It is beatable. I got my Cube Stereo One77 Race for 2700€ (thanks to a 6% tax we now have in Portugal). YT refuses to apply that tax, so at least here, they're not that worth it anymore.
You’re so much better to listen to than the guys in Pinbike. They’re hard to watch sometimes… Great review of YT’s custom build process. I’m fiddling around with another company, where I’m able to custom build my bike to my desired specs too. I have a question: Have you been able to ride on the Formula Selva S fork and/or the Formula MOD coil rear shock? Have you ever tested the Formula Cura 2 or 4 piston brakes? I’m wondering because there aren’t a ton of reviews on these parts by Formula, but every review I’ve seen says they’re great. They are options on a build I’m putting together on a Propain Tyee 6 AL bike.
The Ohlins model is the best bike specked to price point right now on the market and it’s on sale for 4950$ I know everyone doesn’t have 5k just laying around to buy a bike but if you’re seriously looking for a good bang for your buck then I’d buy one there’s only one downside to buying from YY industries and it’s their wait times are kinda of long
The Capra MX uncaged 10 with fox 38 and rear fox DHX performance coil shock is on sale for 2399$ come on man that’s a great entry enduro bike for those looking to get into the sport
If you climb locked the rear suspension and front then it can climb easier now the only difference is short travel less bobbing but if you locked it out it is still the same. I have a 120mm and 160mm they both can climb good as long as both locked out. Riders do not appreciate the remote locked out on rear is so convenient and important on riding experience
YT is a great brand and is worth the money. Trek and more would cost you 2k and more for their bikes that may not have the components like YT will have on their bikes. Specialized does have a consumer, direct bikes that compares to YT, Canyon,Vitus and more. We were out at YT and they let us test bikes and didn’t shove NOW NOW BUY BUY attitude. We didn’t have enough money anyway to buy one but I did have AFFIRM account that allowed us to buy a bike that year. Like you said, YT has amazing deals on a sale as well in-house to check out. I have a bicycle shop and for me to get a bike from the companies we sell, they wouldn’t let me have the same pricing as YT gave us at their full retail price. I do sell KHS and they did give me a great price for my bike. So my Son has his YT and I ride the KHS . I think shops and direct companies should work together, not to rase prices up but to be able to sell bikes and service them with only a fee to the customer of $85.00 to build the bikes. We even warranty our work for 3-month for that price. I work with Aventon E-bikes company, that way and are able to sell their bikes at Same pricing customers buy them at and we still can make a little profit. If anyone is looking out that way or take a road trip and try out my old stomping grounds in Cali. Make the trip at YT, not to far from there are trails to test the bikes and be safe because some can test your limits. But well worth it to try before you buy.
HS2 rotors are hot garbage. They warp super easily and are overpriced garbage. I’ve used SRAM brakes for as long as I can remember. The centreline rotors are tried and true. Running the hs2 rotors on a dh bike is just abuse to your ears. Stick with centrelines, they work better.
Update on the YT ohlins model bike with coil shock sale price is now 4399$ that’s a great deal for what you get your not going to get a better deal from another brand for what you get
I would definitely have bought the uncaged 11 if it were available in may, when I bought my Core3. The Öhlins is just so much cooler than the Rockshox stuff, though I am still very happy with the core 3 and the suspension. Only thing I swapped was the wheelset, which is the same on both.
I have a Core3 also. I think the wheels are carbon on the Uncaged and alloy on the Core3. Having never run carbon hoops I have no idea if that’s a big improvement. Honestly it’s the colour that does it for me. The Uncaged has just the right amount of yellow.
@@therealridedmc Yeah, I just checked and the uncaged has carbon, which are supposed to be a lot better than the alloy version. The color is definitely a looker, I thought about going with the mx version just for the yellow, but decided to go with the black 29" instead. If anyones on the fence: the uncaged 11 is 4950€ rn and the core 3 is 3500€, which is even less than the 3850 I paid, when they had the 15% off.
@@therealridedmcI have built two sets of carbon wheels since it was a lot cheaper to do that (and I posses the ability). Here are my top pros: - Wheels have less rotational weight (and lighter overall) - Rarely require truing compared to alloy - Stiffer (self-supporting rims) - If you accidentally take out like 5 spokes with a stick, the wheels can be still rideable back to civilization (self-supporting rim)… yes, I did have this happen.
I'm really tempted with the yt uncaged and it's definitely a shreder for downhill but my question is how good or bad it is for uphill. I would appreciate if someone with one can tell me😄
While this was a great comparison, and did get me looking/comparing some of the different YT options that are available, its pretty that this is a paid advertisement, and the Vital MTB team should be more transparent of what's going on here.
Not sure how you see it that way. They have gone up a bit in price but only the other direct to consumer brands, like Canyon give the the same components for the $$. I have bikes from both brands, bought in Australia, at a great price.
