For anyone that used the AVCHD format and couldn't find your video files, I hope this helps. Under the `PRIVATE` folder there's a file that is just `AVCHD`, copy that to your computer, Pictures, Movies, etc... If you double click it (on Mac) Quicktime will open up and all the files are there...

Idk if it's a Windows 7 problem or not, but I don't even have a "Video" section in the details of these particular files for some reason. AVCHD videos show everything. I guess I'll have to take their word if the videos are indeed 50 mbps 😂😂👌 Thanks for the video!

Look in all folders on the memory card, depending on the codec used on the camera videos are placed to different paths. You can try a file manager called Total Commander which has a function to open all folders and show only the files inside them ► ua-cam.com/video/y2Xe95kQkS4/v-deo.html

Yes, after I move the photos/videos from the card onto the PC, I always delete all the folders from the memory card and than start the camera and it will re-create the "database". Other cameras do this re-creation automatically without any user intervention, but this camera is always displaying a message first.
You just have to enable the camera and the computer to recognize each other and eventually you will stumble across the software recognition features and then your videos show up!!

Move all your photos/videos to your hard drive and than you can delete all of those files/folders from the memory card of the A6300, but the camera first will complain about the missing database and than it will recreate it. (other cameras don't complain anything, just silently re-create the folders).
The camera creates around 70 MB of data on the memory card, and that is called "empty", without those files the camera is always complaining. There are also thumbnails of both photos and videos, delete those also.
It would have been great if the developer had added video capture features so that people can play the videos they record and so that the video files are not corrupted and then destroyed upon saving.

Open all subfolders, maybe you used another codec and those videos are stored at a different path. If you use Total Commander you can press control+B (branch view) to show all the files and in all the folders on a drive ► ua-cam.com/video/y2Xe95kQkS4/v-deo.html

Have just purchased a a6400 and need to transfer, an almost full, 128 gb sd card of pictures to my Windows 10 computer. Unlike many other people, don't always transfer the images to my mobile/cell phone, despite it having heaps of space. My preference is to transfer the images directly to my computer keep what I want and junk the others and send the keepers to a large G drive I have set up. Given that to me, it would just be easier to transfer the images directly from the a6400 to the computer, are you able to set out the steps? There have probably been a number of YT videos, probably several years' old, explaining this common task. If you are able, could you please just save your time and send me some links to the videos? Thanks in advance.

Ah, I found them! PRIVATE/AVCHD/BDMV/STREAM! Theyre not MP4s they're MTS.
Video are stored in these folders:
- PRIVATE\M4ROOT\CLIP
- PRIVATE\AVCHD\BDMV\STREAM (XAVC-S videos)
- MP_ROOT

why is it when i upload it on youtube it just shows up for 240p and 340p format? not the full resolution.
Just wait a few minutes until youtube processes the video, and if it was uploaded in 1080p than it should be later visible as 1080p.
