7:30 you beautiful beautiful man! You have just saved me THOUSANDS of pounds, I bought a house where the heating didn't work but hot water did, we were prepping the house this week to have all of the flooring up as NONE of the radiators worked. Gave the main distribution manifold a tap with a hammer and BOOM heat!!
Got the very same problem Front room and kitchen rad. Plastic pipe was used by a Cowboy who cut a few corners, teed off one rad into the conservatory ( now repaired) left live wire exposed and incorrectly wired thermostat on my immersion heater cylinder so my central heating at times failed to turn off. Also the pump ran constantly which he said was correct.. anyway the front room rad was re piped with copper and it’s red hot. Unfortunately the kitchen rad is now only warm I was advised when I had the rad done in copper that plastic pipe has been known to break down and cause blockages . Thibk now it’s time to have it re piped with copper too
I am having this exact issue with a rad that is furthest from the boiler and on the lower floor. I’ve done everything in this video except the power flush. That’s next
Hi Mark, we've got a 1400mm x 450mm radiator in our front room that struggles to get up to temp. It's got a bit of a colder spot in the middle which i think is sludge build up and so I'll eventually flush it out to fix. My question is that the radiator is fed by a very thin 10mm pipe (the only one in the house that is) and i wanted to ask if an inlet and outlet of that size would be struggling to feed a rad this big?
Mark, None of my downstairs radiators heat up. System flushed with sludge remover, still no good. If I close all radiators but 1, the 1 will heat up. But not all together. Being advised it could be piping issue. Be good to hear your thoughts?
