Preach! We are not taught enough about vitamins. I work nights and I don't get enough sunlight so I take vitamins and especially D3k2! Life changer! Thanks
Excellent roundup of relevant Vitamin D information. Solid science, easy to understand. So necessary to surround D with its buddies: magnesium, K2, vitamin A. I toss in a once a week boron and strontium pill to top off the program.
I take vitamin D3 with K2 in a coconut oil capsule. About 7 years ago, I got extremely ill from vitamin D defficiency. I couldn't work, I couldn't sleep, had no energy, no muscle strength, and was like a total zombie. It was horrific! I am so grateful I finally figured it out. what about using a full spectrum lamp? I've read that they can help people fight off winter depression, so I wonder if they can help in areas where the sunlight is not strong.
Taking 5,000IU - 10,000IU per day is perfectly safe for an otherwise healthy individual. Vitamin D toxicity is not like toxicity of other fat soluble vitamins. The vitamin D isn't toxic, but in a very small minority of people may cause elevated blood calcium.
Hi, Dr, this is an excellent video. I am currently planning hiw to supplement my vitamin D leves, and your video is quiet timely and spot on. I come from a hot climate and whenever l travel to Europe for studies, l lose that vitamin D and suffer from all sort of upset tummy, and feeling of extreme cold etc. I later realised whenever l vist home for like two weeks all these symptoms vanish. Niw am back to Europe and want to start taking vitamin D but the liquid version not the capsule. Any tips? Thanks
Vitamin D deficiency can lead to a range of warning signs and health risks that impact bones, muscles, immunity, and mental health. Early symptoms often include fatigue, muscle weakness, and frequent infections, as vitamin D is critical for immune function. Bone and joint pain are common, with an increased risk of osteoporosis, fractures, and conditions like osteomalacia (bone softening) in severe cases. Deficiency may also affect mood and cognitive health, leading to symptoms such as depression, mood swings, and even cognitive decline over time. At higher risk are those with limited sun exposure, darker skin, older age, or certain health conditions.
@@DillanRichardson. No, I don't just listen to Dr. Eric Berg. PubMed has over 60,000 articles on Vitamin D so they are the leading Vitamin D "channel". LOL.
d3 is in the form of cholecalciferol which isnt necessarily herbal, but the source doesnt really matter. k2, the mk7 version is the best kind. there are also a couple kinds of magnesium which are the best as well but i forgot what they are. whole food sources are usually the best for k2, mag and vit a
Sun needs to be in an 42° angle for enough UVB rays to get through for vitamin D. There are sites in the internet where you can check for your location. In Germany right now in August you are good from roughl 12:00 to 15:30 o clock. With its peak at 13:37 right now.
I was told by my doctor to stop taking vitamin D with vitamin K because of my blood pressure. I had my blood drawn for vitamin D and it came back normal. I'm trying to figure out why I still have all the symptoms of Vitamin D deficiency?
Yow, the most important vitamin is vitamin C, isn't it? And remember, vitamins do not accumulate in the body, they are washed away every day and have to be supplied again and again. Excessive amount of fat soluble vitamins may be fatal.
