People have been crapping all over this game for decades, but I have always loved it. I had both Zelda games growing up, so I learned to love them both. If folk would just decouple this game from the fact that it's a Zelda game and judge it on its own merit, they'd find its actually a decent game. People are so wrapped around the fact that its just so different from the original and lose sight of the game in and of itself. It isn't a masterpiece, but it's not terrible either.
I did like the original Zelda growing up, but honestly, I always liked Zelda II just a little bit more. Something about the jumping aspects and the combat was just very fun and satisfying.
- It doesn’t feel good to be a boss in a Tool Assisted Speedrun For a few years, we had a french youtube show dedicated to TAS and one of the commentator, Realmyop, used this catchphrase and it became quite popular ^^
I have to say that this is, by far, the best run I've seen of this game so far. It's just so entertaining to see all the quirky glitches (or whatever you want to call them) while you're playing. I just like the quick pace to it all and how fast you take out the bosses. It's nice being able to watch a playthrough without the hassle, if that makes any sense. I also love the point management and how you consistently kill yourself to save time lol. Great video!
I just love how TAS speedrunners pushes buttons to do stuff, like jumping, throwing projectiles, and other things, to the beat of the music. :) And somehow, the subtitles for this video are mimicking what the music is "saying".
Man I really like this game, sure it has issues, but it's very satisfying to get through. It's challenging and confusing, but I always loved the progression of how strong you become and the dungeons are quite fun, too!. The Death Mountain trail is still in my nightmares though, definitely my least favourite part. :P
Is it weird that the part I'm most amazed by is the fact that you can just turn back and then continue on when you land on those forced encounter tiles?
It's a glitch. Human players can pull it off consistently with the fairy spell, but would more likely just exit the screen normally if trying to do what the TAS is doing.
@@Dekaide44 that is part of the set up used by humans to pull off the glitch in RTA runs, without using the fairy spell. The player must let go of the direction they are leaving the screen the frame after they reach the exact pixel where the screen transition, and then press the opposite direction the very next frame. To make this easier, the player will pause on the frame they reach the screen transition. Then they can press and hold the opposite direction to buffer the input for the frame after they unpause.
@@Mega_Mikey they decided to opt out from doing left+right, probably because it makes it less entertaining bc nobody is gonna watch link zipping all over the place for 30-40 minutes, gets old quick.
Well that's what it says in the submission text, the authors thought zipping and scroll lock reduced entertainment value. If anyone wanted to make a 100% TAS with left+right, it'll be out someday™.
No, there’s more stabs than that. It’s just that it’s done so fast that there’s barely any animation unless you go frame by frame. That’s the beauty of a TAS. And warping to King’s tomb is called the healer glitch which human runners also do in many categories.
100% means all items and upgrades, not all screens, lol. Were you expecting them to also go through the screens in palaces that are either unnecessary or even dead ends…
It's a speed run being in fairy skips the animation link holding the item up standing in place for a second or 2 so it does speed up the run slightly. And since he had the magic to spare still had exactly enough for the thunderbird that's also TAS for you at times he does this purposely.
Loved this TAS. The slashing and dancing to the music is a nice touch.
Pathetic

They do the same thing for Majoras mask which is one of my favorites.

@@EnjoySackLuncheveryone can have their own opinion of course, even if it’s a dumbass opinion like yours

Dark Link: I am your shadow, and I know all of your moves!
TasBot: And I know your moves before you do them!
TasBot: "You might know everything I'm going to do, but that's not going to help you since I know everything you're going to do! Strange isn't it?!"

Is the first z2 speedrun in which we ever get to see the caves with the candle light 😍
The way Link is in Sync with the song on movements in each House segment 😁
This TAS was godlike, gracias for the creation
Good news is we can play Z2 on the Switch! This TAS inspired a quick trip down memory lane.
Link is the perfect gentleman for staying out of all the townspeople's way.
My favorite NES game ever.

Nice to see wrong warping without zips. It's got a much nicer pace.
The anxiety i get from the enemies on the overworld getting so close to link

When Link is facing left, he holds the sword in his left hand. When he's facing right, he holds the sword in his right hand.
The limitations of the time.

Once again the NES 8 Bit Music Impressed Me alot Considering the Limitation of the Console
Great Speed Run
Literally made the hardest and most hated Zelda look easy.
It is easy after 20 min of practicing combat
I love the temple music.
The only Zelda game made by nintendo, in which link is the only time he can jump normally.
