I have to say (and I'm sure you already know this), it doesn't matter who gets their videos out first; people come to you because they value your opinion not just as a content creator but as an advocate of this game we all love; others may have got there before you, but it doesn't matter so long as you're pumping out the good stuff! I really appreciate that! I hadn’t really thought of it that way to be honest lol.
I’ll give you a little behind the scenes: last time we had one of these (Rogue) I didn’t get it out til Sunday and it drastically underperformed from the previous one (Gambit) where I was first to market because I happened to be home and available that Thursday morning. So my previous experience had been you get half as many views if you’re late. I also had 2/3’s fewer subscribers back then.
Fast forward to today and the video is still doing exceptionally well and is tracking to do almost as well as Nelson’s and Jason’s, even though it’s Saturday and it’s 2 days late.
I say all that to say I’m so incredibly grateful that so many people have become aware of my channel and have been so kind to tune in. To be clear, it’s not about the views. It’s more that I’m asking people to spend 50 minutes with me, listening to stuff they’ve already heard from the very excellent other content creators, and they seem to be willing to do that. It’s very precious to me, and I wasn’t expecting it.
So thank you for the very kind words! And I’m just so grateful to have such a wonderful community of friends who hang out with me for these videos ☺️

@@GetUpandGamewell thank you for the behind the scenes peek - you're right, I guess there's something to be said for getting your videos out early to avoid irrelevance (not that I could ever accuse you of that), but I think the people who watch you will come straight to you regardless. For some you may be the first creator they watch, others second or third, but like I say, they/we come to you because we want YOUR opinion!
Anyway, it's late in the UK, so I'm off to bed. Thanks for the videos, even if some of them do come out later than you'd like!

As I was watching I realized Domino could have a turn where she uses "Jackpot" to pay for something in Alter-Ego, then uses her AE ability to put "Jackpot" back in her hand and use it to pay for something else, then use "Pip the Pug" to put "Jackpot" on top of her deck. Flip up to Hero form and discard "Jackpot" with one of her discard event cards where it then gets shuffled back into her deck. That's an insane amount of value! Add to that using "Beast" to tutor the card out of her deck and the Leadership side scheme to tutor "Beast" and I think Domino is going to be crazy powerful. I'm certainly looking forward to playing her that's for sure. Great video! Keep up the great content! 👍

The downside is you’re going to be getting extra encounter cards a lot more often than other heroes but who cares lol

I've always thought it was funny that the Heroes in this game can only thwart enemy schemes and beat up enemies. It seemed super weird to me that they didn't have some sort of mission to work towards to defeat villains. Super cool addition to Champions!!
I just started investigating Lord of the Rings LCG and Arkham Horror LCG. Lots of great similarities and differences in those :)
I totally agree! I’m all for anything that adds some more theme and complexity to the game and the player side schemes just seem so awesome. I loved them in LotR and I’m sure I’ll love them here!
And speaking of that that’s really exciting! LotR was my favorite game before this one and I still think very highly of it. I would do content for it if I had the time.
Arkham didn’t hit quite as high for me though I do think it’s a great game. But you’re right that there are many similarities and it’s cool to see how the games all have their own feel though the skeleton is largely the same 😊

Haha yeah it’s so crazy how fast time goes! Feels like we’ve been in X-men forever but at the same time now that it’s almost over it’s flying by. So so excited to see what’s next!

@@GetUpandGame I'm hoping for an Angel to Archangel hero concept. If not, just Arch, as he looks cooler.
And yes, the Apocalypse connection was there, which is why I had guessed the current wave was gonna be X-Force vs Apocalypse. For the next wave, I think it will be X-Men and X-Factor collaborating against Apocalypse.
Play Take Out the Guards early and get it down to 1 or 2 threat left so that it's ready to go in a tough spot or when there are minions engaged with multiple players. I love the potential of some of these side schemes.
Me too!! With it being 0 cost it’s so easy to just drop out there when you get it and then like you say chip away at it when you have extra thwart laying around. And while you’re at it you’ve got a nice place to put a Followed and a Chance Encounter.
I’m really exciting find out with the Aggression one does 🤔

Yeah! Miles v Sinister 6 held me up for a bit ! Plus work. I played lots of Iron Man V Venom and Rocket V Cross bones today. Both very fun matchups. I’m one of those people who still loves playing Iron Man and Rocket grows on me every time I play him. Drew his nemesis and the upgrades were getting tossed onto Cross bones lol
Tremendous video! I’m so hype too, especially for the player side schemes! That call for backup leadship one looks borderline broken, and I’m all for it! I think I’m most excited for Domino. Her “chance” ability seems like it’s going to be a lot of fun

Yeah Call For Backup is nuts. Being able to guarantee you’re going to be able to play a key ally is going to change deck building and be a ton of fun. Really opens up the the opportunity to include some expensive allies you wouldn’t normally use. And it’s especially good for people like Adam Warlock and cyclops who can fully take advantage of it
You and me both brother! Domino is definitely my new “most anticipated hero ever”. Her gameplay is gonna be killer, and I forgot to even mention how much I love having the 3 DEF for awesome protection builds. This game never fails to impress me
@@GetUpandGame I think you mentioned using call for back up with Nick fury. Can you imagine, putting call for back up out, playing Nick like normal, chumpin with him, and on the next turn BRINGING HIM BACK with call for back up!? Insanity.
I’m so excited to deck build for domino and to see how many wild resources I can fit in one deck haha
@@marvelchampionsxp it’s gonna be so ridiculous lol. Cable is gonna draw through his deck so fast with all that card draw, and you’re gonna be able to fill up the victory display with side schemes lightning quick. It’s a good thing they made a limit for how many player side schemes can be in play at a time. That’s going to make it at least a little harder to get boosted crazy fast
Haha yes! We said we were going to do that with Nova and then it didn’t end up being necessary, but I really do think for her you’re going to want Power Of’s and the extra cool resource cards. I CANT WAIT

Mission planning seems situational to me, but I was thinking if you pick some of those allies that have 2 or more consequential damage that maybe there could be an interesting deck to try out. I don't see it being very good in the Cable deck though.
Agreed. Maybe in a higher player count game where you have time to get those bigger allies out and keep them out it might be worth it. Cable has other things to worry about though lol
Do you think we could get (in the expansion box or individual hero packs) side schemes for specific heroes? The first thing I thought about was boosting some of the older fan-favourite characters that lag behind power-level wise - Hulk, Spider-Man and Thor come to mind.
I can definitely see that at some point! Maybe not for specific heroes, but certainly for traits like Asgard or Gamma.
The only problem is they’re likely only going to release a card like that with a hero that can make use of it so until we see another Asgard or Gamma hero I don’t imagine we’ll be getting those unfortunately. Since the game is designed to be so “buy whatever you want” they don’t seem to put cards in packs that can’t be used in that pack because they don’t know that you’ve bought any other heroes that could use those cards 😕
@@GetUpandGame Couldn't they technically "cheat" by creating a hero side scheme that upon completion gives "treat your hero text box (not traits) as if it was blank, +1 THW, +1 hand size"? It's "usable" by everyone, but actually usable mostly for Hulk since he's the only one with detrimental ability.
I'm just spitballing here, because I don't know how it was done with the LotR LCG.
@@misterpreposterous5771 they certainly could do that and I’d love to see it lol. Or maybe kinda like with what they did with the Limitless Stamina/Unshakable 14hp cards where it addressed a general issue (heroes having low hand sizes/being very vulnerable to stun) and solved it. Using a side scheme to ignore a card text in play or something
I’ll say in LotR they were a little more generally useful, but that’s also a pretty different game in a lot of ways so I can easily see them going in different directions, and also expanding on the mechanism
@@GetUpandGame I think the isse with "14 HP required or more" cards was that they were too general and some very decent characters benefited from that as well, so the designers didn't want to make these cards too powerful. I'd really like to see something basically tailor-made for Hulk (and maybe some others), but I'll appreciate any attempts at making the weaker heroes more viable.
By the way, I'm also looking forward to Domino more than to Cable, despite being in the same position as you, where I'm familiar with Cable, but know next to nothing about Domino. :D

Yeah, I think the acceleration tokens kinda spooked everyone at first, but after the initial shock we all kinda realized it won’t be that big of a deal. And it won’t be anything compared to his just revealed Hero version 😅
Has Nightcrawler actually ever been on X-Force?
I know an alternate version of Nightcrawler was in Remender’s run, but that wasn’t actually Nightcrawler. Our Nightcrawler was dead at the time. Is there another storyline I’m forgetting?

What is with the mulivers Saga?
That’s a great question. I had full intentions of diving headlong into it right after the announcement and then I got sick in a way that really sapped my energy for quite a little while. I was able to do some videos but playthroughs are a lot more work so I was waiting to start feeling better.
And then I got consumed with the idea of the Perfect Matchups and that took up my focus until I got that done. Thankfully all that’s behind me now so I’m ready to start it back up soon!

I'd be shocked if Domino doesn't get an encounter card cancel of some form, it would both be thematic and counter the rate she goes through her deck.
We don't have a defensive card for either hero.

That’s another really good point about the defense cards. Those are often my favorite cards for the hero so now I’m really curious what they might look like 🤔🤔
If they stay on point with everything else then probably something to the effect of: prevent x damage = side schemes in VIctory display/card flip count resources

I'm still not sold on this box. Think of all the non-Xmen fans. Some People like me who don't care much for Xmen. All be it in a similar but different style/package. Up to this point I think we have had a bit more diversity in the core box themes. Why not do something big with Asguard or Inhumens just to name an example. They could do more with some of the unused or ignored Traits like gamma. Not for me so, I hope for a cool spin off scenario pack to run my set through, Just like we got with Mojo Mania.
Yeah I hear you. Unfortunately for this particular situation they didn’t have a choice. Due to licensing agreements they were required to do a huge block of X-men stuff all together. They aren’t allowed to mix X-men with Avengers in any way either. Not exactly sure why it is that way but I know that’s why we got this and we’ll be getting one more mutant themed wave after this one as well.
So it’s definitely a bummer for people who might love Marvel but don’t maybe care about the mutant side as much. For me I’m a pretty sizable X-men fan, but I was disappointed initially when I found out there would be 3 waves all at once because I desperately want to see Daredevil sooner rather than later. And it’s still gonna be awhile 😕
@@GetUpandGame Well knowing that I wonder why they did not make the same game but as a new starter set for 2 players. Also could have done a spin off game instead and really mixed up the rules.

For the longest time I was hoping when they introduced the X-men side of things it would be in a second line of the game with its own core set and separate release schedule. Kind of like how the LotR Lcg had the saga expansions running alongside the main line expansions.
I think the FFG of 10 years ago might have done just that. But they’ve been severely downsized in the last few years so I don’t think they could manage that level of production these days, even if they wanted to
