Fantastic review, might just be bias as an ear(2) owner, but I prefer the audio on my ear 2's than the new ones, from all the tests it sounds like they took a step back. Listening to this on sennheiser headphones right now and the 2024 ear sounds off.
Just bought Ear and am now listening to this on HD600. On every test, Ear sounds worse than ear(2). Hopefully drivers are improved (otherwise why would they release a new version with worse drivers) and I can fix whatever will bother me with the EQ.
Something that is not mentioned anywhere is that the ear 2 has Graphene diaphragm speakers rather than the Ceramic found on the Ear 2024. My own ears and hefty amount of research on the google says that graphene isn’t only better than ceramic but also one of the best materials for speaker diaphragms as it’s many times stronger than diamond and lighter than any other material. Look it up.
Had Ear (2) sold and buy Ear (not 3) the main difference is punchier, snappier bass response and overall more dynamic range. Ear (2) sound good at given price but Ear (not 3) are much more enjoyable specially for rock music.
Thanks for this great comparison. It was definitely needed & much appreciated. I own many earbuds but I’ve yet to own anything from Nothing & highly interested in picking up a pair. Great work like always 💯💪👍

This was an amazing review, extremely easy to understand, and helped me make a decision. Personally, sound quality rules over all other factors, and in my opinion I found that the Nothing Ear 2 had the best sound quality over all three of the earbuds through your sound tests. I listened to this through my Senheiser HD600s and to me the Ear 2 just sounded over all more clear and balanced than its bassier and pitchier counterparts. Although, the Nothing Ear did seem to be a bit more wide in certain genre cases. All three of the earbuds fit tons of different use cases but the Ear 2 is definitely my pick.
I am so glad that I came across this review. Thank you so much for giving an interactive perspective on all the elements of these headphones as opposed to just voicing your opinion and experiences. I was really enamored with the aesthetics and tech and I do like them for listening to music based on this. However, my job depends on headphones for Teams calls and the microphones are incredibly disappointing. You just saved me a decent amount of money on this purchase. I just received the Nothing Ear (2024) and it's amazing. It sounds immensely good once you have done the Sound Personalised EQ test, it basically tests what your hearing frequency ranges are. And based on the results, it will boost those so you're able to hear them. So in case people are wondering about that part of the software, here ya go. Thanks for this video! It helped me decide to go for these buds and so far, I love em ❤ This creates such a great and personalised sound.

First, what a great review. I just purchased the Nothing Ear last night and I wanted to get some educated opinions on it. A+++ to you good sir, fair play. Secondly... was that hamon iberico on the ear buds sensors when you were doing the sound tests? If so... I hope they were delicious!
I have a problem with greed, so I picked them both! I was so excited and loved the bright yellow color so much that I bought them for $140 because the yellow color was unavailable for the $99 sale price. Then I bought the nothing ear (so weird the name confusion - from nothing 2 to nothing) and found it on sale for $80, go figure. This kind of balanced things out, phew... The nothing a don't sound as good, in my opinion, as the nothing 2. I haven't gotten my nothing buds yet. But I do appreciate the LONGER battery life on the nothing a. And the reliability. And the bright sunny color.
Superb review, thanks for that! One question: I do not like how ANC feels on any headphones or earbuds, what I get from this review is, the sound gets worse if I listen to music with ANC turned off? Thanks!
To me, the Ear(a) sounds a bit muffled in the vocals compared to the Ear and also seems to lack some clarity. However, you mentioned it has a brighter and more energetic high-end. Are these both possible?
Yes! There can be an overall shelf boost that makes it clearer or open. The ear A has a boost in a particular frequency range WITHIN the high frequencies that is a more energetic sound.
@@ThisIsTechToday Enjoyed your video with DMS ❤ Ear is definitely slightly more “wired” sounding. Not sure if its just my ear, but airpods pro 2 sounds more open and less fatiguing than Ear, might be easier for longer listening
You know what's fun, - I owned the Ear 2 and just swapped it out for the ear. Absolute love them, - I am having issues with dual connection on Windows PC. -- When I connect to my PC, it causes my spotify to crash, it just hangs and can't "play the music right now" . I can replicate the issue over and over. If I use the "headset" mode, it works, but sounds like a phone call, horrible for music. When I switch to earphone mode, it totally craps out my spotify app 😆 - Spotify on my phone works just fine of course. -- very fun -- love them for my phone connection though
I can listen to all the songs on the Ear(2) at my preferred volume but always have to turn it down for the Ear. Ear(a) is definitely the most muffled. Thank you for the showcase!

I had the MTW2 which died twice. And the MTW3 because the sound is really great. But i didn‘t believe the warnings that they will have still the same issues. 4 Month later my MTW are no longer usable because the right earpiece just died and nothing helps. I will stay away from Sennheiser In Ears like the plague from now on. I consider these new Nothing Ears to replace them
For anyone confused here’s the naming scheme: The Nothing Ear, these are the original Nothing earbuds released multiple years ago (not shown in this video.) The Nothing Ear 2, Nothings second generation of earbuds. The Nothing Ear (2024), Nothings new upgraded re-release of their original Nothing Ear to suit more budget cases. The Nothing Ear(a), Nothings new budget release of a slightly downgraded version of the new 2024 release. If they stick to this, the next flagship release will likely be the Nothing Ear 3. Hope this helps!

Hi, i have a question, do Sony xm5 or nothing ear sound better, because i currently have my airpods pro 2 and i love them but i want a very good sound quality bud so, what do you recommend, thanks!!
I have wf-1000xm5, airpods pro 2, oneplus buds 3, and soundcore liberty 4 NC. Now I bought Nothing ear (a). Nothing's sound quality is the best among these earbuds. Actually it sounds like xm5 but with better bass. More comfy than airpods. One thing i didn't like, ambient sound, i cannot hear my voice well.

I was planning to replace my old airpods pro with the newer airpods pro 2 but then I saw these and got compelled when I learned of the price. After hearing that the ear (a) sounds more subdued and kinda like its underwater compared to the others and that horrendous ANC, I've decided I'll be making too many sacrifices with the ear (a) and so I might as well go all out and go for the airpods pro 2 if I'm shelling out that kinda money anyway.
Look it up.
Am i the only one who thinks that the ear 2 sound better than the new ear?
Yes. Your the only one. Lol
I get what you mean. The Ear 2 sounds more neutral than the Ear(a) and new Ear.
I have both, new ear so much better @@shonen84
No,you are not.
*you're@@ickna2002
Had Ear (2) sold and buy Ear (not 3) the main difference is punchier, snappier bass response and overall more dynamic range. Ear (2) sound good at given price but Ear (not 3) are much more enjoyable specially for rock music.
Do you mean the Ear(a)? The cheaper one?
@@Jeffery99 I think it is short for nothing 3
Thanks for this great comparison. It was definitely needed & much appreciated. I own many earbuds but I’ve yet to own anything from Nothing & highly interested in picking up a pair. Great work like always 💯💪👍
Damn, this is such a great review to know how it actually feels like while wearing instead of the reviewer letting us know how they sound. You have earned a subscriber with this single video. Keep up mate. Cheers
Hey man can you share some custom eq QR. I got them but have no idea how to tune them. Would you please share some eq please?
Wow, I'm just blown away by the quality of your review. And snagged two great songs from it, too.
Well crafted, peak production quality, great perspective
Thumbs up for dedication 👍🏻
I am so glad that I came across this review. Thank you so much for giving an interactive perspective on all the elements of these headphones as opposed to just voicing your opinion and experiences. I was really enamored with the aesthetics and tech and I do like them for listening to music based on this. However, my job depends on headphones for Teams calls and the microphones are incredibly disappointing. You just saved me a decent amount of money on this purchase. I definitely hit subscribe to your channel!
I think the Nothing Ear presents the cleaner all natural sounding quality. I really like that!
It helped me decide to go for these buds and so far, I love em ❤
This creates such a great and personalised sound.
this is amazing profesional qualify content, one of the best earphones reviews I've seen. also nice music picks for the comparison.
Can’t thank you enough for doing this! Answered all of my questions.
I just wanted to thank you for such an amazing detailed review!!!
I am this is the most concise, yet detailed and elaborate review i have seen in a while and the thing is now that the ear(2024) and ear a (2024) is soo closely compared i am even more confused which to buy, well I'll decide with a rolled dice 😄
Ear (2) or Ear (a)? Which should i go for, they have the same price.(Im a regular user)
I'm between the Nothing Ear and the Fiil CC Pro 2, but i can't find anything about Fiil on your chanel :c
Nice detailed video, and i agree, tuning is more important than codecs. +1 sub
Excellent review 👏 i definitely will grab the new nothing ear as soon they arrive my local store 😉
Thanks!
have u tried the improved transperacy mode from the software update(not a deal breaker just didnt see anybody talking abt it)?
How can I know if I'm buying the 2024 or just the nothing ear? On Amazon i can chose between ear(a) and ear.
this is an amazing video.. good job 👍🏻 but after watching this very detailed video, i think the Nothing Ear-2 is the best. btw “i don’t have any”
Needed this 3 hours ago xD
Coming from airpods pro 2. Tried both ear and ear a, totally agree.
lol, I'm on USA time. What do you agree with. the video went live 4 mins ago 👀😝
@@ThisIsTechToday
Enjoyed your video with DMS ❤
Ear is definitely slightly more “wired” sounding. Not sure if its just my ear, but airpods pro 2 sounds more open and less fatiguing than Ear, might be easier for longer listening
they are more expensive as well
Only $50 more.
wow exactly what i needed, right when in needed it, well done!
Thank you!
18:36 which one should i buy if i want most sub bass?
can you please suggest a good eq settings on nothing ear(a). I just got it now. Thanks new subscriber here!
14:30 can you address why there are pieces of bacon on the earbuds during this test?
lol. For the sensors.
Extemely helpful!! Thank you so much for putting so much time into this comparison-I now know exactly which option best fits my listening habits.
@@semerson7 what do you suggest nothing ear or ear (a)
What do you suggest nothing ear or ear(a)
@semerson7
Thank you for for this video and your answers please tell me which one has better sound quality Sennheiser momentum tws4 or Sennheiser ie100 pro wireless thank you
Have you seen my review of the MTW4?
yes I have seen the video so I need to know which has better sound quality Sennheiser ie100 pro wireless or momentum 4 tws thank you
I had the MTW2 which died twice.
Isn't the Nothing ear 3 the same as Nothing ear 2024? look online thats what people are saying, it's getting me confused
@@iasyama1999 Not necessarily, the Nothing Ear (2024) is the third release from Nothing, but is simply an upgraded re-release of their original buds.
Thanks!
Fantastic and fun review, thank you tons 🙌🏼
I am getting ear 2 and ear( a ) at the same price, which one would be the better choice? Really confused.
I think a
@@joydev1131no way. Ear 2 way better sound quality. Ear (a) is the budget version
Ear 2!!
Hi brandon, need a bit of your advice here
Since the price of ear a and and ear 2 are same in my country.
Which you recommend?
My consideration pounts are microphone, anc, sound ( i prefer clear and bright but nice also to have great bass tho as long as its not muffled)
Me listening on Nothing Ear a and curious If shall be hearing any difference or everything will sound exactly the same as Ear a in the video
My biggest hold up with the Nothing ear buds is whether or not they’re worth it if used with an IOS device.
I love the EQ settings but I know you can’t get access to the LDAC settings.
Wondering if the buds still stack up against the industry peers without the LDAC. Would you recommend for an IOS user?
You should seriously watch that video I did with DMS. Stop getting hung up on LDAC. It doesn’t matter.
@@ThisIsTechTodayThat is what I like to hear, I’ll give that video a watch, thanks! Great in-depth review as always. I love the simulated wind set up 🔥
The battery issues with Ear (2) were for me the main reason not upgrade my Ear (1).
The ANC and Transparency modes I think will be ajusted later on by Nothing with software updates, don't you think?
I still have my Ear (1) that as some small defects that till now I put apart but maybe I will try to upgrade it...
Thanks for your good review!
What problem are you facing with you nothing ear 1 ? Since i also have ear 1 so just want to know from you.
Upgrading from the Ear 2 to the Ear, I used the "More bass" simple profile on the Ear 2, but it was too much bass on the Ear for me. - Switched to Balanced, while maintaining the "bass enhanced" feature. Definitely happy with the results, personally prefer the profile more now.
Bro I am getting ear 2 and ear a at same price, which one would be the better choice?
@@PARASMEHER95 Ear has more features for sure, and is supposed to be the successor to the 2 - it sux that you see the same price on places like Amazon - sounds wise, it more customizations than the Ear 2, 👍
Thanks a lot Brandon for making my selection easy. I ended up with (a) as a temporary holdover until AirPods 3 pro is released.
I have lost my AirPods Pro 2, then bought Marshall motif II (which had much better fit for my ears except lack of volume control) and recently lost again!! 😢
I’m surprised at quality of (a)!!! Wow! And I paid only 83USD.
If you’re on a budget or need budget 2nd pair, this is a really good value for quality (I love the yellow version). I find my seal really good during music playback. Not sure how I feel about pinch controls.. I’ll get used to it eventually.
Please your recomendation for work remite meetings and rhe versatility of multi device connection
If the most important thing for me is phone calls
Which one should i choose ?🙏🏻
is it worth it to buy nothing ear (2024) on an iPhone device or just buy an apple product? using a 15 pro max right now and was a previous user of airpods pro 1st gen
Not related to the topic but where did you get that wallpaper from at 18:03?
Thank you for the review awesome job you really answered a lot of questions for me. I think the overall performance of the two new earbuds is very good for the price point. I'm a One+ and JBL guy and i would be very happy with these Nothing buds. In fact I'm going to get the Nothing Ear. Thanks again much appreciated. 💯🔥🔥🇺🇸
Hi, i have a question, do Sony xm5 or nothing ear sound better, because i currently have my airpods pro 2 and i love them but i want a very good sound quality bud so, what do you recommend, thanks!!
Check out the section on what I think about the sound quality. It should answer that for most earbuds you might consider against them.
One thing i didn't like, ambient sound, i cannot hear my voice well.
i'm confused by the line up, can anyone tell me howany earbuds nothing actually has and the line up from the 1st gen to the latest?
Ear 2 sounds much better honestly, I don’t know why they dumped so much bass on the new ones…
Which earbuds would you recommend to use for important work calls in a room with a loud air conditioner and fan blowing directly at me? Thanks! Great video.
Use a wired earphone. The wired mics are better than any wireless earbuds.
Really nice review mate
So are the ear (a) and ear 2024, Sound quality wise the Same.
If you ignore the kodac?
Never seen that type of quality content😮😮
I have the Ear(2)s but i bought the new Ear(A)s because of the battery life, i was always paranoid that the battery life would die on the 2s so 9ish hours is just right for me. Also I like the added bass, nice sound to them!
Is there a drastic difference in the ANC?
Better or worse?
@@aidenbrunovaz7022 it’s the same ANC. The transparency is better with the Ear (A) though, don’t quote me on that.
@@jpoodle I was so confused, in the video there is a huge difference for cafe simulated test.
Thank you for letting me know.
Thanks for review, comrade. If i have nothing ear (1) will I mention the difference in sound quality and noise cancellation with nothing ear (a)?
I definitely think that the Ear (2) and Ear (2024) are a notable improvement, but I'm also an audio engineer and notice a lot more than the average.

so this ones or the apple airbuds pro?
Your opinion of the new 2024 Nothing Ear vs Sony WF-1000xm4s that i currently use? I think these look great and seem to be amazing so thinking of picking them up as another option to use
Better for sound. Not better for ANC.
Great review, I would love to see a more heavy rock or metal song added to the songs tested. ^^
How would you put the nothing ear (a) vs the OnePlus buds 3? Which is a better buy. Which ones fit better in the ear?
OnePlus Buds 3 isn't on my list of earbuds that I'd use more than for the review. It's not that it's bad, but there are way better out there now.
@@ThisIsTechToday thanks for the reply. I have seen a lot of people saying the OnePlus buds 3 was the best earbuds for the $100 range but a lot of those were before the Nothing (a) came out. And I trust your opinion more lol
Thanks!
As an iPhone owner what should I buy, AirPods 2 or nothing ear a? Let me know plssss
iPods. A isn’t as robust.
How about between AirPods Pro 2 and Nothing Ear 2024? Which is better? I’m an iPhone user but mostly use Windows at work.
Sound quality wise I literally cannot tell the difference. Was thinking to get either but looks like I'm sticking with my Ear (2)
The Ear (2) sounds flatter (as I like it) but the Ear has probably more potential of quality with more details but a bit too bright for me. So with a EQ on the Ear, it should be the best in my opinion.
I just bought the ear (a). The main reason for my choice was the smaller carrying case. The upgraded EQ is probably the best reason to get the regular ones, but i know id never be able to hear the difference.
Hey man, I am wondering if I should get them too, can you tell me how you find them
@@resared8538 I really like them. I'm coming from the galaxy pro 2s, and I like the sound and general feel of the nothings. I really like the touch controls of the nothing but it took me 30 minutes and a bunch of frustration to figure out how to get it to work.
Thanks for the review!
Thinking of getting this to make beats on the go since its very portable and ofc mix when i get to the studio. Do you think itll do the job?
I would never mix with earbuds but I’m sure they could make tracking and beats on the go fine. They’re also more balanced than most, but proper studio monitors and room are the best route.
Has the issue of diminishing sound quality without ANC been resolved?
Great and informative video 🔥. I have narrowed down my choice to two earbuds. Which would you say is ranking better overall between the Nothing ear 2024 and Soundcore by Anker Liberty 4
this is the only channel that I've found so far to be so in-depth on the differences between the products so I won't make a the purchase of "well this is the new version so that means I gotta buy this one"
So glad I could help! There are many products that I've reviewed that are the "new" or the "pro" version that are actually worse. People argue with me and say it couldn't be true or doesn't make sense, but it happens a lot.
Merci pour la vidéo, bon travail ! Je ne vois pas quoi rajouter a celui-ci...:)
Best tech review i have ever seen! 10/10
Thank you! Great review
Hi Tech Today, I found it difficult to adjust equalizer of Nothing Ear, can you share your eq settings with us? Thanks a lot! Big heart from Taiwan~
Ear (2) seems like the best choice. They have the nicest, cleanest sound and good base (both Ear and Ear (a) sound quite muddy)
