I think he should go back to focussing on showing people how to get into their first supercar sub-100k, rather than desperately trying to keep up with those he's failed to keep up with. Loads of people constantly buying and selling, and also people whose production quality is extremely high, but at the end of the day, few capture the essence of the cars, and few show people the pursuit and realization of the dream. Instead of pretending that everything's okay, why not be honest with the subscribers? Tell them what went wrong, and bring them along in the pursuit of another entry-level supercar.
The fact dealerships are still allowing you to film, with your current state of the channel is shocking to me

They have been as low as 140k. Currently, from 160k. The front-engine V12s depreciate quite heavily. But they have higher maintenance costs, so you win one way and lose another.

You should buy an affordable super car like an Audi R8 first gen, Porsche 996 Turbo or something. It would be interesting and more realistic.
I think an R8 V10 is a good option for Paul, but I wonder if it would be any good for content, if that really matters. IMO, he should buy something like a 991 Turbo S. They're also realistically priced. Most people will accept such as a supercar, and thus restore some credibility to the channel. And, as Paul loves to think he knows better than the developers with mega-million Euro budgets, such a car is eminently tunable, and will withstand mods of questionable taste more than just about anything else. Also, it's not a typical UA-camr's car even for dedicated Porsche channels. It would even mean that he could ditch the so-called daily driver, as it seems pretty clear that this channel is not earning Paul what it used to.
He's got to do something to restore his cred, and stop relying on his relationship with Saxton 4x4 for content. *Hot hatches of the Home Counties isn't very interesting. Somewhat of a hole in the market would be a channel that explores supercar ownership for less than 100k, like he actually used to do.* He clearly can't keep up with those who are buying and selling new supercars all the time, and there's no shortage of such content. Going around exploring realistically priced options would be a central theme that he could build around. I think he really lost his way when he bought the Nissan GTR. IMO, it's not an aspirational car outside of the Japanese scene. At the time, he could have purchased an NSX for not much more, but of course such is not a car to mod, and it's not on most people's radar.

A Golf is not a supercar by anyone's definition or by any stretch of the imagination, and anyway many people own Golf after Golf after Golf, Cayman after Cayman after Cayman, 911 after 911 after 911, mid-engine Ferrari after mid-engine Ferrari after mid-engine Ferrari, etc, etc, etc.
IMO, Paul has to start again, or fade away. Even another R8 V8 would be better than the nothing he has now, IMO.
But if you read my previous post, you'd see my comment re the R8 was in response to the thread starter's suggestion. I think there are several options, but Paul clearly needs to be looking at more affordable supercars, rather than teasing his audience with cars he obviously can't afford to even finance.
I suggested a 991 Turbo S because in so doing Paul could possibly live without a second car. But you can get a 570S for 80k...
You should get another supercar 💪

Agreed. Pista is amazing and better in many ways. But 765 is lethal fast and so raw. And i think it looks better in the right spec. Idk why the McLaren just gives more of a sense of occasion to me

LOL you couldn't be more wrong. 765LT has *appreciated* by 100%. In the US, 765LT coupe is selling for $600,000 on average 756LT spiders around $800,000.

As long as his head remains in denial, it's unlikely. A 991 Turbo S is probably what he should be looking at, which would also enable him to ditch the Golf. If he really needs something to put lots of miles on get something for less than 10k. But at the end of the day he could also restore his cred with a 60k R8 V10 or an 80k 570S. For 110K, he could get something nearly new, which would lessen the risk of big maintenance bills.

You need a story/project car. Losing the Murci was a bad decision for the channel in my opinion. Sam has the 360. James has projects. Tom has the CGT. Shmee speaks for himself. You and Archie seem lost.

I think his first story of buying his first supercar is still relevant and as he has struggled to mature like several other YTers, maybe he should focus on showing people how to buy their first supercar.
@@nigel.w you make some good points but I’d argue he probably has matured hence putting money into a home. He’s not made of money like some of these for which I’ll always admire how far he’s come. Just seems to have stagnated recently.

I think the Murci cost him more than he could really afford, and that has set him back, and now he's struggling for direction.
I also think a big part of his problem is looking at Shmee, JWW, Sam, etc, rather than forging his own path.
Of course, he did have that idea of becoming a pro drifter, which obviously didn't work out, and anyway was a strange idea for a supposed supercar guy.
Yeah, he's struggling to find the way forward for himself and the channel, and he's certainly stagnating.
There are several other issues hurting him, like Covid and no press launches, and the few that there have been since he hasn't been invited to hardly any, presumably due to the state of his channel, etc.
And then he hurts himself by being brave enough or stupid enough to trash Aston Martin, the one brand that has stuck with him.
I do still think he hasn't matured *as much* as his contemporaries, but it's also clear he hasn't got the finances or family backing to fall back on that so many others clearly have.
Anyway, I like Paul, wish him well, and hope he gets his sh_t together before it's too late. I hate that Sam and Tony are now constantly belittling him. If they were as secure as they claim, they wouldn't do it. It's not funny or cool. And I suspect Paul is listening to the wrong people, which for him I think includes them.
Sam is doing a very good job, he gets more views because of better content and owning supercars, I unsubscribed James.
Yea that Murcielago could've been the highlight car of the channel, akin to Sam's 360. Would've been great for road trips, adventures etc. which would've boosted the content up a notch.

Probably wise to bow out gracefully, you had a good run but this content is shocking, you’re too far behind your peers to catch up.
He clearly used to do okay showing people how to get into their first supercar. As he clearly doesn't want to learn new tricks, maybe he should go back to focussing on what he did reasonably well.
Fact is that McLaren's rep for poor build quality and poor after sales service is a REAL problem. Ferrari has got its sh_t together, has a stronger brand than ever, and then there's the four-year warranty and seven years free servicing.
I get the exclusivity and butterfly doors factors, but your monney is still a lot safer in a mid-engine Ferrari, or an Aventador SVJ. Maybe one day that will change, but that day is not now.
I suspect the buyer for this 765LT will be someone with a collection of high-end cars, who is used to losing money on new cars, and making money on others, and just wants it, despite knowing that it's almost certainly going lose a lot of money, at least in the short-medium term.
Of course, it's possible that as everything new goes hybrid or EV, the market for non-electric will remain strong. I certainly don't see hybrids and EVs as long-term ownership propositions.
Ferrari have been making cars a lot longer than mclaren, anyone can buy a mclaren , but Ferrari you have be in there good book for even bought loads of them the get a special 1 all preference
@@STEVEBHPDEVON Yes, for new builds, but in this case we're talking used. Ferrari dealers will sell any of their used stock (or even their new stock) to the first person who stumps up the money. But if we were talking new, I think we have to ask on what basis McLaren is asking Ferrari prices? If you are a preferential Ferrari customer and can order a 296, I doubt you'd consider this a worthy contender for your money. As always, YMMV.
