Sadly, like most videos of this type, it's harder for those outside the USA credit card system. Eg there's no Amex Hilton card in Canada...

You should try staying in one of the inhabited islands next time, way cheaper (and obviously far less luxurious). It'll be a totally different experience and I'm sure you'll love it!

You will LOVE the Conrad Maldives. We just stayed there last month for my 50th birthday. UNREAL. Trip of a Lifetime! Love the Maldives. The Conrad will treat you well. They have the 7 restaurants with Ithaa...the Underwater Restaurant...do it! We had lunch there. Since I'm a Hilton Diamond member...free breakfast...FREE HAPPY HOUR! Take advantage. We did upgrade to the Premier Overwater Villa...Still drooling over that!

I stayed at Adaaran Club Ranaahli a couple of years ago. We didn't have a water villa, but a room about 10M from the ocean. We paid £1600 per person for 2 weeks. It's close to Male, so a 45 min speedboat transfer. Loved it, but I got food poisoning as ate a Kerolan fish curry and it was obviously off which ruined a week of the holiday, so just avoid fish curries as they only get deliveries once or twice a week. Alternatively, if you want to lose weight, I lost over a stone in a week!!!

I was flying those Twin Otters in the Maldives, best job I ever had.
The nearest I’ll be to an otter is standing on sand no propellers haha🇺🇸🇬🇧🍀✈️👨✈️

I think you need to caveat which countries your credit cards are available from.
You seem to assume the hilton amex is open to everyone when in fact it isn't obtainable in most countries.

I stayed in the Maldives in 1982 on the island of Baros with Kuoni, how the accommodation on offer has changed tremendously, I agree the islands all offer luxurious accommodation but at a price, however, the destination has lost some of the truly magical feel of staying where few travelers used to venture, going somewhere remote and very special . In 1982 desalinated water to wash in only 2 hours day, you went fishing for your lunch evening meal, pineapple for dessert every day taken off the trees , the bulk of the food for guests was kept in a huge freezer ,, the food being delivered by boat from Singapore once every three months, In the reception area they sold bars of chocolate out a small fridge as a luxury lol , I adored the sheer remoteness of the island I visited The Maldives once in 1982 ( 3 days) and once in 1983 ( 14 days) and on each visit there were no more than 5 people staying at any one time, Happy Days, For flight enthusiasts, flights were 2 flight a week from Colombo with Air Lanka , the departing area was a corrugated iron roof shed with one fan to cool the place :>

Well done Dan another great video. It must have been lovely for you and Oscar to stay in such a beautiful, peaceful beach resort rather than visiting another capital city. On one hand, I worry about how ‘green’ a stay in the Maldives is. Every item of food, drink etc etc has to be flown in. On the other hand , if I had the opportunity to go there tomorrow, I would probably be on my way!

vicer84 no I can get a Hilton Honours Credit Card in Australia. I can get the Amex one or one of our local Banks also does one.
@@jenniferhill1882 oh lucky you. We don't have it here. Only gold status if you have Amex platinum card. Which is soooo expensive and everybody is canceling it because of its price.
When buying the points can you just stick it on your new credit card and have it count towards the $2000 you need to spend? Awesome, I've always heard about people who do game the points systems but I've never actually seen an explanation so thank you very much for sharing and sharing your amazing holiday as well!
