I asked the same question myself and decided not to get Whoop because I don't see enough added insights compared to what I get from Athlytic (and soon Superset) to justify the price increase. All I need is a coach to provide some sort of insights into my life choices and set the direction I should be heading. The rest is completely up to me. Athlytic already gives me the insight need and that for 30€ per year. Superset, a new player, could be an Athletic replacement if it keeps its promises, and for early adopters, it will cost only 10€ for a lifetime. In your case, I have a feeling that, since you don't have many choices, you will get whoop and see progress in your life with the choices you make through the insights from Whoop. It might be so good that you wouldn't give it up and would be hooked with the subscription, especially since there is no other similar option in the Android world, unfortunately.
the whoop seems to have so much data and metrics it is a shame the app and device is marketed just to athletes. so many of us would love to use this to help become healthier in general, general wellness. im older and am not athletic, i was going to get an oura ring, but the whoop seems to have more data. also i like the idea that you wear the device 24/7. ive owned so many devices in past and once i take it off the pattern of using it get broken. i bought a whoop and im excited just wished the app didnt make me feel bad for not being athletic.. great video, Thank You
Hi Shermin! Super useful and detailed intro to the whoop, thanks for the complete guide. I have a question about what data you choose to write from Whoop to Apple health. Why write Blood Oxygen, Heart Rate, Respiratory rate, Resting Heart Rate and Sleep when you already have the Apple Watch writing this data? What are the implications have having both devices write to those categories?
I'm watching this vid despite being a longtime Whoop wearer. I'm at Level 23. Don't look at my stats in the team today Shervin... lol. they're horrid after thanksgiving festivities!
Hi Shervin, have you noticed that whoop can't detect quick heart rate spikes ? When wearing an Apple Watch simultaneously, Whoop misses the initial spikes during each weight training set. I know my body well and at the end of a set Whoop will show my heart rate at a flat 110 BPM, while Apple recognizes the quick spike to 160 BPM
I went to pair as per instructions on app & it worked. Then it told me to sign in, so I did. Then, it told me to pair- which I did already? Well, it refused to pair now while signed in. I unpaired it from my phone, restarted phone, opened app, signed in, & tried to pair. No blue light. Not working, can't pair. Googling this issue seems incredibly common. Welp. Now what? Return? Wait 3 days for battery to die? Contact support? This is incredibly frustrating. Edit: Followed help instructions, now getting "failed to connect" on repeat.. Uninstalled the Whoop app, re-installed, finally connected. Now getting the error "new strap required" Re-starting the app & logged in fixed the issue. Did firmware update & Whoop disconnected. Back to problem #1! Ahhhh
The Whoop 4.0 is expensive monthly In Australia especially the 24 month & annual price Are priced insanely high in Australia- that’s the only reason why I’d probably not get one .
I heard can get the first 12 months paid for including the original price.. can try it for a year and if you don't like it, can then not continue subscription
@@MaverickLee11 I’d doubt Australian customers would be able to get that, as it’s so expensive here 24 month membership is $600AUD+ Annual membership is $380AUD Monthly is $45AUD. Rather spend money on an Apple Watch Ultra
Hey Shervin, great Video, decided to get a whoop mainly because of your videos at the beginning of the year and still wear and use it 24/7 intensively. But I’m always getting tired quickly of the formfactor of hardware things :). How do you see the chance that whoop releases a whoop 5.0 in 2024? And do you think the accessories will still work together with it? Ps: saw that you’ve been visiting the whoop headquarters. A video about that would be super nice :) ! Take care, greetings from Germany!
I have just found the best video on the internet, thanks Shervin! I am struggling choosing the right tracker for me so long, but now it's getting clear and I am gonna get a cool Whoop 4. Thanks for helping me/us.
The only fundamental flaw with this product is it's subscription. It's extremely pricy to get one thing only: access to the data it's already ingesting. Ultimately, it's a matter of time until Apple buys a company that does something similar and includes it in Health and it's game, set, match. I just can't justify the price of a whoop's subscription, particularly when an Apple Watch lasts years.
I now have oura ring for the past 6 months. I like it for the accurate sleep tracking and battery life. But i’m getting tired of manually logging every workout I do and deciding if my intensity was (easy - moderate- hard). Especially while lifting weights I have to take it off. Now if I get whoop will it track my activity accurately enough without me needing to log every activity and the intensity of it? Is whoop better at that aspect?
many people say that the oura ring was more accurate than the whoop but they opt for the whoop because the oura ring scratches when lifting things such as weights/metals etc
Whoooaaa, not quite a beginner's guide! You assume at the beginning of the video that we already know the basic beginner stuff - which I don't. I have no idea how to open it, charge it, etc. I'd appreciate another video that covers the first time use. Also, you do speak really quickly! But I'll come back and check this out after I find out the basics. 👍
Great video! Would like to know if woop 4.0 is accurate with woop body clothes like shirt, shorts for night sleep. I did hear a lot on reddit accuracy is pretty bad.
I am trying to understand, why would you buy a whoop having an AppleWatch Ultra? Knowing also that Applewatch’s HR sensor is way more accurate. I don’t see any differences in tracking but perhaps I missed something
This what their website used to say. So things might have changed without them stating it directly maybe? “We recommend wearing the strap with correct tightness (but comfortable) on the non-dominant hand, and at least two fingers-width above the wrist bone, which helps improve data quality. “

Hey Shervin, could you share the (amazon preferrably) link of the smart scale you use? I've looked and had trouble finding one that seems legit and can also write the data to apple health. Very much appreciated!!!
Whoop’s own team doesn’t say there is a “right” direction to wear the sensor as long as it’s consistent. Is there a reason you’re stressing logo towards you other than it being the way you prefer?
HELP ME! Hey Shervin, does whoop stay in place in your bicep when you flex your bicep? I have skinny arms but when I flex my bicep, the muscle kind of balls up and I'm having a hard time getting the whoop to the right tightness. If it is just right when my arm is relaxed, then it gets too tight the moment I tighten my bicep and vice versa. I would prefer the bicep strap for the better accuracy but I find it too uncomfortable.
