Queretaro Mexico has it all: perfect weather, centuries of history, beautiful architecture, low crime rates and a low cost of living. Find out why I chose Queretaro over more famous cities like Guadalajara, Merida, or Mexico City and why Queretaro is the perfect city for me.
Mexico is full of beautiful cities, full of gorgeous colonial architecture, good weather and great food, so why did I decide to move to Queretaro? In this video I'll tell you why I fell in love with this city and why I think it is the best city in Mexico for expats, retirees and digital nomads.
Queretaro is growing city with a high standard of living and because of this, people from all over Mexico are flocking here to live. It is also becoming more popular among expats and retirees who want a safe, peaceful place to live but without sacrificing any of the modern facilities that they enjoy.
As a cheaper option to San Miguel de Allende, which is just an hour away, Queretaro is fast becoming a destination of choice for those who want to retire in Mexico.
Even if you don't plan to live in Mexico, Queretaro is the perfect place to visit if you want to travel to Mexico in 2021. Check out my channel for more Queretaro travel vlogs and for things to do in Queretaro.
Let me know what you think. Is Queretaro the best city in Mexico for you? Can you think of any other Mexican cities that can rival Queretaro in terms of safety and overall quality of life? Please let me know in the comments below.

Love your work! Quick question: I'm an oil painter. Have you noticed a painting community there? Classes, workshops, etc? Thanks, Thomas
I am so glad that ive discovered your post. Filipino here currently staying in Puerto Vallarta for almost 3 months now and while im enjoying it here, I think its time for me to explore Mexico further. I was about to book a month in Cozumel when I chanced upon this video. I think Queretaro ticks all the required boxes for me as a digital nomad. I enjoyed swimming on beaches around PV and this video made me realize that Cozumel will be no different. So I think Queretaro is what Im looking for as a change, and then Oaxaca October/November before finally leaving Mexico.
@@pinoydigitalnomad how was/is PV? I am looking at it next..
@@tadjani5191 its great but its rainy season now.
@@pinoydigitalnomad I'm in SMA and it rains every day. Usually not very long though..10 - 20 min.
We’ve been in Querétaro only 2 weeks and we’ve already fallen in love with this place ❤️ bravo on such a well-made video that highlights the many reasons to love Querétaro!
thank you very much guys
I was born in Queretaro, I have always seen that compared to the rest of the republic, this is a very quiet and safe place, lately there have been many foreign companies, so there are jobs, we have enough universities for a relatively small place (1.2 million people).
But for local people, maybe it is a bit more expensive than the rest of the country.
Overall, I think it's a very good place.
Sorry for my English, but I would like to tell you that I loved the video.
English was really good.
Querétaro is truly a magical place. It’s the birthplace of my father and I feel so connected to my roots whenever I visit. People are friendly, the food is delicious, it’s clean, and it’s safe. What more could you ask for 🥰
Wow! The storytelling and production quality of your videos keeps getting better and better!
Querétaro seems like a beautiful city and seems like it's growing while still maintaining its historic character.
Thank you so much for telling us about this lovely city.
Yeah, people say it's one of the most modern cities in Mexico. The only thing I dislike is the weather and lack of beach haha. That's why I prefer the south of Mexico. For the weather, the nature, indigenous history and the warmth of the people.

A Filipino friend of mine, who speaks fluent Spanish, lived in Queretaro for about a year (shortly after he visited Cuba). He loved it. He backpacked and took the bus around the State of Guerrero and also visited Oaxaca and Acapulco. You are lucky living there.
Me gusta mucho, Querétaro.
Por siempre 💚 Querétaro.
Gracias - me encanta!
I can tell, you love this town. It is beautiful.
Awesone Kar!!! I love these kind of videos which show Mexico's beauty. We're lucky for being Mexicans 🎈❣🎊🎉😃💥🥳🍹🤠 I love Queretaro too!
Hi..you mentioned my two favorite towns in México. Mostly i like them for their history and architecture. Enjoy
Thank you for the tour. I have not been there in fifty years. It is on my list now to retire to.
We cant wait to get there...3 years until retirement ! Queretaro here we come !
I hope Turismo Mexico is sponsoring you.
"You'll want to pack your things and move here right away"...hahahaha!! I love that line!
Haha
Great video! I am a native of Celaya and been living in the US for 20 years. I wished I would have spent more time in Queretaro as a child, I am glad it is still a beautiful place to visit with the family. Saludos!
QRO is a traditional , peaceful & safety city, I like to walk in the downtown.
Backpacking Brunette also lives in Quetérao (she's been there for a few years now). She and her other half both have online jobs and they both love Querétaro very much. It would be great for both of you to do a show together.
I'm already talking to her about this.
I hope we can make something together soon. 😃
My final 3 choice: Morelia, SMA & Querétaro but at the end I moved to Morelia. They’re all great!
You paint a lovely picture!😄👍💝💝💝
We really like your videos, Karencita. You are friendly and down-to-earth ... very authentic. :-) My partner Jorge and I will be visiting Querétaro for two weeks in April. In November we will return and pick out our rental home or apartment in Querétaro (most likely in the community of Zibatá), and then in December we will drive from Dallas, Texas, to Querétaro with our happy, handsome Golden Retriever mix named Buddy to start a new phase of our life down there. Jorge and I have been together for almost 30 years now. He is originally from Puebla -- I am originally from Dallas. We are retired teachers. I started a second career in 2009 as a Spanish English court interpreter. I love this profession! Spanish is a major part of my life!
No manches 🤦🏻♂️
Gracias por el excelente video! Me gusta Querétaro! Saludos 🤗👋🌷
Este video me parece brutalmente útil. Definitivamente me mudaré!
Beautiful and magical city👍
Queretaro is the perfect city because your in it. Your husbands a lucky man. 😀 GOd Bless
Thanks for all the info... I got a bit to go here before I make the move but the info helps me prepare and be informed 😃, funny thing it will be Oaxaca or Queretaro.
It’s important to understand people change and although people love places to stay the same as to culture people do change because they are not a culture but a life.

Looks beautiful. I love Mexico but more especially Mexicans. I live 9 months at the beach in Nayarit (st cruz de Miramar the very opposite of Sayulita) and I’m a Londoner. Viva Mexico
I guess life there is very quiet. I've never heard of that beach 🏖️
Thanks for watching my videos 😊
Lovely channel and you are very cute 🌻, definately a must-visit city and so colorful!! ❤ Mexico
Your videos first made me want to go to Vietnam and now I want to go to Mexico!
Iam coming there in June for 2 months then Sayulita 2 months to decide which one to live in. Love your videos!!
nice video, the best city to live here :)
We loved Queretaro when we were there. Where weren't vlogging when we were there but when we return we will vlog there. Great video.
espero visitar queretaro

Hi Krencita! At 2:32 Just a correction, though I'm sure no one was too confused, I think you meant to say "and all of them have their charm", NOT "none of them have their charm" (sorry!)

Saludos y bienvenidos.

Create passenger train service to CDMX, and Querétaro would be perfect.
Claro, Qurétaro es la mejor ciudad.
When I first came to,Antigua, Guatemala the old Spanish families still lived in about half the houses here. I,LIVED WITH AN UPPER,CLASS family for 6 mos. I was then accepted as a local rather quickly....many upper class families had sent children my age to religious collegios in the USA during the civil war so they accepted me well, were bi lingual and I dropped,in for cafe in the afternoon, often attended birthday parties etc, It was a gorgeous refined lifestyle we used to have in the Southern United States. I could not bear to leave.
Pre covid 90% of these formermhomes had been converted to small hotels, restaurants, shops for tourists. Now so,many are closed and will not quickly come back...I hope some of the antiguenos move back to town to,that sweeter life of socializing at home.
Hi Karencita, I do like your videos, but, I do have some suggestions. If you could go more into details such as Places/history and facts. Customs and festivals. As you visit a place tell us a little more in deep. Also would it be nice to know the safe Neighborhoods around the Main town. And other Pueblos Mágicos. Thank you. Hasta luego . Buen día.
Yes. That's the plan but I can't fit everything in one video because it'd be very long. There'll be loads of videos about different topics.
So, you'll have to promise to watch them when they come out.
Basically, all neighborhoods are 'safe' in Querétaro.
u just got competitive neighbors, "tangerine traveler", maybe u could do a joint video?, they could use your insights, new in town, can I call u Kari?, saludos from s. tx, usa

Mil gracias!
No
Hello hello 🙋🏻♀️🇵🇪
Hola hola!!
Wow, what a gorgeous city! Never heard of it but now I’m dying to go! Looks like a fantastic place.

I was planning my trip to the Phillipines when the pandemic happened ☹️
Hopefully, I'll go next year 😃
Lol voy.
Básicamente no importa tu certificado.
