    Great review! For people still wondering whether 150/145mm is enough travel, just remember, there's folks out there riding their hardtails where you wouldn't dare go with an enduro bike.

    I enjoyed watching this, thank you for your insight in to the Jeffsey! I own a mid travel bike which is similar travel but I was always intrigued by the Jeffsey. I agree with the transmission comment, I am sure it is great drive train but having to charge the batteries is a downer.

    Try an oval chainring. In terms of effort, it makes you feel like you are in a lower gear. There's also a subtle smoothing of cadence - very hard to notice though.

    Did you upgrade the fork to 160? Or is it still 150? How does the coil feel?? Im thinking of those two upgrades but Im worried of the coil since I sometimes bottom out the air shock (not sure if ill need a too hard coil to keep if fine)

    After owning an riding a Capra for a long time, which was great for Utah terrain, I think the Jeffsy is the perfect all around bike. I loved my Capra, but it was heavy, and if you aren’t constantly riding enduro terrain or bike parks, I think the less weight and mid travel range is perfect for pedaling up and getting rowdy on the descents. I traded my Capra for a Specialized Status 140 which is a mullet setup and it feels way more playful and better all mountain bike.

    • @RydenDirty
      @RydenDirty  2 місяці тому +1

      I can totally agree with that. Having a heavy enduro when you don’t need it kinda sucks sometimes. Them shorter travel bikes are shredding machines. The status was definitely a contender.

    I’m riding enduro on a Izzo here in the Swiss Alps. Just installed 2.4” MagicMarys and M7s brakes with 203mm rotors front and rear. It’s sketchy to follow people on enduro rigs but surprisingly it’s holding without breaking anything and I’m thinking about getting a Jeffsy or Capra. Since I do like pedal up, Jeffsy maybe a better bike. Thanks for your video.

    • @RydenDirty
      @RydenDirty  2 місяці тому

      @@hectorlmges that’s rad. I actually had some maxxis dhr and dhf on my izzo and it could handle a lot. But I realized it was to wild on crazy stuff because it was so light it would bounce all over the trail. With the izzo not a problem.

    • @casestudymtb
      @casestudymtb 2 місяці тому +1

      I love my izzo for xc/trail stuff, but my issue with it is the flex in the rear end. I've tried it with the stock dt xcm 1501s as well as my We are one convergence rims ( which are extremely laterally stiff wheels) and it doesn't make any difference. They way that rear end twists and loads up at higher speeds makes it completely unsuitable for riding faster tracks in my opinion.

    Thanks for the vid, like the format. Looking at something like ripmo for the 160/150 or trance at 150/140 for some gnarly local trails, but I'm a bigger rider at 220lb before gear. You reckon a 140 shock's enough for someone like me who needs the suspension to stand up to some extra abuse and some fairly large drops?

    • @RydenDirty
      @RydenDirty  2 місяці тому +1

      yoooo thanks for watching. honestly its probably more up to how your skills are. 140-150 is pretty close. i would say if you want to hit some big jump lines along with trail riding i would go 150mm. But 140/150 iss so close. if youre planning on doing bike parks go qith the 150mm

      Hey thanks my dude!!! Actually the Jeffsy is 31.6 seat post diameter. Unless you’re talking about the clamp. If so I don’t recommend changing the spec size. But if it’s an adjustable seat-post clam that might work

    So between a jeffsy core 2 or 3 for a beginner you'd still take the core 3 ? Only diff is carbon frame vs alu (2500 vs 3000eur)

    Regarding batteries... understand you don't like that. Wondering if you knew that the light on the derailleur shows green when you press the axs button or initiate a shift, when there's enough charge for a ride. If it shows red, you can just charge it on the way to the trails and you'll likely have plenty after 10 mins or so of charging to get you through about any ride. That's my routine anyway. I also always make sure to charge the battery in my truck so I don't leave it on my workbench. If you ride to the trails from the house, then you might just check it and throw it on the charger while you prep the rest of your gear.

    • @RydenDirty
      @RydenDirty  2 місяці тому +1

      @@WEAZY-E yes I’m very aware of the green light. I’m simply stating that it only takes one time to forget a battery or charging it, that it could ruin a bike trip

    the amount of travel is pretty subjective cause on 1 bike it can feel a lot and on the other one - not enough
    basically, having Slash vs Altitude comparison on 21-23 models leads to pretty big difference in suspension performance
    I'd generally agree 150/160 is the best all around bike you can get for everything
    however, I generally prefer a 170 fork even if I have 150 on the rear. my altitude allows me to have 150mm on the back via ride9 system and to have 165mm of travel if required
    i'd also like to try out a new instinct which looks like lots of fun in the steepest setting

    • @RydenDirty
      @RydenDirty  2 місяці тому
