Sunday 3/15, Wednesday 3/18 & Friday 3/20/2020:
This is quite possibly the most frightening time I've ever lived through. I'm sure many of you feel the same. In my life I have survived the threat of nuclear annihilation during the Cold War & the specter of imminent terrorist attacks in the wake of 9/11. But never in my 42 years have I witnessed something like this. To make matters worse, we are watching the destruction of our beloved hobby. Hopefully this is temporary and things get back to normal sooner rather than later, but nobody really knows. It's possible that "Planespotting" may never be the same. So join me as we watch the unraveling of the airline industry over short span of one week. Ben Bearup joins us and you should follow him at @TheAviationBeat on Twitter. You would be wise to do so. Hey Matt! Former ramper here that worked at HSV. My current company has a yard in ellenwood and I would watch aircraft come in from there but yesterday it was eerie seeing more intervals between aircraft than the normal seemed like every 30 secs. Went by the airport yesterday and this morning and this was a freaky and weird sight seeing them all stacked up like that. Hope this all said and done soon so they can get these birds up again and make plane spotting more fun

Thank you Matt for posting these awesome videos. I'm an avid plane watcher and i went to Hartsfield three times last year. I always stay at the Renaissance Concourse Hotel with a runway view. I was flying to Atlanta at the end of April, but im postponing it until late August. Let's get rid of what's going on and return to our daily lives. Get this Airport back to the way it was. Thanks.

I'm confident the airlines will be bailed out and over time it will return to normal
robwillie A bailout’s not going to increase demand. Hate to say it but the world isn’t going to get back to “normal” after this. Our society is going to be toast. Not because of COVID deaths, but because of the total economic collapse that’s coming up here in a couple weeks.

I used to work at Hartsfield as a contract security officer back in the 90s and watching this is both beautiful and heartbreaking I think you understand why., for as long as you can keep them coming and keep posting these wonderful videos they bring back so many incredible memories Good Times

Nice catches of the Star Wars B738 and NEOS Dreamliner. I'm hoping this crisis won't be too detrimental to our hobby, but there will certainly be casualties to some of the airlines we love

Neos is the only Airline in Italy that is profitable, they fly a lot to exotic destinations, and they are doing an absolutely amazing job on bringing all stranded Italian back home. They a bunch of 787 and 737

Were ya there to catch N955AT landing from Huntsville on the 15th? Looks like that might be a bit too early in the day for that flight.
The first timelapse portion had Delta 1692 arriving, which goes to & from SAN... but the "Heavy" is not something you normally heard from that one. Turns out, they've been running an A333 on that flight, making it the first time an A333 has been on a daily scheduled route into SAN (from anywhere). But they'll be going away next month, probably back to an A321... if the fungus doesn't temporarily discontinue the route

The 777s have the best spool ups
why are they parking the 88s and 90s and 717s they should use those instead of the Endeavor jets much more comfortable plus hold more people....Hopefully this doesnt go on too long
Remember Endeavour also operates forAmerican Eagle and a 717 being the smaller of the MD 88s and 90s still dwarfs a crj 700 or 900 or EMB 170 or 175. It simply isn’t meant for regional hops like they are nor can it fit in their gates. The only thing I can think of is a 717 on the longest E 175 route.
@@AA-tz2bm DL uses those a/c i mentioned the 717 88 & 90 on short flights like under a hour
