I still have the original first release with a new battery. It has the circular power jack and the charger still works. The problem is, it has a GSM dual-band radio - we now call it 2G - and, since the 3G masts have all been turned off very recently, the 2G is so congested that has become difficult to make a call. As 2G isn't a data packet system like 4G and 5G but it is time-multiplexed, a 2G mast - today as 25 years ago - can only manage about 30 concomitant phone calls. So it is time to go and buy the 2024 edition with a 4G connection. Thank you for the review! Anthony
My first ever mobile phone, in orange, given to me by a friend about 20 years ago. Sadly, he died of a heart attack a couple of years ago. The phone long since stopped working... but still got it and will never get rid of it. RIP.
Screw this, I want n93i reboot phone. Especially since they do good things sometimes like wi-fi dongle function and minimum 3Mpix camera to record documents. One thing they absolutely need is Bluetooth-in to work as a DAC replacement. 2 channels, preferrably. These days they could do that in 120 grams and under $120.
i'd buy a motorola razr v3 in a heart beat if they did a modern redesign of that, or at least one that is actually in keeping with the original, not a £1500 ridiculous folding screen monstrosity.
This was my very first phone, Nokia 3210. I really miss the days when phones were dirt cheap. I might get one of these just to get a feel of those good old days.
It was not exactly cheap. The price back then was around $130, which corresponds to about $210 today (using a conservative inflation rate). Compare this to the 2024 model, which is offered for around $80.
I remember when the Nokia was very popular and I used to have a few basic phones from Verizon before switching over to Straight Talk (ironically now owned by Verizon) and now I’ve had iPhones as my only smartphones. The very first phone I owned was a LG VX5400 flip phone and I remember being so happy at 11 years old in middle school just getting a phone. The second phone I had was a LG Venus, first touch screen phone I owned and I felt like I advanced so much just from getting a touch screen phone. My third and last basic phone was a Pantech Hotshot, it was a red color and it had just a home button at the bottom like an iPhone and was all touch screen. That phone felt like the closest thing to owning a smartphone but just didn’t have any of the features. It’s really crazy seeing how far phones have advanced.

However, I find these modern so-called Nokia devices really disappointing, and I wish your review covered some of the common daily life scenarios, where unfortunately, the rebooted Nokias show absolutely disastrous lack of quality. Have you actually tried pairing any Bluetooth device and using it with 8210's music player? It works worse than cheap no-label phones from China - disconnects, interrupts the audio... The UI is much worse than my 15 y.o. Nokia Xpress music, in almost any part of the system. I feel the same nostalgia, but before HMD actually makes any effort to make these devices functional - they're not worth your money and the carbon footprint, and should be pushed more by influencers to seriously answer the minimalist niche... which at this point they're using to sell almost unusable nostalgia toys.

The thing that drives me nuts about these Nokia reboots is the camera, it's 2MP! my last dumb phone was a Sony w995 from 2009 and it had an 8MP camera......fifteen years ago! Honestly, a basic 10MP camera should be dirt cheap these days and would add to the functionality of a dumb phone immensely.
Y2k desaster didn't happened because we programmers spent our time from 1997 to 1998, to fix and update every outdated system around the world. Also a bunch of computers, elevators, factories, power plants where turned down on new years eve and back on after midnight to circumvent the issues. So no Y2K appocalypse did not happened. Not because it was a myth, but because we worked hard for it to be as benine as possible. You are welcome.
Nokia Corp. had sold its phone brand. Phones with Nokia logo are no longer affiliated with Nokia Corp. in Finland. This phone basically is a clone made in China installed Chinese low-end chip.
Dang, this phone looks amazing. I had a friend whose business revolved around customizing these phones. Any color case and color lights. They were very reliable phones.
My father has this old model phone. Nokia 66 something. Fortunately, they still sell these because he can't use a smartphone. I remember that my first phone was a 3510i. I was in the 3rd grade then, so I was probably 9-10 years old. I remember when you could download ringtones from some magazines. Or buy it somehow. If someone remembers better how that system worked, please tell me 😁
It's supposed to be a dumb phone, a way to detox from technology, and you want it to be more technologically advanced? 🤦♂️ just buy a normal smartphone
@techspurt --- I bought a Nokia 110 4G (I'm in the USA) on Amazon, when I press the "1" button for my voicemail it dials 911 for the Police, my carrier is Speed Talk (not sure if matters), do you know how I can set speed dials to call the voice-mail number? I can't figure it out.
Does anyone know how long the battery lasts on standby? I think the 3310 claims it can do 30 days (2G), but with this phone they just mention the talk time of 9-ish hours.
This may get used to talk and listen when doing phone calls. How is the audio and reception? Especially on cheap voice/sms only phones this can be quite bad compared to modern smartphones.
Where did you actually get it? I have been looking for where to buy it in the states. I had the original myself and have only used dumbphones since then and NONE of them compare to my old Nokia I loved. I have been trying to find this reboot version but no stores have it yet, that I can tel..

This phone was great back in day, but man I feel old lol
What's the screen refresh rate?
The thing that drives me nuts about these Nokia reboots is the camera, it's 2MP! my last dumb phone was a Sony w995 from 2009 and it had an 8MP camera......fifteen years ago!
Honestly, a basic 10MP camera should be dirt cheap these days and would add to the functionality of a dumb phone immensely.
Nice review! Does the mp3-player read m3u playlists from a pc or Mac when stored on the SD-card together with the corresponding mp3-files?
You still young my friend problaby not even 50 😊
25+17
I wish we could go back to that era.
Photo results quite decent though
Y2k desaster didn't happened because we programmers spent our time from 1997 to 1998, to fix and update every outdated system around the world. Also a bunch of computers, elevators, factories, power plants where turned down on new years eve and back on after midnight to circumvent the issues. So no Y2K appocalypse did not happened. Not because it was a myth, but because we worked hard for it to be as benine as possible. You are welcome.
The only phone made with netherite
Banging review style! Subscribed! 🤣
Nokia Corp. had sold its phone brand.
If someone remembers better how that system worked, please tell me 😁
Order 66 for you!
Great review, straight to the point and a funny personality too 🙂
It would be great for nokia to slap on a wifi on it. At least it could've served as a wifi hotspot.
It's supposed to be a dumb phone, a way to detox from technology, and you want it to be more technologically advanced? 🤦♂️ just buy a normal smartphone
@@memonomoto7419 let's be real, it wouldn't be a detox if there's a UA-cam app built in for watching shorts. Lmao 🤣
I still got my original 3310 from way back then, and it still works. Gadgets made nowadays tend to fall apart after a few months of usage.
How many contacts it can take
Is it available now in any shopping platform?
@techspurt --- I bought a Nokia 110 4G (I'm in the USA) on Amazon, when I press the "1" button for my voicemail it dials 911 for the Police, my carrier is Speed Talk (not sure if matters), do you know how I can set speed dials to call the voice-mail number? I can't figure it out.
It was my first bought phone too. Brings back memories. Used to chat in Facebook with my first love.
I'll wait for the 6210 - I loved that phone 😁
Does anyone know how long the battery lasts on standby? I think the 3310 claims it can do 30 days (2G), but with this phone they just mention the talk time of 9-ish hours.
1:22 omg I felt that words deep 😂
Where can I buy it?
This may get used to talk and listen when doing phone calls. How is the audio and reception? Especially on cheap voice/sms only phones this can be quite bad compared to modern smartphones.
... still our favorite review channel.
Really enjoyed this review. The guy brings fun to phone reviews lol
Sorry if I missed this during the video, but when is this being released in the US?
Love your smacking review! Thank you for this
Where did you actually get it? I have been looking for where to buy it in the states. I had the original myself and have only used dumbphones since then and NONE of them compare to my old Nokia I loved. I have been trying to find this reboot version but no stores have it yet, that I can tel..
It's great to see a mobile of this calibre brought back into play. Honestly, I think we should all have one as a back up at the very least.
Killin’ it mate 🍻 I tune in for the cracks cheers
There's no chance of me using this type of phone again although 310 was my first phone. Time flies...I'll never forget the snake game 😂.
Does this have google mapa, spotify and a camera for QC code reading?
Mate, you proper crack me up
If they had at least added wifi, some app support, a decent camera etc, then I could see some point in this. But now.....I just don't get it.
I still have my original N95 and wouldn’t change it for quids. I don’t get scams or adds, battery lasts over a week and it fits unnoticed in the smallest pocket.
Does the radio buzz with earphones connected? Most phones don't even allow you to use the Radio app without headphones connected because they act as the antenna.
