin there
So basically, same features, just audio and battery improvements?
Sir Please Unboxing Moto Edge 50 Ultra 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
I really want to know how the anc stacks up against airpods pro 2.
Same
I own both the AirPods are superior
@@carlson2012abqbofc the price gap is sky high
Fairphone 5 and buds reviews please 👍
Pls not. Worst phone and buds ever😂
@@TschiTschero and why is that?
@@bdssoaz nah, im not fan of the concept to repair an already outdated phone in 5 years
@@TschiTschero that's a point of view, and i don't disagree. I'm in favor of being able to repair and diy replacement and maintenance (just like i do with my PC), but yes, the parts that you are not able to replace, like the processor, must be able to keep up with years of support. If they can manage that, I'm up for it.
Which one’s better?
Nothing ear 2 vs nothing ear (a)
Ear 2
Tech Spurt never fails to make me spurt
Any big differences with the CMF?
The audio on nothing ear or even ear a is way way better trust me
I really dislike the Nothing Ear case, I really wish they had the symmetrical design that the a's (and every other earbud case) has. Or at the very least the case opens at a diagonal. Having to tilt my wrist awkwardly like that to drop one earbud or the other in gets a bit annoying sometimes
So should I get the ear 2 for less money or get the ear (3)? I need a replacement for my Huawei freebuds pro 2
Ear 2 sucked at battery life for me, I returned them.
Imo you are better off with getting Pixel Buds Pro. You can usually get them quite cheap on the market once Google fires them out as preorder bonus.
Many people say the sound is better at the nothing ear though
@@chronchris1486 exactly how much hours of Playback
I would go with Realme Air 5 pro can't go wrong with Dolby Digital, LDAC, 360 Spatial.
If you don't need the Yellow Ear (a), can you send it to me because my favourite colour is Yellow 💛 and I don't have an earphone for long?
Will go for nothing ear
The design of these really remind me of the nokia lumia days.
I can't tell if your saying A-A or Ear -A with the accent! 😱😲😛
I think your take on the mic quality isn't aligned with mine. The quality is extremely poor and some of your words with the artificial background noise are almost inaudible. I dread to think how these would perform in real conversations. I don't know, really not impressed with that and it would be enough for me to steer clear of the product.
The app is similar to my hearing aid app 😂
There's nothing ear, a? (for us Northern folk)
7:54 "Audiophiles won't be impressed" Nothing buds are one of the go-tos for audiophiles since the 2s. DMS, who has helped with tuning, said the a is very similar to the Ear with slightly sparklier treble (according to the fr graph). It's interesting how real audiophiles go for galaxy buds or nothing ear, though most reviewers say the xm5's are best (which they defo aren't imo)
Audiophiles don't use Bluetooth headphones.
@@chronchris1486They aren't a monolith, there's a lot of audiophiles who do use them.
@@chronchris1486 the term audiophiles goes as far as specifying people who like alot of music to people spending 50k on a setup with no real benefit except status to people who simply are experts on sound reproduction and know how to tune their stuff themselves or people who swear on unaltered vintage stuff from the 70's. there really isn't a limit to audiophiles. the phile after audio simply means "like". audiophile basically means "i like sound"
Imagine I got the Ear (2) for £109 on deal a month or so ago and then they released Ear (a) for £99 im gutted mate. The Ear (2) is still a really good earbud though.
Is it Ayr, Air,Heir or Ear 👂 🤔 your accent cracks me up😂😂😂
The orange ones look like CaT made them.
OPEN ear!!! design was missed here with the cheaper option and more colourful option like Red,Blue, off white ect.
I want to know about the chat GPT
Just ordered a 2a today they should well offer a discount or free pair of the a with a 12gb ram 2a 😂😂
Red is right on all chifi iems.
Good luck to non-Brits distinguishing the Nothing 'eyuhh' 'ayhh' 😁😁
Nothing ear sound quality stomps on most all other buds
Yup super budget, but somehow galaxy buds fe still cheaper from samsung official store than ear A in my country.
Yah, samsung best with all that great functions. Nothing is nothing.
How that price is budget?
Nothing Mustard Packet!
Waiting for everything from Nothing .
He said that nothing ear ear???
Are they better than AirPods ??😮
Yes
Just get Soundcore buds for a third of the price.
we need a new ear stick
Why didn't Nothing phone wasn't name as nothing 👁️
Coz you use your fingers and ears too
So the budget version is basically ear wax colour.
Budget ear buds 99 quid £25 more like it
Those controls require an awful lot of pinching but there's no setting to pinch a loaf!
I will sell my kidney to Nothing
The moon drops have really broken the definition of "super budget"
Space?
