Thanks for great detailed easy to follow instructions. My husband was able to install new radiator for first time at age 70!
As a newly qualified plumber I'm finding your videos fantastic to pick up tips. Thank you for the hard work and clear delivery.👏👍
Really easy to follow video - used this weekend to replace three radiators and all done successfully - thanks a lot!
I follow from beginning to end to replace a radiator and valve today. Fantastic tutorial if any one wants to replace old radiator and valve. Nothing goes wrong if you follow from the beginning. Thank you for this video Mark.
Fantastic clear and helpful instruction - I just replaced a leaking rad today and saved myself a few quid. I’ve stuck a tenner in your PayPal as a note of thanks. Great work - I’ll be converting a bathroom rad into a towel rail next!!
Mark, great video, I have struggled in the past with hanging a new radiator and changing the brackets, I followed your instruction and not a problem this time. Also great tip on the decorators cap. I really appreciate you taking the time to make the video.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us Mark.
You've given me the confidence to replace a couple of radiators in my house.
Thanks very much.
Mark, fantastic video!! Managed to change my first radiator ever which I would have never done it without your clear direction...thank you very much
Hi Mark
The way you explained all the steps of installing this radiator was fantastic.
Thank you very much for your very detailed explanation.
First class video with excellent simple instructions. It was so easy to follow with some great tips along the way. You cover every detail which gives any DIYer the confidence to do it.
Really helpful! I have just isolated and replaced a radiator that has been bugging me for years. Thanks Mark
This is a thorough and detailed instruction in how to change a radiator, covering every detail of the process. Thank you.
Excellent video, thank you. Learnt a lot. I can now fit my two radiators with confidence.!
A thorough and well presented how to video. Have recently installed two new radiators using your method for measuring and marking the wall brackets and fitting the radiator necks. Many thanks.
Wow Mark, first class instruction gave me the confidence to replace an old rad, lock-shield and TRV. Everything that I experienced along the way had been expertly covered by your tutorial and so I was able to address and complete everything as it presented. I had recently over clad a plasterboard wall so the distance from wall to valve was changed, so when refitting the new rad I had already expected the difference and planned accordingly. Super Super stuff, Thanks. Now considering a flush for my other radiators as I've had issues with blocked heat exchanger on my combi.
Just about to see how this all works. I’m about to replace a rad in a new shower room, amongst other bits.
Just finished watching your video best ever great tips. And gave me loads of confidence to March on lol
Pure genius, you remind me of my College lecturer Steven Murray, he also paid excellent attention to detail.
First class explanation. No waffle. Many thanks. Gives me confidence to tackle replacing a radiator and replacing TRV, olives etc without having to drain system having watched all your other videos.
After watching this video several times I took the plunge and changed an old single panel radiator in the bedroom, no leaks so far, all seems OK 😀
Great instructions, thanks for breaking it down and explaining so clearly 👍
Fantastic video, incredibly detailed but you made everything very clear. Thank you.
Thank you so much for such an informative video. Managed to change a leaking radiator myself without drainage down the system. Saved me a lot of time and money
Excellent video. Thanks for sharing Mark. Replaced my first radiator without having to call for help, just watched this video about a dozen times in slow time and it did the job. One thing I did learn though was to watch it right through a few times before starting a section😁. Thanks again
Hey men, you are great, i learned from you new technique because other plumbers have not explained the way you did. Respect.
Greeting from ALBANIA 🇦🇱
That was an excellent lesson Mark, fantastic detail on how to do the job. Many thanks
The perfect you tube ‘how to’ video. Very helpful. Thanks for making it.
Thanks for this, I replaced a radiator a couple of days ago and had the confidence to do another 2 yesterday.
Nice one, followed it to your method and I changed the bathroom rad .Subscribed now thanks.
Absolutely brilliant followed, not a plumber, got stuck half way as Olive would not release. Looked up your video on 5 ways to remove and boom. Replaced 30 year old radiator with brand new one, heat blasting out. Using trv extensions dead easy. Thank you so much. awesome!!

just bought two rads too replace the heat only 1974 rads and parts and going to use this guide as its the most methodical one I've seen, your the tommy ball of plumbers , edit I've just fit my first rad replacing the old round top type even after the system was flushed black still come out on left side but not right , serious rust there , helped me allot this guide got another to change but i think its best too replace the other two also so upstairs are all done
That was an excellent video, fella.
Very, very helpful.
Some great tips in there.
Very useful, just what I needed.
Super video Mark, very useful and im sure will be a great help when I change our Rads n Valves in the new year 👍
brilliant thanks plumbers are so expensive and they hard to egt round to give quotes. thank you for your videos very informative
Watching this so I can help my grandma replace a radiator
thank you; very professional and helpful. best wishes
First vid I've found that actually shows a combi system depressurised! I've changed a radiator and valves in my house before but on a gravity system, got 2 rads and valves to do at my mums which is pressurised and wondered what will happen once the valves are disconnected from the pipes- ie do they constantly weep and is it a frantic race against time lol. It's 8mm microbore too so have bit the bullet and bought the Monument olive cutter pliers as these crappy pipes won't be as robust as 15mm for pliers or hacksaw. Very thorough video... I'm definitely a convert to using jointing paste on compression fittings now too!
Excellent video, worth watching.
Great help I had a radiator to replace today , vacuum process worked great !! Thanks for all the tips really helped me out :-)

Excellent Video
You are a legend. Thank you
great video .. good man .
Thank you .
Top job.
Thank you for this video, very useful indeed and full of great tips. I have a couple of questions: 1. for an open-vented system would closing off all the other radiators in the system improve the chances of getting and keeping a vacuum? 2. unless I missed it, I didn't hear you suggest we add inhibitor to the radiator when filling the new radiator for the first time. Is there a reason for this? I was planning to add some based on your "add inhibitor" video. Many thanks, Mike
Thank you Mark so very much. Just changed my first radiator. Without you instruction I would NEVER have tried. OUTSTANDING
Great video, I have replaced a rad before but some years ago and this is a good reminder of correct procedures.
Only thing is, the pipe centres on the new rad I'm looking at buying are 50mm from wall and on the old they are 70mm, so am wondering how to get around this, am hoping the existing pipes will push back .. but 20mm is a lot to move back..
First time I ever put a video to play SLOWER. The man is a proper motor mouth! Great skill though, everything went as he was saying.
Very well explained. Should call it "Replace a Radiator for Dummies"
Cracking video pal
I'm wondering why there 121 downvotes.
I've watched a more than a few videos and this (and Marks other videos!) are hands down the easiest understand and apply for a simple DIY'er like myself.
Do they not like the colour of his shirt or some other irrelevant reason? LOL
You are the best man I can understand every thing you say.
Thank you Mark, a very helpful video. One comment; I don't know what you mean when you mentioned "top up" the combi boiler. Thanks.
14mins , cheers :D . "is this rubber something modern or just to protect it???" and 'what are these weird bungs' :)
top video
Your instructions are superb. Many thanks.
A couple of questions if I may.
1. Do I have to change the olives if I'm installing new valves?
2. If I replace more than one radiator. Do I refill each radiator individually or reopen the valves on all (I've replaced four in a bungalow) and refill.
Good video, and info about bracket position. One thing is, my pipes are approx 70mm from the wall and the new brackets set the radiator tail centres of the new rad at 50mm. I'm hoping I can turn the bracket around so would bring the rad out more from the wall but 20mm is a lot to lose.
I can't use the old brackets as they are the clamp type which are unsuitable for the type 11 convector with grills.. 🤔
Great video - couple of questions: 1)How much inhibitor should you add if you just replace one small radiator? 2)The Kudux radiator instructions from screw fix suggest the whole system needs flushing before adding protector as they call it - Is this really necessary if you know your system is in good condition or are they just protecting themselves? 3)If you add inhibitor is there any risk in mixing issues between different manufacturers when you have no idea what inhibitor was previous used - or do you just know that there is no risk of that especially with the one shown in the video?
Hi Mark great video really helpful! I've changed my radiator and everything is working fine now, except I've got a tank system and now my overflow tank in the loft is leaking the ball valve i seems foine in both the small and large tank any idea what's causing this issue, I can seem to find anyone having this issue after a radiator change in any forums?
I prefer to use an RTV sealant on threads going into radiator, because the radiator tails are chrome plated and the threads in the radiator are normally quite rough, so the rough metal just peels the PTFE tape off, where the RTV will still stay in place and cure - once had to unscrew 14 radiator fittings that I used PTFE tape on, they were all leaking and the tape had been scraped off. Replaced with RTV silicone and no more leaks ( the RTV is cured by moisture so cures very quickly ) - for threaded connections that seal on the tread Loctite 55 PTFE + nylon cord forms an instant pressure tight seal, had to use it on a thermostat housing into a pressurised hot water cylinder system that had been dripping for a while, it sealed instantly and I could pressurise system straight away.
