The Lion King, based on the famous Disney movie, is a platform game where you control Simba - initially as a young cub, and later as an adult lion. The plot of the game follows the plot of the movie. Each of the levels represents a part of the movie.
EZGames69 ( tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/E... ) and SBDWolf ( tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/S... ) save 1:28 over the previous run ( tasvideos.org/2716M ) by playing on the easiest difficulty instead of the hardest and through better manipulation of the RNG. I dont even remember those extra stages...
I know, riding those ostriches was such a pain, very inaccurate hit boxes on those nests. The monkey puzzles weren't too bad, but still slow and annoying compared to the rest of the game. Luckily "BARRY" was helpful. Genesis owners got level select without any cheat codes, but couldn't select bonus levels and I think had to play on hard mode only if they used level select.
starting at 4:10 the music sync its hilarious, a few hits and jumping.
Simba really couldn't wait to be king!
as a kid i never even got past the stupid monkeys. most infuriating puzzle ever!
The difficulty was designed to prevent people finishing the game within a single rental period.

Great run! Fun to watch, but the execution of the ostrich-ride in the second level makes me hate myself, that looks so easy 😆.

This game was so ridiculously hard as a kid. And this speedrun just obliterates it!

Probably one of the hardest games known to man
The SNES version is even harder because it has glitches in it that make it almost impossible to beat

The ??? Rock during the stampede would get me every time
This was so hard as a kid. I always used to get stuck on the first adult level against the panthers.
I used to get stuck at climbing the waterfall when I was a kid but the ending broke my patience after years of trying to beat this game I could never figure out how to throw scar off the cliff and then I did it by accident mashing buttons. Best accidental win ever lol this was years after my Genesis died and I was playing with emulator and save states but still a win haha
Cheat codes and tool assisted inputs are the only way to experience this game in it's entirety .

I did beat this game (on DIFFICULT) as a child; however, it took me a LOT of practice.
I wish I could get it to run on my SNES Classic Mini. This is a game that I always enjoy playing, no matter the difficulty.

Yes it is my friend! It's really annoying and difficult
I used to just roar at random monkeys for hours til I somehow won. Then died on the next level 😂
I really wanted to love and speedrun this game. But the freaking level with the monkeys made it impossible! Man if only that level was made easier 😭

You sir Are an absolute pro at speed running. I love your videos. I watched your videos where you speed ran. Aladdin The Jungle Book. And the Lion King and Toy Story. Ice speed run the Lion King and Aladdin. On the Nintendo switch version. And the Xbox One version. I watched your older speed run Sega Genesis Speed run of the Lion King on difficult mode. And I notice you weren't a very good pro back in the day but now you are. I think you should. Do another speed run of the Genesis version of the Lion King on difficult mode agand just to show how more pro you are.

A TAS is a Tool Assisted Speedrun where they put in allot of inputs in an emulator to create a theoretical perfect Speedrun! Some tricks done in this video isn't even possible for a human to pull off.
Okay, I believe you now. I was thinking it was some guy that was a real pro at speed running for a second.
