I am an athletic, very healthy, non smoking retired science teacher moving to QRO in August. I want to go to language school for the first year and am also interested in volunteering in a teaching environment. Do you have any suggestion to go about getting certified/verified in order to volunteer if there are any opportunities to volunteer as a teacher? Thank you to anyone in this community that offers advice. Cheers,

This is one of THE BEST videos I have seen on our gorgeous home - Querétaro, Mexico. Thank you for being honest! The cost of living here has increased dramatically over the past 5 years. The dollar devaluation against the peso in the past 4 years has really hurt. Add in general cost of living and increases (inflation - especially food) in food costs has been significant. Great job on this video - you were a little too kind on the cost of living here though - particularly for retirees from the USA and Canada on a fixed retirement income. Mexico is NOT the bargain economically as it was five years ago…Nice job!!!

@@MexicoRelocationGuide Our pleasure. There are WAY TOO MANY “Relocation to Mexico” videos and channels that move away from the truth and mislead people. Your adherence to the current facts sets your channel apart and garners you integrity - well above other “promotion and pump” channels and videos. I am writing an article on “how things have changed in Querétaro over the past 5 years” and would like to interview you. CNN is also writing a piece on this subject as well…from a broader perspective- U.S. retirees heading to Mexico. They interviewed me. Article will be out in a few weeks. (Both articles). Let me know…Again - Nice job!!!

I have heard about the cost of living going up in Queretaro and San Miguel de Allende due to the influx of retirees and expats. So, going with your comment, what would you say a retiree would need to live comfortably in Queretaro, more or less? a Monthly dollar amount. I have traveled to most of the Major cities in Mexico, but I would prefer the small towns to live in. I retired last year and live on my Pension, I will take Social Security at age 66. I am 58 now and live in San Antonio, TX and speak decent Spanish, I'm just not happy with the direction our country is going, Inflation is bad, crime has increased in my city, it's just not enjoyable anymore. A friend of mine who is Mexican, said a good alternative is San Luis Potosi, which is not as popular as Queretaro or San Miguel.

Really great video. I was there last summer. The city is growing very fast as manufacturing is booming and bringing jobs with it. The centro was lively and walkable from Los Alamos. It was too congested and too polluted for us due to the volume of cars. The traffic is terrible. But if you like big cities, then I imagine it’s one of the best options in Mexico due to the safety and economic expansion.

Querétaro is a fantastic place to live, especially in the very walkable Centro with so many cultural events to attend.
Yes, like every place in the world, prices have gone up - but for under a $1,000 I can rent a well located, huge 3 bed, 2 bath apartment that in Canada, in a comparable city, would be at least $4,000/month…

@@unclefester6501 traffic can get quite intense. I go each year for work and rush hour can be pretty slow vs other towns, but QRO is really great in el centro. I actually wish they would reduce most car traffic down to the major thoroughfares because the streets are beautiful, but meant for donkeys, not cars.

I have mostly lived in cities with temperate climates and a lot of trees. While cities in the mountainous center have good climates (5000 ft and above), most of Mexico looks "tree-less" to me. What cities have trees and cooler weather?

@@MexicoRelocationGuide If they're going to have the same income as they had in the Western city they're from, then yeah it's going to be more affordable. But if they're hoping to move to Queretaro with a $2k monthly budget and lead a very comfortable middle-class lifestyle, I'd say that's probably not going to be quite enough anymore. That said, Queretaro might be the most beautiful city that I've had the privilege to spend some time in. It's an absolutely stunning place - an incredible historic centre, a perfect climate with sunshine almost every day, relatively low crime rates, and only about three hours away from CDMX by car. All this has obviously driven up its popularity with middle-class Mexicans and foreigners, which has in turn driven up prices.

I can see all the benefits you guys get for coming here but most are not working people nor investing in things that benefits us. If you say we go to the states we do but are most hard working people getting paíd less then min wage so it benefits you. All I can say if you americanize it mexican will turn on you. To keep it peacefull visiting is fine but moving to anyplace in mexico needs to be with a benefit to us.
