I'm a superfan of Marion's channel. I have gone from 10% to now 90% of the time cooking at home (and actually enjoying it!)
To those who are fans or to be fans, here are my top 10 Marionisms/tips&tricks :) (straight from memory) - Enjoy!
    1) And there you go guys... my very best (insert recipe name)
    2) (after trying food)... Hmph - that flavour is so complex/intense, you've got that ....(starts describing flavour)
    3) Now i'm using chinese xioshing wine but if you don't want alcohol in it you could use apple juice instead, or leave it out completely
    4) (after putting something into the wok) let those ingredients make good friends in there。。。。。
    5) (after grinding stuff in the mortar) this is the type of situation/texture I'm looking for.....
6)Here i'm using Szechuan peppercorns, you can usually find it in your asian grocer, but if you can't.... laughs.. you should really try to get it!
    7) (after cooking noodle) - All I need is the this bowl of noodle and a comfy couch and I'm all set for the evening
    8) Now it's time to make our simple stir fry sauce.. some fish sauce, oyster sauce, dark soy sauce for the colour, and a little bit of sugar
    9) Once you add the minced pork you want to make sure you spread it out in the wok, so you get some nice charring
    10) Now I've got some store bought chicken stock, no need to get all fine dining ......
Bonus: You guys all know I'm a legs and thighs girl!!!!! (when referring to fav parts of the chicken)
Super bonus: You guys all know me by now I love things uber spicy
Hope the above put a smile on people's faces!! Stay Safe! Happy cooking!

Hi, Marion - I made this soup for the second time, yesterday, and it turned out fantastic! The first time I made it I used a large piece of pork loin that I had on hand, and it didn't really have enough fat marbling, so I came away a bit disappointed that the meat wasn't more tender. Yesterday I used a more marbled cut (we call them boneless country-style ribs in the U.S.) and the finished soup was to-die-for! This one will definitely be going into my winter meals rotation. Thank you for all you do for us, and please keep the easy recipes coming! 😘

watching this video now, who would've thought that Ms. Marion was a contestant from Masterchef Australia season 2??!!! i didn't know. since there was no US version this year, i thought i'd check out the Australian version. and who did i see as a 27 year old there! hahaha... funny that i found your channel just randomly on youtube and started watching and following. Now, looking back at you as contestant.. wow... time flies...
what a huge difference the Aussie version is from the US one. and each of the contestants have gone leaps and bounds now after 10 years. so weird switching back and forth and looking at 10 year version to the current one and checkout what everyone is doing. haha...
but back on this video. i love soups, particularly now since it's rainy here in Manila. a bowl of soup just gives you that extra punch to keep moving forward with the week. thank you for constantly sharing your ideas and recipes with us.
by the way, COLES now has more meaning to me as i continue to watch the show... hahaha.
more success to you , health and wealth to your loved ones and family and more episodes on your channel.

Fantastic! I might do this on my next day off. Funny story; I used to live in an apartment above a lady from Thailand. Her name was Pai Pan. She cooked like a fiend, and I learned so much from her. One day, I was going to an Asian grocery way over in Homestead FL (I live in Naples FL, approx 130 miles away), near the former Air Force Base. I had a big list, and one unfamiliar item she told me was bai magrut. Only thing, she pronounced it "buy magloot". Okay, I need to buy magloot. No, she said, buy magloot! We went back and forth a few times and finally I figured the store clerk would know what she meant. I got there and read the item to her, and she said, "do you mean bai magrut?" That must have been it. And I didn't know that Pai had a speach impediment with her Rs. Oh, my.....So, everything worked out, I got home with a load of wonderful things and I just treasure that memory. Pai died a few years ago, and I really miss her.

Made this today. I’m full after 3 helpings. I used chicken breast as thats all I had in covid storage... made my own crunchy onions... which I couldn’t stop eating as I made them... I was lucky to have all the other ingredients at home. Used a dried Persian lime... soooooo good! Thanks for the inspiration!

Not only that you represents thai food beautifully but all the asian and fusion dishes that you made also something that I admired. You should be proud of yourself. This was absolutely amazing. My daughter and I just loved how the pork was so tender. I believe the kaffir leaves really added to the flavour, thankfully we have a wonderful family owned Asian grocer close by and she kept some leaves aside for me. My neighbor has a restaurant which made from bamboo and hay and everyday at 3am, they would wake up and start to make this soup and other dishes and i’d just automatically wake up at 3am to go help them around and we would just hanging out and laughing and all the happy memories. Those in Australia can add ready-fried crispy noodles to mimic the crunchy fried noodle topping. Just a small 100g packet ready to use and that saves all the hassle of deep frying noodles separately etc.
PS: they're in the same supermarket where you get Marion's Kitchen products.

Marion, you should try a Breville fast slow pro. It’s a pressure cooker, slow cooker and steamer all in one. It’s bonus is you can use it to sauté or brown the meat all in the the same bowl, keeping all the flavour that is in/stuck to the bottom. Also less cleaning up 👍🏻. I am an avid fan 💜. So...I just got Prime Video and looking around on what to see, my love for Top Chef urged me towards another competitive cooking show so I settled on Masterchef, looked around the forums on which incarnation and the best season to watch and people are recommending second season Australia. I put the first episode in the background while I'm playing with my phone. Then I heard a voice, hmmm sounds familiar. Saw the face but still didn't register. I was thinking and thinking about who the person reminds me of, I just know its someone I know who I love and am fond of. Then I heard the host said her name. Holy shite it's Marion from that cooking show I always watch. So now I just finished the episode where she's competing with a celebrity chef and she did so, so well ♥️

Made this noodle soup dish for dinner. I swapped the red curry paste for yellow masaman curry paste. Since I don't know how spicy the red or the green equivalent is. Also did it in a stove top pressure cooker. Cooked for 1 hour and 20 minutes, the pork turned out beyond fork tender. Will definitely make again! Is anyone able to answer out of the thai curry pastes red and green which is spicier? I know that yellow thai curry paste is on the mild side, which is okay for my wife and I.

    • @ributsuria
      @ributsuria 3 роки тому +2

Usually the red thai curry paste is hottest and spiciest of the three Thai curry pastes. The yellow curry is much milder due to addition of turmeric, generic curry powder pounded with coriander seeds, cumin, lemongrass, galangal or ginger, garlic, and yellow or red chili. The green curry is more herby-tasting due to the addition of fresh coriander (cilantro), makrut lime leaf and peel, and basil combined with fresh green chilies, lemongrass, fish sauce, garlic, ginger, and shallots. The red curry has substantial red chilies to give it that red color and make it spicy. Sometimes chilli powder or commercial tomato sauce/puree is added instead.

Hi, Marion! This looks divine 😍 can I follow the recipe but using a regular pot? We don’t have a slow cooker but I would really love to make this 😍

Oooh I can't wait to try this! Khao Soi is one of my favorite Thai dishes and I LOVE your shortcuts. Can this be cooked in the Instant Pot? I got rid of my slow cooker thinking it was the same as the instant pot. :(

My dear, Do you think its fair to watch this by midnight ( my time) in bed before sleeping !??? )))))), loved the look of your jeans jacket, and loved more the sound of you eating the noodles, as you say always, Ohh, ))))).Love to you from Cairo,

I was so impressed by the texture of this pork that I have just ordered a slow cooker pot to make this recipe 😁 However I do miss some real veggies in this recipe...but with lime, some onion and cilantro sprinkled on top at the end, this soup should provide enough vitamins 👍😌 Thank you, dear Marion (and you are very welcome to post more slow cooker pot videos, that would be great!) 🙋🏻‍♀️ Love from Germany 💛

Its probably not traditional, but I think some baby bok choy or bamboo shoots would give you some freshness and veggie texture.

Everytime I had this noodles I always put Thai pickled cabbage on top and add more hot chilli oil. Awww it hard to find one around my area even I live in Thailand.
