We fans often forget how difficult it is for these players to live after these mistakes. When a whole fanbase goes against you for missing the right play or not kicking a 'simple' field goal, it must hurt so much inside. The feeling of pain and rejection from the people that once loved you is hard, and in these times, these players need some love and compassion to get through and be better again. Seeing Blair Walsh that season made me think that he was still having nightmares of that missed field goal. U.S Senator Bill Bradley, formerly of the New York Knicks team with Phil Jackson, missed a wide open shot that would have given him another NBA title. After his career, he left and became a politician, where he still keeps a picture of that missed shot in his office as a reminder to not give up regardless of what happens.
